Considering the importance of local media to our sport, tournament directors are encouraged to invite the local media to attend and cover the event. A press release is a written communication directed at specific members of the news media for the purpose of announcing your event.

This document provides a template that can be used to create your Press Release. It is our hope that covering disc golf at a local level will increase general awareness and participation, as well as put disc golf in a better position to market to a larger, mainstream audience at the sport’s top level.
