Course Reviews
I learned to play on this course and I think the other reviewers are a little too harsh. This course will teach you to throw low and controlled shots. In fact, people still ask me how I keep my disc low but still with distance: The answer is Westover. Grooming yourself to play this way can be frustrating, and picking discs out of trees and/or hitting trees HARD from the tee will make you cuss more than once, but the course is a great place to tighten up your drive. And it's a good hike up and down some hills.
Damn this course to hell.
Pros:
Cons: Tee pads were excavated with a backhoe, trees & low ceilings throwing uphill, and basically this course sucks.
Only reason it gets 2 links is because I love disc golf, even if the course is crap.
pro: fun to play, gotta have talent to get under, can check out hot girls at pool within view
cons: tee pad divots, shooting way up hill the first 9 holes, scattered trees leaving no route to the basket (a few holes), pavilions with civilians real close on front 9 lookin to get hit while eatin a dogger
This course is a nice challenge, but not very interesting. Every shot is straight ahead, through a bunch of trees. Some elevation as it is on the side of one hill. Not marked very well. No place to lose a disc though.
This course is located out the back of a rec center. The rec center was very helpful and provided me with a course map. It is nice to see that sort of support.
pros: this course has taught me to throw low. The majority of the holes are in a lightly wooded area with a low ceiling. Even the holes that have some open space (12,13) require you to throw out of the trees, or into the trees. Unlike most courses there is no undergrowth on this course. So even though there are lots of trees, if you get off of the main lane, you're not in the deep brush.
Cons: I think the biggest downside to this course is the tee pads. they are all gravel, and many have divots. Many of them are unlevel. Also the course can see a bit of traffic.
Other thoughts: This course is a lot of fun to play. new tee pads would be a huge improvement. I think they have done well with the space they have for the course. Maybe not a championship course, but good for a challenging round.

This is my home course and the course I learned to play on. It’s tough for a beginner because of the low ceiling’s and tons of trees. But it’s so much fun. It’s demanding but rewarding. If your in the area of Harrisonburg and want a tough but fun course this is the one to come to. You won’t regret it
