2026 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships Welcome Letter

Welcome to the 2026 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships in Buffalo, NY! 

Welcome:  

On behalf of our entire tournament staff, dedicated volunteers, valued sponsors, and the vibrant Western New York disc golf community, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships presented by Dynamic Discs. 

We are thrilled to have you here for what promises to be an unforgettable week of competition, camaraderie, and celebration.  Players from around the world have earned the opportunity to compete on one of amateur disc golf’s biggest stages, and we are honored that Buffalo, New York, will serve as the backdrop for this incredible event.   

As you prepare for the week ahead, I encourage you to review this letter carefully and keep it handy throughout the championship.  Our goal is to provide a world-class experience both on and off the course, allowing you to focus on competing at your best, building new friendships, and creating memories that will last a lifetime here in Buffalo

Courses & Caddie Books:  

This year’s championship will be contested across four outstanding courses that showcase the diversity and beauty of disc golf in Western New York:  

MA1 will play Bond Lake Park, Royalton Ravine Park, & Black Diamond at Emery Park. 

FA1 will be at Como Lake Park, Bond Lake Park, and Black Diamond at Emery Park. 

Each venue presents its own unique challenges and rewards, demanding a full range of skills, strategy, and mental toughness.  Our team has worked tirelessly to prepare these courses, and we cannot wait to see you take on the challenge.

Attractions: 

While you are in Western New York, be sure to explore the region’s world-class attractions and legendary food scene.  No visit is complete without experiencing the breathtaking beauty of Niagara Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world.  See the Falls up close with the Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist.  Buffalo is home to the AKG Art Museum, one of the country’s premier modern and contemporary art museums.  Visitors looking to explore beyond Buffalo/Niagara Falls should consider a visit to Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, NY.  Here you will find a beautifully preserved 18th-century fortress overlooking Lake Ontario.  A short trip east brings visitors to the charming historic town of Lockport, where they can experience the famous Erie Canal Locks and enjoy the one-of-a-kind Underground Boat Ride. Visitors can enjoy the Erie County Fair (August 12-23), one of America’s largest and oldest county fairs.   

Food/Drinks: 

Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy throughout the Buffalo-Niagara region, from the city’s world-famous chicken wings (Anchor Bar and Duff’s) and classic beef on weck sandwiches (Bar Bill Tavern) to charcoal grilled hot dogs (Ted’s), Buffalo-style pizza, and locally made sponge candy.  Visitors can also explore the region’s growing craft brewery scene and sample wines from the nearby Niagara Wine Trails.

Beyond the competition, we invite you to enjoy everything that Amateur Worlds has to offer.  Throughout the week, you will find special events, field competition, the Opening Ceremony, Flymart, the Players Party, and numerous opportunities to connect with competitors and experience our community.

Tuesday, August 11th

  • Flymart presented by NFSeek at Buffalo River Works, 359 Ganson St, Buffalo, NY 14203. 
    • Come support our sponsors and enjoy a dinner by the waterfront, and have fun with the unique attractions in Buffalo River Works 

Wednesday, August 12th

  • Night at Old Falls Street 101 Old Falls St, Niagara Falls, NY 14303. 
    • Come enjoy an hour of disc golf trivia, high-stakes putting competition and live music from Breakout. 

Thursday, August 13th

  • Player’s Party Presented by Larkin Square, 745 Seneca St, Buffalo, NY 14210.   
    • Come use your dinner and ice cream voucher, and enjoy live music from Grand Canyon Rescue Episode. 
  • United States Mini Disc Golf Championship presented by Zing happening throughout the day at the player’s party.
