IDGC Nuptials

Friday, April 29, 2011 - 22:28

Today was a beautiful Spring day at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, GA - a perfect day for finishing touches on the courses prior to the Hall of Fame Classic, a few quick practice rounds, and a wedding?

Yes, the IDGC has now hosted its first ever nuptials.  Steve Soucie, #12477, and Lori Lale of St. Thomas, Ontario had attended the 2010 Tim Selinske US Masters Championships at the IDGC on April 30th, 2010 and having fallen in love with each other, as well as the facility, they decided to return a year later to have their wedding within its beautiful outdoor setting.

With cicadas in the background as the choir, and with disc golfers, Disc Golf Hall of Famers, and PDGA Staff in attendance, Steve and Lori exchanged their vows framed within the archway entrance of Hole #1 on the “Steady Ed” Memorial course at the IDGC.  As the officiator pronounced Steve and Lori to be Husband and Wife, and Steve kissed his new bride, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers.

After changing into clothes to play a practice round (the honeymoon starts with Steve playing in the Hall of Fame Classic,) Steve and Lori presented PDGA Executive Director Brian Graham with a wedding disc for the wall of the IDGC.

Congratulations Steve and Lori!
