Request for Proposal (RFP) – PDGA Membership Discs, Minis, and Disc Golf Products

Last updated: Wednesday, October 6, 2021 - 15:23

Background

The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is a 501(c)4 nonprofit membership organization and the international governing body for the sport of disc golf. With over 55,000 active members in more than 60 countries, the PDGA is the largest disc golf organization in the world.

Description

The PDGA sends a disc and mini to every new member in the U.S.A and Canada. New members outside of the U.S.A and Canada and all renewing PDGA members have the option to add a PDGA member disc and mini to their membership package. To get competitive pricing and provide an equal opportunity for all vendors in the flying disc industry to introduce their products to PDGA members and disc golfers, the PDGA is seeking bids for membership discs and minis.

The PDGA supports many endeavors across the world to grow the sport of disc golf. Therefore, in addition to the membership discs and minis, the PDGA is also accepting quotes for all types of disc golf related products to support strategic initiatives such as the growth of underserved populations (women, children, and BIPOC), youth and education, leagues and the Affiliate Club Program. These products must include the PDGA logo. The PDGA may choose one or multiple companies for the production of membership discs, minis, and other disc golf products, and will be used at the discretion of the PDGA.

Requirements

The membership disc must be a high-quality PDGA approved golf disc. While it is preferred that the membership disc and mini match in appearance, the artwork must at least include the PDGA logo. Unique, full-color artwork for the membership disc and mini are encouraged. The manufacturer’s logo may appear on the membership disc. The membership disc must be a disc model that is considered “beginner-friendly” (high speed or big rim drivers will not be accepted). The diameter of the membership disc must be close to the allowed minimum of 21cm and have a flat top for shipping purposes.

This is a closed bid process. All quotes should be submitted via email to [email protected]. The bid must include a description of the product(s), quantity available, and the total costs for the membership discs and minis, and other disc golf products. Please include the estimated shipping cost to Sugar Hill, GA 30518 in the quote. The RFP deadline is 9/30/2020. Once the PDGA has awarded the bid(s), the items must arrive at the PDGA Fulfillment Office as soon as they are ready.

In addition to supporting the PDGA and its mission of promoting the sustainable growth of disc golf, the PDGA hopes that you will recognize the co-marketing and promotional value of having a product made by your company distributed around the world through these PDGA initiatives, and that you will quote accordingly.
