Description

Designed around a 4 year old Conservation Riparian Enrichment Program (CREP) promoting fish habitat on a small section of Bummer Creek. The course meanders over 20+ acres of former homestead farmland with a bit of elevation and numerous seasonal water crossings including a shot across Bummer Creek itself. Targets are in a combination of three different basic art forms: a circle, a triangle, and a square. Each is approximately 24" in size and colored in order of the type: Red-Round, White-Triangle, and Blue-Box. Plays is in the order of red, white, and blue. The wooden targets make a sound when hit that echoes through the hills, giving "knock on wood" a whole new meaning. Suggested donation; $5 per player is appreciated. Players under 12, and 62 and older should play for free. A portion of donations go to Alsea Community Effort, a community based Non-Profit that supports local operations such the Alsea Library. Donations can be dropped in the honor box at tee #1. Parking is on either side of the barn, or further alongside the road. Please do not park in front of the barn and block the tee shot for hole #3. Call or text the course contact and leave a message and return phone number for hours of operation and tee time availability. Nature trail, bird watching, and primitive campsites also onsite.

Directions

From Alsea; Rte 34. Go south on Deadwood Hwy (Rte 501) for just over a mile to a right on Haines Rd. Drive over the Bummer Creek bridge and park just past the barn on the right (just up over the hill and on the right). Park on the right. If the lots are full, you may park on the right side shoulder, or up the Bone Road. 1st tee is an elevated tee, back just before the last driveway.
