On May 30, 2026, Illinois joined Alaska, California, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Vermont, and Washington in hosting a high school state championship. The two-round event took place on The Oaks course in Mokena, Illinois. A stand-alone scholastic event with a field of 72 players and ten high schools represented, it is the largest state high school championship to date.
