The Next 10 weeks of league play will help shape the Round Rock Teams. We'll start next week getting the hang of match play with a few weeks where we play 21 holes with 3, 7 hole matches against everyone. Then we'll divide down into the divisional spots & play 3 more rounds 21 holes, 3, 7 hole matches. These 3 weeks we'll be playing for most of the spots on the Teams. There are some dragons that can't make minis & are interested in spots, so not every spot can be decided by this league. By the time that the time changes, we'll have 3 weeks before Teams & we should have the teams decided & be able to set the teams against each other. We'll have to change to the winter course then & will have to start slowly pushing the start time back from 5:30. We've also not completely addressed the 3rd $1 of pay in. Usually it's $1 ace, $1 club, $1 league payout. This league has no clean league payout & several ideas have been passed around as what to do with this $1. Cash CTP's, Teams entry fees, food for the Teams. Not every person playing this 10 weeks will be playing teams, so everyone will have to agree. (This is me laughing my arse off) We only have one am woman right now (Laurie - Smitti's girl) & are looking to send more than one Team, so if we have any others ya'll know about, have them start comin' out. It'd be nice if we had a few people interested in being captains...

Please remember to come early if you have questions abvout match play or TX Teams. I'll have the pay out for Single today - top 3 in each division will get $$. :DWe'll have to move back the start time to 5:00 or 5:15 next week unless ya'll want to flex start.

why the confused face?? you guys were the ones that wanted to pay top 1/3rd and not 40-42%.

Chris the confused face is for the confused people who have questionabout match play & teams.
Oh and just for the freakin' record - we [as a club through several discussions & ultimately a vote on the last night of doubles where we had the largest turn out - that you voted in (and you voted for the change to pay out)] decided to go to top 1/3. Didn't you win this league?

Wow - I NEVER!!! post on Wed after league. What a great night - great temp., great sun set, bad arse match play. Seems like it all went smooth. Holy crap - did we all undstand? If you still have questions, please send me a pm or come early next Wed. We will have to start @ 5:00 next week - too dark too early. If ya'll agree (ha ha) we can flex start cause there's no payout & I don't have to play (but I love to). See ya'll next Wed :) Thanx boys.

I think we should start at 4.
We are kicking around ideas for the next league, which will be starting the week after teams. So far this is what is in the hopper:
putting league-where we all hang out under pavillion and cook and putt for league standings
handicap league-develop handicaps for 4 weeks and then everybody compete in one division for league standings
Please post any other suggestions.

Good shooting last night t2, one week left before the big dance.
Next league is coming soon. Some folks really like the idea of the putting league, while others not-so-much because Wed. is one of there only nights to play golf and they just want to go huk it. So I propose we switch from week to week. We could put 1st and 3rd Weds. and golf 2nd and 4th Wed. Just an idea. Not many other ideas floating around, so please members voice your opinion.

I'm not opposed to running 2 leagues at the same time - 1 for Hukers & 1 for Putters. Those of you who have no real job :p - or ditch out early like me - could play the hukers league, while those of you with real jobs :) could come later & play the Putters league. Just an idea - you know I want to make everyone happy so... :D

I've got Wed afternoons off for rest of year. how about both? hehe
Putting league could start at sundown right about when the fire is started........
how long would it take to do the putting each time? 10 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours?
Lala
Nov 09 2006, 05:35 PM
It would run as a full league, 2 hours or so with points & prizes. I don't mind both, I leave work @ 2:30 & could send the jobless (or off work) out @ 3/3:30 & start the gainfully employeed putters @ 5/5:30. We can look at both maybe. :)

Dec 07 2006, 05:50 PM
I understand there has been some confusion with the last 2 weeks. Here's the will be until the time change - doubles until the end of the time change. $5 entry fee for all $1 ace, $1 club, $3 bet paid to top 1/3 weekly. The extra $1 from each player from the last 2 weeks that would have gone to a league payout will be returned to each golfer next Wednesday. Payout will be done each Wednesday night & any payout not pickup the night it was won will be used for food & or charcoal for the next week (no carry over). Cards will be turned in to Edman or Lala as soon as we exit the course (do not put them on a vehichle, put them in one of our hands) we don't have all night to drag out scoring & payout, so handle you business before you start the parking lot parties. We will begin a series of club meetings on Tuesdays @ 6:00 (the first to be held at our house, bring what you need) - before drinking heavily & not related to the mini. This will be an open forum to discuss upcoming leagues, & the direction the Double R will be taking in 2007. All club members are encouraged to participate, without your input we can not continue to grow happily. Tell the internet challanged club memebers & please PM me with any additional input. Thanx for comin' out.

i played most of the winter course yesterday. The bricks do exist. :D
Nice adjustment on winter #7 (the throw to regular #9's basket).....the box has effectively been moved over a couple of feet to the right....making the RHBH throw require a small amount of turnover to hit the basket. no complaints from this LHBH thrower. :D
