Playing over 3 years since the last review, the pedestrian traffic problem has not changed! I have never played on a course with more traffic ever. Had to wait to throw on most holes, sometimes for 3 different waves of walkers, runners, dogs, cyclists. Without the traffic, the course would probably be a lot more fun, but that is a serious obstacle to overcome.

If you like to hit people with discs, this is the course for you. Set in a scenic city park, you'll enjoy all of the natural beauty of an Indiana prairie as you accidentally pop unsuspecting pedestrians all day long. This course promises hours of uncomfortable confrontation with park patrons. Be prepared to apologize profusely to a fellow outdoors enthusiast, breathlessly attempt to explain disc golf to a group skeptical teenagers, and endure the shame-enducing stares of mothers as they wipe the tears from little Johnny's weeping eyes. Joggers, walkers, dozens of children in brightly-colored jerseys - the fun never ends! And if you can drive with solid distance, you have an opportunity to hit someone on 16/18 holes! Your lawyer will be thrilled with your decision to play at Northwestway!

Hyperbole aside, the course layout is a significant problem. I'm not sure who was responsible for coordinating the park's features, but they failed miserably on this one.

The obvious that can't be overstated: The course runs through a busy city park, many of the holes, no, most all of the holes play alongside a paved path used by joggers, skaters, bikers, you name it. You will spend some time, possibly a considerable amount of time waiting for traffic to clear.

The bad: Many of the holes are carbon copies of each other. Holes one through six are arguably identical save for varied lengths. Later you'll move into the wooded area, thick with underbrush which make a lost disc a definite possibility on an errant drive. This wooded section also gets repetitive as most holes are simply varied length, with the path on the right and thick woods on the left (and the right too). Also the signage is minimal/poor, but is largely forgivable as the holes have an unmistakable flow.

The good: The tee pads are sweet, large and concrete, and the park is clean, esp for a city course. There are a couple of fun and unique holes on the course. I'd probably keep six or eight of them and scrap the rest if it were my course. While I would play this course again, I wouldn't go out of my way to play it. There are many better courses in the area.

This can be a fun course. There is quite a variety in hole length, and the tight fairways can make the course challenging. There are some especially long holes that are great for ripping some serious drives.

Unfortunately, as stated in the other reviews, the course closely follows a walking path and snuggles up to several soccer fields, a parking lot, and some busy stretches of road. I would never play this course without at least one person to scout for people on the path ahead.

Also, the OB tends to be pretty severe. If you decide to shoot for the edge of the fairway to avoid people (which you eventually will talk yourself into doing after waiting for 10 minutes for a clear fairway), you can't stray too far from your target or you'll spend time looking for your disc in some surprisingly tall grass.

This is a fun course when the park isn't too busy, worth a visit with some friends. I would caution amateurs to help each other keep track of their discs, as it would be easy to lose them. And I'd caution advanced/pro players to be careful with drives on some of the blind dog leg holes. It's easy to accidentally pick off an unseen jogger that isn't paying attention.

Course is mixed with different style holes. That's what I like to see in a course. The most frustrating thing was having to wait at almost every hole for walkers as the course runs next to a walking path, some spots it's blind to appoarching walkers. Don't be in a hurry on this course, waiting is certain.

Course is in a active city park - during summer and fall, it is challenging to play without major interference with walkers and soccer teams. Early morning is best. During winter months, walkers are fewer and trees less threatening; Revisions made late summer of tree trimming has made course a bit less challenging, but it is still not a "walk in the park" - with some tight OBs, narrow tunnels through trees; from longer tees, the course is more challenging as additional trees come into play;
