He’s two-for-two and has his eyes squarely set on building.

Paul McBeth went wire-to-wire this weekend at the Disc Golf Pro Tour – Waco Annual Charity Open presented by Prodigy Disc for his second-straight win this season, and is looking ahead.

“I always look at it like those wins aren’t going to help me win the next one,” McBeth said. “It’s a great feeling to have two wins already this year and it’s great for the year accolades, but I’ve got to look forward.

There were a few things carrying Valerie Mandujano through the battle.

She leaned on the words of her late grandfather, a role model for her family.

“He would always tell us to keep fighting and that it’s a new day,” she said. “That’s the mentality I had today. I think the thing that kept me pushing was always thinking about him and telling myself that I wouldn’t let another one slip away.”

Paul McBeth is feeling confident. Luke Humphries never let the moment get to him. Chris Dickerson and Cale Leiviska made moves.

Eveliina Salonen remained at the top of the leaderboard in defense of her 2020 title, but the margin was cut in half and several players are within striking distance to chase down the title.

It’s all set up for another dramatic and exciting finish on the Brazos River at the Disc Golf Pro Tour – Waco Annual Charity Open.

Paul McBeth had a moment where the conditions got to him a little bit on Friday in Waco, Texas.

But he bounced back, because survival on the course and scorecard was the name of the game during the opening round of the Disc Golf Pro Tour – Waco Annual Charity Open.

Battling cold and blustery conditions on the Brazos River, McBeth finished in a three-way tie at the top in the MPO division while in FPO, Eveliina Salonen found herself in the same position she was the last time she battled the Beast: on top.

A perfect blend of open shots and tight woods, it's time for the Beast in Waco, Texas.

The second stop of the Disc Golf Pro Tour and 2022 PDGA Elite Series season, the Waco Annual Charity Open has been a staple of the professional tour for quite some time. Its open, yet technical holes along the Brazos River give way to the season's first trip through the tight woods. Then, it's back to the open for what has delivered dramatic finishes throughout the years.
