2016 Am Worlds Course Rules Changes

Bird’s Ruins

  • Holes 1 and 4
    • There are a total of three foot bridges on Holes 1 and 4 at Bird’s Ruins.  Those bridges are a declared secondary playing surface, so if you land on the bridge you are safe, but if you are in the creek under the bridge, you are OB.
  • Hole 4
    • The creek is OB, that note is online, but was dropped off the printed Caddybook.
  • Hole 18
    • In case you practiced earlier last week, please note the target for Hole 18 was moved to the correct tournament location at midday on Friday.  It is clearly visible from the Tee.

Capital Springs

  • Holes 12, 13, & 14
    • The OB rules say “Path Left”, it is really “Path Left and Beyond” is OB.
  • Hole 16
    • Please note the specific rule for playing the Island Green hole in your caddy book. The Island has also had an OB line painted.

Elver Park

  • No Competition Notes

Hiestand

  • Hole 3
    • The Bridge is NOT a playing surface. It is OB like the creek.

Vallart-Ast Course at Token Creek

  • Hole 4
    • The OB is noted as “Prairie Left, pavement right.” Please note that the Prairie actually extends along the left-hand side and around behind the basket.  The OB line is marked the whole way.
  • Hole 6
    • The OB is noted as “On road” as in this case the road crosses the fairway and plays as an OB “River”.  If your disc is surrounded by asphalt, you are OB.
  • Holes 11 & 18
    • Be sure to check the Tee sign to understand what is actually OB.  There is a strip of rough between the two holes which has a line on BOTH sides.  That strip of rough is SAFE for each hole.  So if you are playing Hole 11 and you cross the first line into the rough, you are still SAFE.  But if you cross entirely over the rough and thereby the second line and are in the fairway of Hole 18 you are OB.  You would then either mark your 1 meter back into the rough from the Hole 18 line or play from your previous lie. And vice-versa for Hole 18.
  • Hole 22
    • Please note the specific rule for playing the Island Green hole in your caddy book. The Island has also had an OB line painted.
