PDGA Disc Golf Technical Standards

The PDGA Technical Standards Working Group is responsible for testing equipment submitted for PDGA approval. The tests are conducted either by an independent laboratory or by a working group member with the expertise and equipment necessary to measure the physical attributes.

After evaluation of the submission, the Technical Standards Working Group will prepare a report of the specifications and suitability of the disc or target for play and announces and publishes the report to the PDGA Approved Disc Golf Discs and PDGA Approved Disc Golf Targets lists.

Disc golf equipment manufacturers/distributors should review the current published disc golf equipment manufacturer/distributor guidelines before submitting a request for PDGA approval of any disc golf equipment. 

For the purpose of the Technical Standards, manufacturer, distributor, and manufacturer/distributor all refer to the business or brand under whose name the Certification Request Form is submitted.
