PDGA Board of Directors Adds Clarifying Language to Policy For Banning A Player From An Event

Friday, August 7, 2020 - 13:23

The PDGA Board of Directors recently updated the PDGA policy for Banning a Player From a PDGA Sanctioned Event. The following language, which is included in the PDGA Bylaws, was added:

As per section 2.4 of the PDGA Bylaws below, at no time for a PDGA-sanctioned event will the race, age, religion, sexual orientation, color, marital status, national origin, disability, gender, gender identity, or ancestry of a player be cause for either banning a player from the event, or preventing their participation in an offered division that they are otherwise eligible for under the PDGA competition structure.

Additionally, slight modifications to the exceptions listed in this policy now introduce a level of required standard for a private landowner to ban someone from a PDGA event.

The property owner of a privately-owned venue has banned the player from the property for prior misconduct, as described in the PDGA Competition Manual Section 3.03 Player Misconduct, perpetrated by the player.
