The job is certainly not finished in FPO — far from it as Anniken Steen and Ohn Scoggins both turned in another stellar round of disc golf to share the lead heading into Championship Round. Right on their heels in Kristin Tattar, just three strokes back after a scorching day of her own in Houston.
Norway’s Anniken Kristiansen Steen was the first player to hit that mark early Friday to kick off the opening round of the final stop of the Texas swing. Ohn Scoggins would best that score by one stroke not too much later for the solo lead heading into the weekend in Houston.
Anthony Barela was the only player in MPO to hit double digits.
Ohn Scoggins capped off one of the most dominant tournament showings in PDGA history to start things off and an emotional roar from Niklas Anttila ended another thrilling stop on the Disc Golf Pro Tour at the Open at Austin presented by Flight Factory.
The wind swirled throughout the newly designed and well-received track at Harvey Penick Golf Course, but the weekend forecast and darkening skies upped the pressure to start strong.

Technically, the Disc Golf Pro Tour – Prodigy presents WACO event was the second stop in the 2024 pro tour season. But, viewers in-person and on-the-flatscreens alike witnessed a number of firsts…
The first event for 2023 PDGA Major grand slam owner Kristin Tattar;
The first multi-course event of the season;
The first 4+ round event of the season with increased DGPT championship points available;
The first missed-cuts for big names in both divisions;
Kyle Klein led the MPO division at 19-under-par when Friday's second-round play was suspended with a single group left on the Lake Waco Golf Club course.
After a break-of-day thunderstorm cleansed the skies, the FPO field spread out across a new series of challenges as, for the first time, the Disc Golf Pro Tour – Prodigy Presents WACO tour stop incorporated a second course – the Lake Waco Golf Club.
The first four-round Elite+ event of the pro tour season began with wind howling and rain threatening at the Disc Golf Pro Tour – Prodigy presents WACO, as usual, on the Brazos East layout in Waco, Texas. And, while play will incorporate a new course for days two and four of the event, the “BEast” showcased its familiar quality of birdie-streaks interrupted by bogey-snares. Despite the conditions, multiple players started fast in the season’s first Thursday of action.
Anthony Barela held on to grab his first Elite Series win in his career, one that started in the junior ranks in 2010 and one that has featured so many close calls.
Ella Hansen and Holyn Handley, two close friends on the tour, are tied at the top in FPO and in prime position to take down what would be the first Elite Series win for either.
At the forefront of DGN's recent migration to Insys Video Technologies as the network's service provider and an enhanced partnership with Amazon Web Services is the chance for disc golf fans to choose from multiple subscription plans as well as continue their benefits as an active PDGA member. DGN will now offer three plans: DGN Basic, DGN Standard and DGN Pro.

This is it, the final round of the 2023 Elite season. After a season of chase card comebacks, logjam leaderboards, first-time PDGA Major winners and a grand slam season, the top tour points leaders fought through the semifinals to make it to the last round of the finals of the 2023 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship presented by Barbasol.
As we’ve seen all year, both the FPO and MPO competitions came down to the hole 18 to crown the 2023 DGPT Champions.
The DGPT Championship has been held at the end of the season each year since the DGPT’s inception in 2016, showcasing the players who performed the best in each given year.
The Disc Golf Pro Tour, the official pro tour of the PDGA, is excited to unveil a first look at its 2024 season schedule. The North American tour schedule, alongside the 2024 PDGA Pro Major schedule, represents a large majority of the events that will earn points toward the 2024 DGPT Championship. A separate schedule of DGPT points-earning events based in Europe will be announced at a later date.
