Course Reviews
A scenic 18 holes. I live within 30 miles and play at this course once a week. The front nine allows easy birdies; the back nine is what you have to worry about. The back nine yields a variety of mid to long distance from holes 10 to 14, and 15 thru 18 each give you the "opportunity" of jumping in the water after your disc. Overall its a well balanced course to test your BH and FH.
Played the course 11/1/10, to break up a drive from Cincinnati to Tampa. The course was in excellent condition, and play was quick since it was a weekday afternoon. Definitely liked the layout, it was easy to determine where to go. Many holes reachable with a putter, but I don't believe that the distances on the tee markers are accurate. Hole 15 across the water is a lot of fun. Definitely worth playing.
I do not live in the Macon area, but due to working there, I have had the opportunity to play this course a dozen times or more. Holes 1 thru 9 all have opportunities for an Ace. All of the holes require control of the disc. If its not the woods to stay out of, its the water! I really like the design of the course and use of the terrain, although I think that there is probably room for another nine holes that could be worked in. If you are within an hour or so, it is really worth the trip. The park it very scenic and well maintained. I read the only review for this course prior to mine and almost didnt play the course based on the negative review. Im glad that I decided to play it afterall. Overall, it is a very fun and challenging course, and the Disc Golfers there are good people as usual..
Pro: Only course in Macon area
Cons: Very RHBH biased
Poor use of availble terrain
Vechicles and fishmen in target line on last 4 holes
Tee pads too small and slick
Only one set of tee pads per hole
Several holes in row 190' course lack character
$3 per person to enter park (course free?)
It's hard to believe that Tom Monroe designed this course.

I remember this course as one I'd like to play again, though I probably never will, as working in the Macon area was the only reason I got to play it in the first place. Some of the holes toward the end next to and across the water put me in mind of a Russell Schwarz course. Does Tom Monroe work for one of the disc manufacturers, also?
