Rickrolling Redefined
Another Sunday has come to an end and with it comes the end of the sixth PDGA National Tour event of the 2014 season. After three days of intensely close battles at the Fort Steilacoom Open we have several new champions to congratulate. Unlike many of the other National Tour events this year, we were blessed with near-perfect weather the entire weekend. The weather combined with the stacked field of top competitors made for an awesome weekend of championship level disc golf.
Holding Down The Fort
Another afternoon of championship level disc golf action has come to an end as round three of the Fort Steilacoom Open is now officially in the books. Lakewood, WA has treated us well since we arrived a few days ago and today was no exception. The conditions at the park were as close to perfect as we’ve ever seen on the National Tour this year. The wind was calm, the sun was shining, and most importantly, the chance of precipitation was a mind-boggling zero percent.

Straddle Up
If the weather is as good for the rest of the weekend as it was today here at the Fort Steilacoom Open, we’ll be more than satisfied. The 2014 PDGA National Tour has been plagued by horrendous conditions all year outside of the "Steady" Ed Memorial Masters Cup in Santa Cruz, and we’re always happy to see sunshine and calm conditions even at the cost of an occasional and short-lived light drizzle or two. After all, we’re only a few miles south of Seattle, one of the rainiest cities in the country.
PDGA World Rankings - July 2014
Paul McBeth retains a tight grip at the top of the PDGA World Rankings as of July 2014. McBeth recently won the first European Masters major and placed 3rd at the Japan Open. Both Steve Rico and Richard Wysocki moved up from 4th into 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Simon Lizotte made a big move from 11th into 5th.
