The current PDGA policy is no strings attached for Am reinstatement. It's based on a judgment call by the Competition Director who takes a variety of factors into account when a formerly pro player is reclassified as an Am. That player has immediate amateur status with no restrictions.

Considering that our current Ams are basically semi-pros winning lots of merch instead of cash, reinstatement isn't that big of a deal. If we had true Am divisions and true Pros winning lots of cash then maybe some restrictions might be relevant. Until then, it's just players switching from plastic money to paper money and back. Seems like the choice of paper or plastic pertains to bagging whether disc golf or supermarkets, eh?

OH MY GOODNESS !!
How many levels of funny all in one post.
indeed you are the master of understatement.
Next thing you know all ams will want to be paid in gift cards!

Wow. What can I say every dog has its day. Just wanted to say what a great week it was last week. Getting to meet new friends and watching our great club put on the best show that I've been to. Wish I could come up with better way to describe the event, but you just had to be there to feel all the good vibes coming from everyone.

Good times all week made for rough mornings!

What I did on my Am Worlds Vacationby Furdog!!!

Sunday:
I woke up.
Then I went to the hotel and hung around.
I could tell there were out of town disc golfers in town because someone had run over a bunch of orange barrels at the hotel exit ramp. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Met Steve Mills. (Funny but I thought he would be bigger.)
I got cool volunteer shirts and cool volunteer goodies.
It was a good day. Everyone scored.

Monday:
I woke up.
Then I went to Dovillo to run water for the Mixed Doubles and juniors.
I backed into the cable and scratched my truck. :(....Must have been the same cable that got Rieger.
Then I waited for the water jugs to arrive.
Then I spent the day watering Dovillio and McClure.
It was a good day. Nobody passed out. :)

Later I delivered beer cups to the Event center because no one could drink beer without me.
Then I won a golden shovel but forgot to get anyone to sign it. :(
Afterwards, Twoputt asked me if I could come to his house in a couple of weeks and help him dig a hole for his new swimming pool. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Tuesday:
I woke up.
Then I went out to Mohawk.
I waited for the ice machine to arrive.
I got tired of waiting and finally drove to Quick Trip and got ice.
Later in the day I got bored and backed my truck up in an effort to run over a junior. :o
But I missed and hit a wooden post instead and put a big dent in my rear quarter panel. :(
I told my insurance company that someone tried to do the Pit maneuver on me while I was driving down the highway.
That night in an effort to suppress my depression I maxed out my credit card at the Fly Mart. :)....I felt better.
It was a good day. Nobody died. :)

Wednesday:
I woke up.
Then I went to water the players at Mohawk.
High paws to all those guys that stood out in the hot field at the distance contest.
Watched Twoputt choke and get a zero on the putting contest. :o

Father/Son relationship of the week:
Martin Norris (a player) sends his son James (a spotter) across the snake infested creek to retrieve his disc. James said he only saw three snakes on the other side. Now thats love.
It was a good day. Nobody got bitten. :)

Thursday:
I woke up.
Then I watered the Ams at Mohawk.
Then I hung out in the ice machine, drank Gatorade, and took dog naps.
Later I tied for 14th place in the putting contest and improved my image as a local superstar.
It was a good day. Nobody had to dial 911. :D

Friday:
I woke up.
Then I went out to hydrate the Top Ams at Mohawk.
I watched Jay and Des give an Edge demonstration to three local teachers.
I think they were impressed. One of them asked me for an autograph. :)
I didnt have the heart to tell her Jerry Garcia was dead so I gave her one.
In the afternoon Jose sent me over to the hotel to pick up trophy baskets.
Unfortunately a large portable and a mini basket fell out of my truck and rolled into my backyard.
When I got to Mohawk they had mystically reappeared. :(
Sucks to be honest. But it was a good day. Nobody stole anything. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Saturday:
I woke up.
Final day as Hydration Engineer. :(
The spirit of peace, love, and Disc Golf was everywhere. :)
Met some great people and had a lot of fun. :D
Afterwards I got to see the fruits of my labor payoff when Wise, McCoy, Courtney, Forest, & Jose got doused with buckets of ice cold water.
It was a great day. Everyone went home wet. :D

I really think I had more fun volunteering than I would have if I had played. Thanks to all you players, sponsors, and green shirts that made my week at Am Worlds a blast.

I don't see US competing with Baylor for 5th place in the South, Aggie

As long as this doesn't get worse (please Jesus), losing Bomar isn't really as big a deal as you might think. I'm not saying Paul Thompson's the answer, but we don't need a Bomar-type character guy on this team. Better to remove the parasite before it digs in deeper.
This guy and anyone else selfish enough to be involved are a disgrace to the team

Oh yeah...BEAT TEXAS :D

Wow - OU is trying to be an upstanding citizen and act ethical. BS - This doesn't appear much different than the Switzer era.

Gundy - He won't get fired in his 2nd year. OSU fans may be forgetting that we hadn't gone to three straight bowl games since the mid-80's. So, give if time my young red-one.

My prediction
OU will have lots of felonies and misdemeanors this season
OSU - another losing season with a few victories over the powderpuff D II schools on our schedules. :D

Well i have been back about a week and i am still trying to digest the golf and all the the wonderful happenings in Tulsa. One thing i wanted to do was rank the courses, when i thought about this I took into account the challenge of the course, the look of the course, was it player friendly, etc. Granted this is just one persons opinion but I have found
its always nice to get a outsiders point of view. So here we go:

1. Blackhawk
2. Haikey
3. McClure
4. Redhawk
5. Hunter
6.Dovilo

None of the courses were "bad". but thats how they rank in my eyes.

Hey Ef, had hoped to see you up for the worlds, but I understand commitments.

I dunno what I did, probably just pulled something badly, but early enough (2nd round) that I was able to use it as an excuse for how badly I played. I didn't begin the tournament playing very well anyway, so I doubt it kept me out of contention, but it hurt nonetheless. As Jason said, I'm just old. 4 1/2 more years to play with the old timers!

I've already thanked you fine Tulsa people for hosting us and putting on a great event (I'm still telling stories...and not only about the tick that got me in the back of the head...).

Here is my list of "Lemons and Lollipops" from the forum on our local site at www.odgc.ca (http://www.odgc.ca)

I am in Quebec City after arriving home on Sunday 24 hours after leaving Tulsa. Arthur was a machine behind the wheel. He drove at least 20 of the 24 hours. At least we know that if there is another good tournament in Tulsa, we`re 24 hours driving time away. That`s a weekend trip for the Pengelly`s :D

Lemons

-Denny`s ran out of bacon
-The Rib Crib ran out of baby back ribs
-The hotel ran out of internet
-I left three discs in Tulsa (Red MaceMan Valkyrie, KC Pro 10x Eagle*, Blue DX Orc with the ODGC logo) all during practice rounds
*I think this disc was telling me that it was time for it to go. I lost it at JCP for a while, too.
-missed out on the Six Flags park outside St. Louis
-player`s meeting
-3.2% "beer"
-taking a double circle seven while Shawn Sinclair watched during round 1
-not playing smarter golf
-Juniors running the hotel pool
-coming 5 points shy of "Eagle" in the Skill Shot challenge
-too much gear, not enough $$$

Lollipops

-succeeded in goal number 1: DON`T FINISH DFL
-succeeded in goal number 2: MEET LOTS OF GOOD PEOPLE
-succeeded in goal number 3: HAVE LOTS OF FUN
-succeeded in goal number 4 (given to me by Arthur): BEAT THE AUSSIE
-great drive down and back with Arthur.
-the wall of soft drinks at the QT
-Breakfasts at Bob Evans (http://www.bobevans.com/)
-Crooked X (http://www.bobevans.com/)
-Sonic Burger
-Ribs
-The courses (esp. Hunter)
-The concrete teepads
-The player`s pack
-Meeting and chatting with touring pros like Ken Climo, Juliana Korver, Shawn Sinclair, Jay and Des Reading, Courtney Peavey
-disc golf skirts /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
-getting LOTS of good photos
-playing most rounds above my (meagre) rating
-Breeze
-speaking in the third person
-Justin`s ***** cracker in the pool
-Mace remembering my name
-not having to "sit b!tch"
-kicking Carl`s #$*&$! at "shotgun"
-3 consecutive birdies in my last round
-finding reasons to hand out my PDGA business cards
-carrying the swamp at Hunter in the wind. Yeah, Orc!
-scoring a 4 on a par 5 at Haikey

BIGGEST LOLLIPOP

By far, the best part was getting the opportunity to spend an extended amount of time with some good people. This was something I`d not been able to do until now. I thank Arthur, Dawn, Carl, Stefan, Dave Slater, Melissa and Mark for making my time in Tulsa so enjoyable. I`m already looking forward to Kalamazoo in 2008.

"I`ve never been to Heaven, but I`ve been to Oklahoma"

Thanks, again!! Your work was truly appreciated!

We at TDSA and so many other people worked our butts off and sacrificed so much in order to make this years Worlds Tournament the best it could it could be. Week after week many of us could be found ankle deep in cement, cutting grass, removing tree limbs, picking up trash, keeping vandals away, countless hours on phones and much much more. All for the sport we all love. So I say to anyone that has a complaint please visit our newly created Complaint Department. :D:D:D
