Subject: Suggested Format Change to Powling
Goal: Making each frame more strategic and rewarding straight putts

Today we only track Gutters, Spares and Strikes. We can add 1 more item to the mix�

On a player�s 1st Putt of the Frame, if they hit metal (Basket, Chains or Top) and the putt falls out the player scores a 5 � hit no metal and the player scores a 0 / if the putter stays in the square we follow same format to pick up your spare.

This incents the player to hit metal to increase his score after a spare since a spare only counts the next shot after a spare is scored. This is how it is scored in regular bowling.

This will hurt the people that lay up to get their spare (like me /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) � it does not change the game any except how you report it to the score keeper�

Just a thought � checking w/ V to ensure the program will allow for this (I�m sure it does).

I think I owe somebody a few bucks from that 1st round of powling azzwhupin last night. There were 14 in the first round I got paid $18. Parkinson's won the playoff in round 2, good job. From what I got out of Rusty today was that the "stuff" he was rubbing on people was either water or beer that leaked/spilled onto his shirt last night when it was next to his cooler. At least thats what he thinks it was. But i think If I was one of the ones that got rubbed, I would take a hot shower anyway, just in case. You never know about Rusty!! :o;)

What a great way to say goodbye to the winter course last night. Great friends, great food, and great finish to powling. Really going to miss the powling thing. What is the format? Singles, Doubles, 777? Someone probably said already but you know us old guys we can't remember!

Random Doubles-The Rock

random draw doubles with a twist. we will draw from a hat on what format we play for that day before we draw cards.

3 formats are:
regular doubles all 21 holes
mixed alternating where you both tee (both get ace chances) on each hole then alternate from either shot but you must alt. from there. example LT and I are partners we both drive and chose LT's then I would throw next and alt until you hole out.
7,7,7 format. holes 1-7 regular doubles, 8-14 mixed alt and 15-18 singles. (includes a and b from both tee's)

singles is where you both play your own shots and record the better score. so to save daylight during this format if you cannot better your partners score please pick up and go to the next hole.

So LT will be playing DOUBLES vodka on THE ROCKs with a TWIST of fruit (if harrell is on the card) :D

I hit mine from the long tees and was the only ACE from those tees- so there. :p Little Nicole's ACE was far better than mine as it was her first hole of the tournament-first throw. How cool is that. Maybe Harrell can weazle her into being his doubles partner as they throw the same distance. :D

So what are we playing doubles, singles,skins? :confused:

random draw doubles with a twist. we will draw from a hat on what format we play for that day before we draw cards.

3 formats are:
regular doubles all 21 holes
mixed alternating where you both tee (both get ace chances) on each hole then alternate from either shot but you must alt. from there. example LT and I are partners we both drive and chose LT's then I would throw next and alt until you hole out.
7,7,7 format. holes 1-7 regular doubles, 8-13 mixed alt and 15-18 singles. (includes a and b from both tee's)

singles is where you both play your own shots and record the better score. so to save daylight during this format if you cannot better your partners score please pick up and go to the next hole.
