2016 US Masters

2016 US Masters

A weekend that celebrated the life of a legendary disc golfer came to an end yesterday as 14 players became Tim Selinske US Masters Champions. With many of the divisions in close races heading into the safari-style layout for the final round of 18 at Oak Grove Regional Park, we knew we were in for a treat.

Tee times began at 9:00am PDT and continued on throughout the morning and afternoon, with groups teeing off in eight-minute intervals. The layout for the final round used holes from both the Gold and Purple course, plus a few that were designed specifically for the finals, including a 900’ par 5 to finish.

A 14-division field made up of 270+ players from three different countries has officially been cut down to those fortunate enough to have played well enough to finish in the top 40% after three rounds. Now, with only the final round remaining this morning here in Oak Grove Regional Park, the competitors will need to be on top of their games for a chance to become a 2016 Tim Selinske US Masters Champion.

In 2009, Tim Selinske passed away after a long battle against a very rare type of cancer called Langerhans Cell Histicocytosis. Today, nearly a decade later, we are still celebrating his life at the Tim Selinkse US Masters Disc Golf Championship presented by Innova Champion Discs.

Three PDGA Majors remain in the 2016 disc golf season and this weekend we are proud to celebrate one of the most significant names in the history of the sport here in Stockton, California, USA for the 2016 Tim Selinske US Masters Championships presented by Innova Champion Discs. We’ll get to the competition preview in a moment, but there’s something, or in this case, someone, more important that needs to be mentioned first, the late, great Tim Selinske #2026.
