Steve and Sara look back at the MVP Open on this week’s episode of PDGA Radio. First, it’s a chat about some of Maple Hill’s quirks and how Steve sees the positive in some rules snafus at the last couple big tournaments (2:30). Later, the hosts tackle the issue of sexism on disc golf social media and how the community can be more welcoming for women (31:00).

I am in support of more conversation on the sexism that takes place in disc golf, social media, and disc golf companies. These conversations get to be more in the forefront of all media discussions, media outlets and DG companies(PDGA, DGPT, JoMez, Gateway, Dynamic Discs, Innova, Discraft, etc) and called out.

I read what @Carver had posted. I will not sit here and ponder too much the motive(s) of this individual being a complete jackass and asshole. I can only assume that this person has issues that he gets to work out. It's not my job or anybody else's job to try and fix this guy. However, it is incumbent on all of us to call it out! It should be stated clearly, loudly and emphatically that this type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated from anyone or by anyone.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. Additional conversations around the disparities also gets to take place.

This is not to place the responsibility solely on PDGA, this is a conversation for everyone in the DG community to be aware of and talk more about. But let's be very clear that as PDGA, it has a very big platform in the DG community and can help to lead in this conversation even more so.

If part of what the Values Statement are of PGDA and being members of PDGA include Integrity, Accountability, Transparency, Professionalism, Sportsmanship, Diversity, Personal Growth, Inclusion, and Fun, then let's be more about it!

Thank PDGA, Sara and Steve for shedding more light on this well needed conversation!
