Catch up on 2025 PDGA Masters Worlds

Wednesday, July 2, 2025 - 23:34

After Tuesday's opening round at the 2025 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships presented by ZÜCA, 21 of the 26 divisions in Minnesota were separated by fewer than three strokes.

So it was a given that Round 2 was going to feature some shakeups on the leaderboards in the Twin Cities.\

Jennifer Allen had the hot round of the day at Blue Ribbon Pines in FP40, jumping Ohn Scoggins to take a two-stroke lead into Thursday's round back at BRP. Behind Scoggins in solo second place at 6-under, Sarah Hokom is a 3-under, five behind Allen. Lisa Fajkus, making her Masters Worlds debut, will round out the lead card for Thursday, which will be covered live on the Disc Golf Network.

Cale Leiviska leads MP40 by one stroke.

One leader that didn't change: Cale Leiviska in MP40.

The Minnesota native stayed put at the top of the leaderboard and broke a three-way tie with an 8-under day at Kaposia. But there was plenty of movement behind him. Three-time defending MP40 champion Joe Rovere jumped to the lead card and is one stroke back.

Brandon Cawthorne had the hot round in MP40 on Wednesday.

Two double-digit rounds from Wednesday — Brandon Cawthorne, whose 11-under day jumped him 25 spots, and Brad Schick at 10-under, up 17 spots — will round out the lead card.

The entire chase card is tied for third place with Cawthorne and Schick: Dutch Napier, Alan Janzen, Paul Oman, and Allen Hermosillo.

It's an insanely tight race just 36 holes of the five-round tournament in the books. Both finishes will be covered live on DGN, starting with FP40 on Thursday, MP40 on Friday and both on Saturday.

Juliana Korver and Des Reading are separated by three strokes in FP50.

Three division leaders stayed the same but didn't grow their lead: Juliana Korver in FP50; Ron Convers in MP60; and Gene Kouba in MA75.

Pat Whitworth had the hot round in MA70 to pull into a tie with Round 1 leader Karl Molitoris.

MA40 was the only division of the 26 to have a shuffle and they joined the leaderboard madness: Ben Banbury has a one-stroke lead over Justin Liddell and Bryan Pyle. Tony Lynch made the jump from the D Pool onto the lead card and is two strokes out of the lead. Lynch is the only player in the top 25 to make the jump.
