Description

Hellbender Hollow Disc Golf Course is the disc golf course in Wright County, Missouri, and part of the GOTURSIX.org nonprofit’s larger “Hellbender Third Space” initiative to support Veterans and families impacted by PTSD. Phase 1 launches Fall 2025 as a 9-hole, short-format, pitch-and-putt course designed to foster connection, movement, and purpose. The course features gentle elevation, wooded lanes, and glow-friendly layout lighting for nighttime play. Phase 2 (slated for 2026) will expand the course to a full 18 holes—incorporating more challenging shots, elevation changes, and community-planted permaculture features for environmental sustainability. Hellbender Hollow is community-built and trauma-informed, offering a healing environment where Veterans, families, and neighbors play, volunteer, and grow together. David McCormack of Gateway Disc Sports is the course designer. The course features Gateway Disc Sports Titan Pro 24 Portable Baskets, natural tee pads, and designed with accessibility in mind.
