Course is not marked, or is poorly-so. Pins have been moved and are mismarked.Lots of room for a great, long course, but this isn't it.

PROS:
Currently the only 18 hole course in the area. Nice clean park that is well groomed. Low traffic which is nice since there isn't a practice basket you can use 18 or 1. Good for driving practice. Water hazards give the course a moderate challenge. Fun course to bring a beginner or a date. Good for night golf. Multiple tee boxes.
CONS:
Old style disc golf course made in an established park. Wide open without many trees to navigate making it too easy for experienced players. Watch out for dog sh!t. Poor signage, natural tee boxes, and picnics can hinder the fun.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
I recommend playing Southern Oaks twice instead if you want a challenge, and to see the direction disc golf courses are going today. Austins Colony and Oaks Park are also good alternatives. Again, Research Park is a good course for driving practice or to introduce new comers to the game.

Research park is a fun course with a few different variation going on. Water comes into play on holes 1,10 if you throw too far, 11 & 17, these are all the long tee boxes. If you don't have the arm to get over the water you can play from the short tees. Holes 2,11,13&17 from the longs are all over 400ft. To sum it up the course is wide open with many different routes to each basket no mandatories, road is OB water as well. The only thing I can say I don't like about this course is there are no concreate tee pads it is considered a temporary course by Texas A&M. If you feel like throwing longer than regular longs there is a Gold position for every hole there are maps on every regular tee box to tell you where the gold placement is. Tom Yocky designed it and drew the maps. Well if you make it out there have fun and stay dry!!!

Great course. Has it's challenging holes, and can really wear you down in the back 9, but overall it is an enjoyable and challenging course.

This is a great course. It has a nice array of long holes mixed with trees and open fields. The course has both long and short tee boxes for most holes. The water can be tricky at times but for the person confident in their throwing ability the water will never be a factor. Although there are a lot of disc in the water so beware of the wind and your personal abilities. The water on hole 18 will eat your disc all day so be careful not to throw too long from the tee box.
