Threw it around the light pole over the road, landed very nice, roll a long way , then into the road. It turned, roll back to me in the road and ended up a back in ....SAFE!

And the crazy part on the slow card was they played 1 less hole then everyone else.... Which is a goodthing as it would have probably added another 20min to their round :o:o:o A round that took 1 hr longer than the rest of the cards...

I have to say that finishing payout when Ed & I weren't even really there was pretty stupid. I understand that some cards play slower - trust me, but the cabinet having to spend an entire day waiting on you people to finish a round and turn in a card is getting pretty retarded. I understand that some of you think that Chris acts an arse after the round is over, and it's really not because he puTT like a dork or drew a sheety partner. For the most part, it's a pretty thankless job supportting the club like the cabinet does. We spend no less than one night a month trying to help guide the bylaws in some kind of reasonable direction, one entire night a week holding ya'lls hand, waiting to recount score cards cause no one knows how to add to 63 +whatever else you threw & tell you that the entry fee for the mini is the same as is has been for the last 3 years, then we get to try and reconcile cash for ace pots, club money, payout, etc. & go back out to do it again Thursday, not to mention spending Sunday waiting on the same 6-12 people to call & say "what time & where do we go" when it's all posted & e mailed to you, so we can tell you that the mini cost the same as it has for the last 5-7 years & readd your scorecard for you again, so we can then go verify you ace pots & club money...

I'm not fussing about the work we have to do, I'm just saying that each of the club members could step up and act like they know what the F they're doing every now and again to allow the cabinet members to enjoy the mini as much as the rest of the club is able to. And don't give me the freakin' line about "I ask if there's anything I can help with", cause if you don't know the entry fee & how to add your scores up, why the F would you be trusted to help do anything. Chris really needs a break - just like I needed one this time last year. Chris - I'll help with sign-up again & Jerry has agreed to help with payout - I know it get old waiting every week when you could be with you family an hour sooner if you weren't waiting on some one to finish or turn in the card they've been holding for 20 minutes.

Just my opinion - sorry if I stepped on anyones dork, but it really is time people to act like grown-ups instead of 3-5 year olds.

I haven't had to run sign up in a year & am happy to help, what we really need is for players to realize how thankless it is to participate at this level and act like they have some kind of idea what's going on & and a motivation to get around the course & turn in their Fing score card. Thanx for the offer V - will use U when we need you. Payout is more the issue than anything else, cause players aren't making an effeort to finish in a reasonable amount of time or to turn in cards totalted correctly once they do make it in.

exactly.. thank you V and Lala for the offer of help. but I am hoping with Keith taking $$, me writing down names, and el chile helping with pay out, I wont be so stressed out having to deal with it all after the round is over. if we could get the players to act like this is a PDGA event and not a mini maybe scorecards would be accurate and turned in within a timely manner. payout is easy its getting the cards with correct scores that seeme to be the problem. and by correct score I mean "65" not +2. :confused:

I think what might be interesting is to rotate sign-up among all members so everyone has a better understanding of what all is invovled with holding a mini...what do you guys think?

Looks like we have people lining up to help out on wednesdays, which is a good thing.......makes me wonder Seewhere, maybe you should have complained sooner.......oh well, its water under the bridge now and the future is in front of us.......one more thing, please please try and not drop 20 dollar bills on us for the wed. mini unless you are paying for 2 or more people as it makes it hard sometimes to do pay-out!! I know this is not written in stone, but sometimes Laura's not there and she has saved us before with the breaking of the 20's... we all know its 5.00 to play every wednesday so try and bring correct change, this too would make things run smoother, and thats what we are striving for, smoothness and relaxing sign ups mean smooth and relaxing rounds no matter who you draw!!! :o:o So lets shot for a great wednesday full of fun, easy sign ups and easy payout's.. :D:D

Well, I just landed on the I.R. list for this week.....While performing yard work (tree cutting) yesterday I sprained my throwing hand thumb and will be unable to play tomorrow, BUT!!, i will still show up and assist with sign up..and might even hang around and caddy or walk with a group or two....just does not seem like a wednesday unless I am on the course :) :) Will bring my stuff with me, but as of right now, thumb is swelled up and painful so will have to see how ice and heat work out today and tomorrow!! :o:o

Went to Buck's Bike's this am to fix cart...was told I was insane and that my idea of fixing cart would never work....bet the guy that if it did he would let me have new wheel for 50 % off....since I have been to the "Russell Mims" school of rigging and passed all classes, i used that knowledge and within 15 mins rolled the fixed cart into Buck's...looked up said expert and showed him that it indeed did work..maybe better than before....after he picked up his jaw off the floor he refunded me 15.00 dollors and was still standing there looking lost as i drove off...........Thanks Russell for the courses in the art of the rig!!! :D:DSee all today... :D

OK - so for the rest of you that couldn't see... Last night we're standing on A-holes T box & the fitness group comes running. Steve's on the box throwing the over the road skip hyzer - so he stands there. The trainer guy is running in the fairway & asks if he's in the way. No - Ur fine & the last few stragglers come past. There's one really slow lady way back on the road so Steve throws. I yell 4 as soon as it leaves his hand & I'l be damned, but it skipped off the road & pegged the sheet out of this lady. She said she was fine, but man that thing had some heat on it. Whoops, geuss you can throw that far. Oh my god, it was funnier that when Hellman hit that lady & Edman threw right behind him at her last year.

So next week hole # 4 will have the OB marked again. so once you pass the new bridge you will have to land back inside the walking path. I pinged the city to find out about **** completion but they do not know how ling that is going to take.

Almost had 2 aces last night-bigarm hit chains on temp B, Tony hit top of short 16. That Wed. ace has been standing for awhile now. No doubt C-dub about ease of play on this layout even with big winds.
I meant to ask around last night about what the regulars thought about switching it up for a singles league the rest of the summer. We even have a women's division now with the 4-5 girls that play every Wed. on the winter course. I'm lucky to play on Wed. so it doesn't matter much to me. Lot's of member's playing tournaments these days and I'm sure it would help there game. This would make it easier for all of us to get more $ from our buddy MyCarroll. :D

I know it would help my game for sure. maybe play 1st weds dubs, 2nd singles and rotate..now how bad would that confuse this already confused crowd.. :o:eek:

How bout instaed of random draw, we draw a format each week. Singles, Doubles, Skins, etc. Let's poll the players next wed @ sign up & see what the masses want.

I guess we have reached the Tiger Wood's rules within the club........just because Jimmy wins every week no matter the weather and shoots 8/9/10 down every week, why Tiger Woods the rest of us.....you can do whatever you want to the course and that guy will destroy it every week no matter who he has to haul around the course... .. :o:o:o:o

I'll be playing the Burke Lake mini tonight. Lots of Ace runs for a lefty because all the holes are short and they all turn right to screw the rightys.

No Aces. Course plays tougher than it sounds. Believe it or not they have a $160 carryover which is about 8 weeks based on the turnout of 22 players tonight. Lots of trees and elevation. Its tight but fair. I did knock down a 100 ft putt 12 ft uphill for bird on a 260 ft hole, NICE DRIVES. They have some long boxes that make it more challenging. I did represent by taking 1st at -7 with my partner. Not much to crow about but it's all I got for now. I'm playing another mini in Arlington tomorrow. Wish me Good Shots!! ROUND ROCK!!!

They took out the 1st 6 holes all under 200 and replaced them with temp holes that they will be using for a Sun tourney. All the temps were 380-520. No aces there but they were in the wide open. Sadly I played the tighter holes better no Pease grip lock tonight

ok so past the bridge, the sidewalk and right of it, is now ob again, great.

what about the other ob line....the one that goes side to side. used to be the trash can....is it still the trash can? I heard someone (you i think) saying that it is right of the sidewalk and is defined by the line from the new bridge railing, over to #5 teebox.

Lets get it all more precisely defined before next mini starts :-) I need to know whether to take a little off my tee-off on that hole so as not to be OB. :D

the inside bridge rail (rail closest to the # 4 basket) straight to the Ricky Wright tree by # 5's tee box. once you pass the imaginary line you will be OB unless you get back to the left side of the sidewalk.

We're not opposed to running a real league - $ has been the issue in the past, not us. $5 buy in doesn't leave much for a league payout. We stopped league when people wanted the price lowered from $7 to $5. Many people have expressed that Wednesday is only for fun & not for the comppetition & many people express - why have a running league when Jimmie & Vinnie - or sometimes Ware - win every league we run... Just the feedback we've gotten in the past - membership has changed a lot over the past year, but people still act the same as the others, so... Can't come on time, don't know where the mini is, don't know how much it costs, can't add their score card, can't finish in the daylight, don't know what holes to play... You know, you see it. Pro am does sound fun, maybe do it without a league payout, just change the format for the next 8 weeks.
