Yea I got it today, I have to say i believe it one of the nicest shirts yet!(My Fav is the 3/4 air force). It runs a little small compared to the other anvil stuff but im still loseing weight so I am making it a "goal" shirt. But now I went on the web site and saw some new stuff . I might need you to keep some sizes for me until i get there. I will shoot you a email later

BTW for anybody reading this order from Twisted Flyer. I have ordered gear from almost every store there is and i cant say anything bad about any of them but Joe is a Step above.

I live in NC and order my stuff from OK. That should tell you something.

Next week will be a BIG work week in the evenings. We still have plenty to do but are on our way to getting it done.

I rented a mower this morning and did hole 1, Bougher showed up and took over, we will mow all of the fairways that the big mowers can't hit. We need some debris clean up done on #10 redhawk so that the mower can clean it up and on alternate #8 black hawk.

. On Monday we will finish the dirt work and start spreading the mulch that was delivered. Still need to lop some limbs and we NEED people with weed eaters to touch up around the tee pads and baskets.

As soon as all of the tee signs arrive I will put out the call for help. We will split up with two volunteers going to each course so that we can knock those out quickly.

If you can volunteer out at Haikey get in touch with Wayne Forest, there is still some clean up work out there.

If you are going to be at Hunter, take some trash bags and clean up through the woods, its looking pretty Ghetto out there right now. For the most part take trash bags to any course you are going to and lets get them cleaned up.

If you can help but aren't sure what you can do, give me a call 232-8562 and I will get you what you need to work.

Unfortuantely, I have been told that Iowa had more than we do this year. I was told they had something like 497 AMS and 80 Jr's. But that was also a combined Pro/Am event, this is Am only. So we may have a record for that. :(

Well Tulsa it looks like all your hard work is paying off. 554 and counting. Just remember to be understanding and kind. With 554 + not everyone will be happy all the time(Its hard enough to do that at a 90 peson C-tier.) I am still 18hours away but i can already feel a great positive vibe.

This may have been covered already. I was looking at the schedule, how can you have a shuffle with the MM1 pools when they haven't played the same courses. The two MM1 pools play the Mohawk courses on Tuesday and on Wednesday one pool plays Hackey and the other plays Hunter and then the shuffle. That dosn't seem quite right.

Well my nice offices have now been turned into a wharehouse. UPS just delivered another 68 boxes and they weren't little ones. They have been delivering like that for the last week. There is now only room for one person to move from the front to the back of our offices. :o

Unfreaking believable. :o

We are going to need several pickup trucks at my office Friday at 4:00pm. If you have a trailer bring that too. I'm serious when I say there is several tons of stuff to get out of here.

The up side is, I now have the SWEETEST personal pro shop known to any disc golfer.

Stocked, with Innova, Discraft, Latitude 64, Lightning, DGA, Revolution, baskets of all sizes and colors, Inncolors, super colors, you name it, we have it. :D

IT MAY NOT SOUND RIGHT... BUT IF YOU PLAY ALL THE SAME COURSES IT SHOULD WORK OUT AT THE END.

twoputtok
Jul 21 2006, 09:06 AM
Not a problem. Yes, there will be one course that each MM1 pool hasn't played before the shuffle, but the shuffle isn't the cut. The cut is Friday night and both pools will have played the same courses before the cut.

Some one who is worried about the shuffle is like a team worried about their seeding. If you play well, does it really matter? ;)

I suppose not, but there is a certain psychological advantage to being on "the lead card".
The possibility will exist that someone who would be on the lead card if all pools had played the same courses won't be on the lead card because they had to play Haikey before the shuffle.
You are correct- it all works out in the end. As long as everyone realizes that then it won't be a problem.
It certainly does add an interesting dynamic to what is going to prove to be an incredible Worlds for the Advanced Masters, and everyone else.
I'm getting fired up and I'm not even playing! :D

kyle

If a player in the F pool moves to the G pool he plays Hunter twice and never playes Haikey.

If a player in G pool moves to the F pool he plays Haikey twice and never playes Hunter.

The only ones that play both are the players that stay in their pool.

I haven't looked at the schedule, but if the above is true, then this is a real problem and it won't work out in the end because not everyone in the division will have played the same courses the same number of times.

And it's not just the lead card that is affected. Making the cut, making the merch, making the top 10/20/50/half are all legitimate goals for good players who aren't expecting to win but want to make a good showing for themselves. (i.e., the spirit of competition.)

Has anyone contacted the Competition Director?

If the above quoted stuff is true, I don't think you can shuffle the MM1 division.

Couldn't help but post this and I am sure it was all done in fun if any of these players were bothered by the remarks ( I didn't make this list up), but it was also so funny I had to share

Here is my top 10 list. Enjoy...

1. Chris Hutchinson 978
This horse has all the tools and is on a big win streak. Great golfers mentality and is a Tulsa local hero. Solid putter. 20 to 1
2. Billy Lund II 977
Has impressive resume with one of the longest arms in field. That should help at Mohawk in Finals. Local Player. 22 to 1
3. Jake Norrell 993
This 2 year old, seldom run colt may have superior breeding (similar to Coda Golfus Erectus). Highest rating in field but lowest PDGA number. 25 to 1
4. Michael McMillan 986
Has won 3 Pro tourneys in 2005 and done well this year. Could suprise from the land of the midnight sun. 30 to 1
5. Jeremy Ohlheiser 948
Long shot with lowest PDGA number in field which shows experience. A taste of victory in 06 and a 2nd at the Mohawk warmup will give confidence. Well prepared with great work ethic, this thorough bred (from the Hyzer
clan) is hungry. Must keep focused with no destructive activities. 35 to 1
6. Devon Owens 971
Local Tulsa boy will have no problem with course management and has had a taste of pro money. 40 to 1
7. Richard Thompson 978
This La Mirada product is the pride of the West Coast. A west coast product won the AM Worlds in 93. May suprise. 40 to 1
8. Dustin Allen 965
Recently has moved up in class and is coming off a nice Norman Pro Am win. This Yukon product has played sparingly but has big potential that could awaken in the finals. 40 to 1
9. Billy Moody 939
This large and strong stallion has had a good pro career and should do well against these 3 year olds. Must stay away from the nose candy in case of bleeding. Local knowledge is big plus since he used to stable across from McClure. Recently relocated to Austin. 45 to 1
10. Joe Rotan 953
A well traveled gelding that has only competed against Texas players this year. He has a good diverse game but hand flyaway during putts could be hard to control, expecially if he can't avoid excessive mental euphoria. Promotion Director duties my cause ADD also. 50 to 1

Heard there was a great recognition of the volunteers efforts for worlds last night.... Tulsa truly went out of its way to prepare for this event, there was a lot of sacrifice by many involved.

Certainly everyone who pitched in cannot be recognized...

BUT how in the world do leave out one of the TDs of the Worlds course - a guy that worked as hard as anyone on numerous work days - AND single-handedly raised thousands of dollars for the effort???

not sure who you meant , but I have an idea. There will be lots of people that don't get mentioned, and it sucks, but it can happen. I forgot one person ONE time and boy did I hear it. I apologized and went on. The important thing is the person knows they did what they could. Man, I am just overwhelmed by the awsome people and sponsors and volunteers and all else who helped in this huge event as it is now under full swing. But I am curious if anyone has heard from barr or green. 2 former td's , and havent seen or heard from either. They may still show up

It was my major mistake and I immediately apologized for it. Before you judge anyone for a mistake Jeff, try handleing everything we have had to do last minute without missing any details. The people recognized were for their work not how much $$$ they raised for the event. No administrators were included with my recognition. As for your statement calling it out here, well that is just as freaking weak. :(

Hey Mike I tried to opologize and explain to you I didn't know how I could have done that and that I was extremely sorry that I screwed up. But as I can see by your posts, and the fact you continue to bring it up after I have tried to apolgize more than once,my apology wasn't really accepted.

Sorry dude, my apology was sincere and that is all I can do, obviously that isn't good enough.

never claimed I could do better - and certainly am not diminishing the efforts of everyone involved, especially those that were recognized for their efforts - THEY DESERVE IT. They worked their tails off and it shows.

Was not calling anyone out in particular, but if you take responsibility and apologized for it -- good.

Dave - you are one of the first to rush to the board to criticize - be ready to take it in return. As you said this was a MAJOR mistake and the excuse that 'we could not name/remember everyone' is a joke and makes an apology seem less sincere.

I would imagine that he petitioned the PDGA to regain his Am status. Outside of doubles tournies (where he most likely played with McCoy) he won $25 over four years, and his rating is well below 955.

He certainly did a lot to help the Tulsa club over the years and probably thoroughly enjoys playing this tournament.

The current PDGA policy is no strings attached for Am reinstatement. It's based on a judgment call by the Competition Director who takes a variety of factors into account when a formerly pro player is reclassified as an Am. That player has immediate amateur status with no restrictions.

Considering that our current Ams are basically semi-pros winning lots of merch instead of cash, reinstatement isn't that big of a deal. If we had true Am divisions and true Pros winning lots of cash then maybe some restrictions might be relevant. Until then, it's just players switching from plastic money to paper money and back. Seems like the choice of paper or plastic pertains to bagging whether disc golf or supermarkets, eh?

so Chuck what does this mean in the divisions guide.

Reclassification
A player may change classification from amateur to professional status at any time by contacting the PDGA Office. A player may
request reclassification from professional to amateur status by petitioning the PDGA Competition Director. Players who are
reclassified from professional to amateur are not eligible to compete in all PDGA Amateur Major Events (World and US but will be eligible to do so in the following year.
Reclassification within Amateur divisions (for example, from Intermediate to Advanced or vice versa), is based on updated player
ratings.

off subject how is Billy M playing in the am worlds???

CW,

You need to drop the Billy Moody playing am stuff, cuz if it wasn't for B. Moody the Tulsa Disc Golf FAMILY would not be the strong family that it is to be able to run these Worlds.

The Oklahoma Open would have never been as succesful as it has been if not for Billy. He was the one who went out and got us our 1st title sponsor Hideaway Pizza. HE was the one that was going to the McCLure council meetings once a month to get that $1000 added to the Doble O each year. He is the one who spent his money to feed everyone at his Moody's Monthly Full Moon Mini that raised $1000's of dollars for the last 5 Oklahoma Opens.

The MMFMM has brought the tulsa golfers together once a month to share a certain comroderie that built a strong relationships. Those relationships combimed together to run one of the most successful Am Worlds in history.

If it wasn't for Big Bill's generosity Hunter wouldn't of been in the ground for another 2 years. He stepped up to the plate and paid for the baskets and let the club re-inburse him when we could....It would have taken 2 years of fund raiser to afford to but 18 baskets for Hunter.

Sure Billy has been playing Open for 5 years but he has also been donating back to the game. He's only cashed once since 01 other than being my partner at Green Country Dubs here in Tulsa. Billy is a member of the PDGA Ace Club and you see what kind of donation that is when you register for the PDGA each year.

I am the one who suggested to Bill to try and get reclassified to AM just so he could play in this event. After all the things he has done for this town and the game he deserved a VIP spot into the tournament. Because if it wasn't for him and his efforts we would have NEVER been able to pull something like the Worlds off.

His rating is 939....That was lower than nearly half of the players
in AM1....call out the TRUE SANDBAGGERS!!!

Billy has done more for Disc Golf in the city of Tulsa and put in his contributions to the game to deserve the right to be VIP anytime he is in TULSA!

If you still have a problem with Big Bill playing at this event then YOU CAN KISS MY CHOCOLATE STARFISH!!! ;)

I want to thank the players, and their friends and families, for coming to Tulsa and making it possible for me to give back a week of my life to the sport that has done so much for me.
You made me feel important, and that my efforts were appreciated. I thank you all for the experience and wisdom that I gained.

I want to thank the TDSA for the many things that they did to show their appreciation for the efforts of all of the volunteers. I never went hungry, or thirsty- nor did my son.
Every concern, or issue, raised by me, or the players, was addressed fairly and quickly.

I spotted Hole 10 at Blackhawk for 10 rounds. :o
I spotted a total of over 600 drives off of the Black/White tees. :o:o
I retrieved over 100 discs from the pond so that players could continue their round with that disc- and so that they would not have to take the time and effort to retrieve it. :o:o:o
I had the honor of being the scorer, and carrying the scoreboard, for the 13 and under Boys final. I was amazed by the skill of these 4 future superstars. :o:o:o:o

To our "host family"- You are perfect examples of why I love the disc golf community so much. You opened your arms, and your home, to us for an entire week. Words cannot express my gratitude. I'm not mentioning you by name because I don't want to screw up a good thing. :D

Whether you came to play, to watch, or to volunteer, Tulsa's 2006 Am Worlds was an incredible experience.

Also note the last person listed as cashing. He is your current World Champion, the same guy that made the 70 footer in the finals. :o

I'd bet you made one put for all your points. :D

Actually I made three 1 pointers and one 2 pointer. Connors was there and we both got to 5 early with about 4 or 5 putts left but neither of us could chain any after that. :( ...At that point the leader score was 8.

Nice shooting Thong.

Wow! I saw I cashed with my ONE 1 pt putt. I wasn't at the awards ceremony (tried to get some family time in before my folks headed back to FL on Sunday).
Anyway, I would like to just donate my $8 back to TDSA if that's okay.
Thanks!
