PDGA Disc Golf Target Certification Request

To have the production of a target approved for certification, the equipment manufacturer must submit one sample of the target to the PDGA Technical Standards Working Group (TSWG). Review of submissions for PDGA approval is typically completed within 15 business days after receipt of the test samples. If there are issues that delay approval, the TSWG will inform the manufacturer representative of the status of the submission no later than 15 business days after receipt of the test samples. The TSWG will notify the manufacturer via email once the target is approved.

If you have previously submitted a certification request, please select the manufacturer or distributor name from the list below. Otherwise, if this is your first certification request please specify a new manufacturer.
Target Name
Scan the approved targets list making sure your proposed target name is not too similar to a previously approved target name. The PDGA does not referee name conflicts. Please resolve any naming issues with the previously approved manufacturer before your new target can be approved
Please indicate below if disc will have its name translated into another language.
Manufacturer Claimed Values
The manufacturer representative is encouraged to complete the specifications below to inform the Technical Standards Working Group of measurements claimed, but there is no requirement to do so.
Rim Height above grade (as produced). Must be 82 cm (+/- 6 cm).
The minimum required inside depth is 18 cm for Champion and Standard targets and 15 cm for Basic targets. This depth must be reached within 5 cm moving toward the center from the outer edge of basket opening.
Required inside diameter at opening. Must be 66 cm (+/- 4 cm) for Championship and Standard targets.
The maximum open length allowed in sides and bottom is 18 cm for Championship targets and 21 cm for Standard and Basic targets. This is measured in any direction to minimize chance of disc sticking in side or bottom of basket.
The minimum number of required radial repetitions is 12 for Championship targets and 6 for Standard targets.
Deflection Assembly
The diameter requirement for the deflection assembly on Championship and Standard targets is 57 cm (+/- 4 cm) and the maximum width or diameter for Basic targets must not exceed 68 cm.
The minimum number of outer chains for Championship and Standard targets is 12.
The minimum number of inner chains for Championship targets is 6.
The maximum gap length for Championship and Standard targets is 20 cm.
Target Zone
The target zone height for Championship and Standard targets must be 51 cm (+/- 3 cm) and the maximum target zone height for Basic targets is 54 cm. For targets with baskets and deflection assemblies, the target zone height is the distance between the top of the basket wire and bottom of deflection assembly support. For post style targets with no basket or deflection assembly, it's the height of the zone specified where a disc hitting it is considered holed out.
Please upload at least one photo of the target.
Files must be less than 2 MB.
Allowed file types: gif jpg jpeg png.
Responsibilities & Instructions

This target will be legal for all other PDGA-sanctioned events once it is approved and the testing fee is paid. If the target fails to pass one or more of the PDGA tests, I understand that a new Target Certification Request and an additional testing fee will be required if and when it is resubmitted for testing by the Technical Standards Working Group.

I agree to send one sample of the above named target to:
