Yes - but remeber we do everything we do for the love of the game & the club. not for the money. :)
& you're right it holds up the mini starting for you & everyone else that's on time so it should go to the club fund not the ace pot which in turn comes back to all the members. Better yet, just come on time & we wont have to figure where it should go.
I don't care what you play - I don't have any doubles tournaments coming up, so I'm not up for doubles. Does sound like you're over due for a break from sign up, so I'm happy to step in after next week for you - whatever format ya'll want.
Due to all the Wilco talk..........is anyone still interested in playing Round Rock today????? I sure hope so as I'm going to be there as well as the Muscle from seawright is coming......see yall there I hope :D:confused: :):D :p ;)

Awesome ctp's last night, thanks Brian G. I've scratched off 2 of the 5 lotto tickets I won and won $40 on one of them.
I might just stick C hole on top of the **** for Outlaws with a temp basket. I don't see us getting out there and doing all the work down in the ivy patch before the event. So we might hold off and not put that one in until after Outlaws.

#2 is way too close to the edge of the water. I'm sure #2 can to put in a much better place. You can not go for the putt because it's by the water. #16 is close to the water also has anyone take into consideration that those holes will be under water?
Lala
Aug 28 2008, 05:38 PM
I did vote & now would like to comment. I agree w/Jerry on the bad placement on 2 due to the puTT factor. Seems like a good hole expect that you can too easily lose your puTTer in the creek - I know lay up, but a hole that by design all but forces a lay up is a stupid hole. I understand the desire to make it challenging & pretty, but it's just too close to the water. It also would have been nice for anyone to have some input (being asked even if no one listens is always nice & yes we all know Vinnie acts & appoligizes later - he's out of town now, let's just move it where we want it this weekend).
As far as the flood issue on 16, I don't think that's as big an issue (again, would have been nice to have had an opportunity to discuss placement). When the Rock floods, it usually takes 16,17, 1 & 2 with it & drops VERY quickly to allow for play again with-in a day or 2. I guess if any of us that don't like it had shown up when he was doing the work, we could have had some input in the placement(unlikely he'd listen to logic however). Just my thoughts.
edman
Aug 28 2008, 08:12 PM
Do what you want with #2 but leave #16 alone, I won $40 there last night. :D2 is close to the drink, a risky run for a 2. I like that you can see it from the box. What I think we should do is set extra sleeves on all the close to the water holes. I know most are welded but we could break the welds and leave those pins there and move them around when the rains came. l'd love to have that long pin on 3 sleeved, I wouldn't need a temp when we play it @ Outlaws every year. If I get the sleeves who will come out and help put them in? I'll get them quick so 3 can be done before the tourney and will do the rest at a later cooler date.

Aug 28 2008, 09:11 PM
I don't want to upset anyone but it's not what th hole use to be like. Maybe we all can vote on a alternate pin placement., and use that pin placement for like a final 9 holes or something like that. ;)
Lala
Aug 29 2008, 09:55 AM
It's not always about what the course use to be like. I'm all about tradition, but sometimes things need to be changed as areas of the course develope & or die off. What I do agree with is people not changing course design off on their own & that changes to the course should at a minimum come from the cabinet if not the general membership. Again, I guess if any of us had gone out when he said he was planting the pins, we'd have room to complain. He did say he was going to do it, he did say when, & he did ask for anyone who wanted to come help. None of us did - not one of us & here we are whinning about it. Seems like if we wanted any real input & or contol over course design, maybe wee could have taken/made the time to have some input rather than complain about what was done. & I don't think you're upseting anyone Jerry, I think for one of the 1st times in club history, we're having a functional discussion.
seewhere
Aug 29 2008, 09:58 AM
I will help sink sleeves let me know when.. and when we use to get rain 17 would be our only casuality and we would play to hole 1. now if we get rain we will need portables for 2 and 16. and I am not one for just playing the winter course as a substitute as the winter course is also lacking anything but hyzers.

?1 answer - hell no, why would he listen to anyone.
?2 answer - 5 minutes after he posts so that no one can get there with an opinion (as if it mattered)
?3 answer - hell yes, I thought that came with membership to the club & that whenever we decide it's our turn we just go move stuff

Also.... When the hell is this so called RR Cabinet going to be finalized so the CLUB can start having an impact on what the CLUB does? I fear the trend of doing something because you want to and letting everyone else just suck it up is happening more and more. There are many intellegent indiviuals whithin the CLUB that are not cabinet memebers that can contribute to DISCUSSIONS but those discussions are not happening. And I don't want any feed back to my post that smells like chit. Leave the chit at home and not on the discussion board.

I like playing to play with ALL MY FRIENDS- Maybe this will lead to more DISCUSSIONS on CLUB EVENTS (not who runs a mini or doesn't) which in turn help the CLUB make better financial decissions since we won't have weekly revenue coming into the club?

i looked at that spreadsheet for about 1 minute before remember why i hate spreadsheets.
if you want it rewritten in a J2EE environment with a web browser front end and Websphere/DB2 back end, i can do that....I do that all day long. But that's really massive overkill for this. :D

Parker - I am thrilled that people are interested in contributing to the betterment of the Dbl R - 1st order of business get the fing club name right. I am excited to see if you will run with things like you did in your first adventure of "I'd like to learn how to run a tournament" this year during TWC. You really grabbed hold of your tasks and ran with them there. The players party you were to take hold of & coordinate came together at your hand spectacularly - Oh wait, Edman ended up having to set that up too because you dropped the ball. If that's your example of leadership, I can hardly wait to see how your contributions as a potential cabinet member will contribute to the club & membership satisfaction. Sorry to chit on you DISCUSSION, but really get a [censored] clue.
As stated in previous club e mail, the bylaws & nomination forms will be available to the membership via e mail & @ the mini one week prior to the club party on November 1st. Each article will be voted on electronically or in person by the 1st & either ratified into the bylaws, or subject to further amendment by the cabinet. 2 spots from the existing cabinet will also be up for election at that time via a ballot system made from member nominations.
This process has been quite arduous, as were starting out with nothing & looking to have a workable governing document that will not need to continually be amended I know it sounds easy, but get a clue. I hope you are as successful in you new found role as you anticipate. You try and make 70+ people happy. You'll see it's not about what you want once you get in place. P.S. I am not trying to have this be laiden with sarcasm, I'm actually sincere.

Happy to wiegh in on this as well...
I am all for trying to recoup some of the club cost for the concrete:
Not sure I agree that we lump the full responiblity on the AMs - might have been something discussed before the club stepped up that AMs will be paying???
I play because I need the pratice and I like the people that show up...
- I have gotten paid a few times - typically almost enough to cover my entry
- Have yet to hit an Ace that got paid
At the end of the day I am happy to pay the Club Dues just to hang out and play w/ friends & CTPs - but not even sure that is allowed
Not in it for the money....

Please be at Skins tomorrow Laura as I have something to say to you in person.
Please feel free to speak to me in public as you do @ skins. Don't worry about the moderator, or being put on probation on the board, it'll be OK. Plus, why would we want to take something you've thrown out to the world & then privatize it. Either keep it to yourself, or throw it out here on the bus stop where you threw the cabinet. Everyone deserves the same resolution, not just you & I at skins.
I do understand frustration from you & other members. You (the ones I hear with ideas) have no idea where this club began & the work it has taken to evolve it to this level of organization (SERIOUSLY). If you feel the need to ridicule the few people that have consistently worked to help move things in a direction - even if it's not the one you agree with - you (those people - not just you) can kiss it.
& as far as the prize for the Outlaw raffle - blow me. Neither the cabinet nor Ed & I get any benefit from Outlaw's - NOTHING. We just stick our necks out there (again) & work our [censored] off so that jackasses like you can enjoy a well run event at world class courses.

Couple observations and question:
- Post Outlaws - what will the Wednesday Mini format be? We continue singles thus the plastic payout to Am or do we go back to Random Draw Doubles?
- Observations: It's my guess we tend to lose some interest from some of the golfers when we do Singles Play - why??
- I would imagine that 80% of all Pro payout (since we are speculating only Pros get cash) go to our top 20% of Pros which makes perfect sense
- Disclaimer I did no research on validating that Vinnie, Jimmy, Chris or Jerry take home the lions share of Pro Payout /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
- Its my thought that Random Draw Doubles gives me an opportunity to draw a top golfer and have an opportunity to win as well or one of these top golfers draws me and takes them out of the money :o
- Last Observations: Lala sometimes the responses from your keyboard sting and might keep some folks from commenting on the board Hell I had to open Word so I could use spell checker  (I know we give the most crap to those we love) And its just a comment so tell your keyboard to be nice to me :D:D:D
Lala
Sep 12 2008, 12:15 PM
? 1. - I don't know.
Observation # 1. - many players come to the mini just for fun & singles @ the Rock is too much for them - not my words, those that I've heard. I think doubles all year sucks, but what I think doesn't favor what most want. I play to get better, that's not what everyone comes for.
As for the keyboard - I feel good with what I've said; Parker came & attacked a board member - a board member that may have been too quick with his payout idea, but a board member none the less. There's no justification in slamming the few people that have followed up on things in this club. I don't think I've said anything any worse or hurtful than Parker - or any other member. I open word & use spell check too & still regularly make errors - I don't however use the word intelligent in a personal attack on a group & misspell it.

You are so far off. Anyway, I was going to tell you in person that you are full of chit and are the sole reason why numerous people do not play with us, do not enjoy the RR and basically that you are an unproffesional represention of Disc Golf. God forbid a discussion on club issues happens before any actions take place. You talk like the cabinet is the fkcin law or something. A cabinet that more than one member doesn't even want their position anymore.(I wonder why) Its funny how I "attacked"a board member-who just so happen to call me after I attacked them and we chatted it up. My inbox is flooded with indiviuals that feel the same as I do. You are the colon cancer of the RR club. Go ahead and keep the TWC shirt that you have been trying to give me for some time. Two-faced is not my color.

Hopefully that will incite some action on any of their parts. I will continue to do the best I can with-in my means as treasurer for the double R & will be happy to pass quarter tracking on the next fool who says they're ready to deal with this type of appreciation for their hard work. God knows that nothing is being neglected in my personal, professional, or golf life in order to help the club continue to grow. As for the 2-faced comment - FU. I am the most upfront honest person I know obviously to a fault. NOTHING 2-faced here. Just need to learn to better sensor my thoughts - oh wait, that'd be 2-faced.

Instead of bashing on the board you all need to go out back behind the woodshed and settle your differences. This is public forum and the fact that you must all feel obligated to air your laundry is very inmature. You were looking to improve the formulas....whats up?
i got to thinking about that last night.....wish i had the time to write a GUI based app that basically does what the bowling scoreboard does at an alley......lets you start a new game, add users, and then take score on a frame by frame basis.....calculating score would be easy, any time a cell is changed, you calculate the new running total for that cell and all cells to the right of that one. That would be a fun app to write, in a nerdy kind of way. Again, wish i had the time. :-/
I'll be there at 4 with a cold one!
Holy snakeskin......were did all this mud slinging come from??
Jumping Jesus, what really started this mess in the first place? Plastic for Am's???? I might be wrong here, but have not voted or seen anything CONCRETE that say's this is going to happen....I thought it was just a thought about how to help out with club expenses occured from Wilco concrete job......everyone needs to chill, take a deep breath, relax, have a little alone time and think about whats really going on here........and it sounds like nothing to do with am's getting plastic instead of cash....now its gotten personal and thats not going to do anyone good!!! Like Ed-Man said, take this behind the woodshed and get it over-with.....please ;) ;)
