2020 WGE

Due to the uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent PDGA Board of Directors’ decision to suspend PDGA sanctioning of events through March 31, 2020, the PDGA Women’s Global Event on May 9 has been postponed indefinitely.

How many women does it take to throw nine aces in a single day? The answer, as we learned during the last PDGA Women’s Global Event, is about 2,100.

The 2018 WGE heralded another record-breaking turnout for the biennial Mother’s Day Weekend event, which, since its inception in 2012, has exploded in popularity thanks in large part to its welcoming atmosphere and innovative use of the PDGA’s ratings-based virtual tournament platform.

If it’s an even year, that means the world’s largest women’s disc golf happening is on the way.

The 2010s saw exponential growth for both disc golf and the PDGA. We’re looking back on a phenomenal 10 years in our Decade on Display series, where we reflect and reminisce about the sport’s successes both on and off the course. Keep an eye out for more through the end of 2019.
