Catrina Allen threw DGA discs as a sponsored amateur player. Chris Dickerson nabbed his first ace with a Discraft disc. Ricky Wysocki won two PDGA World Championships with Trilogy plastic.

So, after all three made big moves sponsorship-wise this off season, it comes down to the question: Is it the archer or the arrow?

“I’m ready.”

It was a simple but strong response from Eveliina Salonen heading into her first PDGA Elite Series event in the United States in almost two years.

The last time that Salonen competed in the U.S., she left with a trophy at the 2020 Waco Annual Charity Open. That weekend in Texas, the COVID-19 pandemic began in full force and since then, Salonen, the fourth highest-rated FPO player in the world,, and the rest of the international contingent of professionals have been absent from U.S. competition.

That changes now.

The hype couldn't be any higher.

With a loaded field from players around the world, the 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour — the official pro tour of the PDGA — kicks off Thursday in the desert at the Las Vegas Challenge - Presented by Innova.

There are story lines throughout the the first PDGA Elite Series event of 2022, from an international contingent of 25 players (15 in MPO/10 in FPO) from outside the United States, by far the most since 2020, to top players debuting new sponsors after an explosive offseason.
