Disc Golf Experience

I've been involved in the disc golf industry for the past five years and have proudly served as your PDGA Provincial Representative for the last two.

I'm passionate about supporting the disc golf community across Alberta - whether it's running or assisting at events like the Lost Egg, Falcon's Flight, Spring Run Off, Calgary Sanctioned League, the Tournament Capital Open, and many more.

I'm also an active board member of both the Aspen Meadows Disc Golf Club (AMDGC) and the Canadian Disc Golf Association (CDGA), where I continue to advocate for the growth and recognition of disc golf throughout Alberta and across Canada.

One of the highlights of my first term was helping bring a PDGA tour back to Alberta through the Cold Garden Cup Disc Golf Tour. I've also worked closely with new Tournament Directors to support smooth event operations across the province. If re-elected, I'm excited to build on this momentum and continue serving the disc golf community with dedication and passion. Can't wait to see you all out there over the rest of the season and years to come.

Arkansas – 2 Candidates

Eli Webb #83697

Professional Experience

After graduating from Arkansas State University in 2020 with a Bachelors in Technical Theatre, I joined a theatrical installation company and spent the next 5-6 years travelling across the country running different crews and building theaters in High Schools, Broadway Theaters, and smaller venues. During this time I began a small disc golf business and have a portable trailer that travels with me to events to provide in person payouts. After leaving that theater company, I joined forces with Double Trouble Entertainment and have been providing Audio/Video/Lighting/Rigging services for large music festivals (Ultra and Coachella) and large scale conventions in and across the country for the past 3 years. I also have my own company here in Arkansas performing safety inspections for theaters and providing repairs and training for their systems. I am one of the youngest certified riggers in the world and currently one of two in the state of Arkansas, and I am apart of the theatrical stage union IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) based out of Little Rock helping to put on Broadway shows, touring road shows/concerts, and local events across the state.

Disc Golf Experience

I have been playing disc golf since I first discovered it in 2010 when someone was throwing out some old used discs. 6 years later I joined the tournament scene, which then evolved into being apart of the first ever Collegiate Disc Golf Conference. I began helping with the Disc Golf Pro Tour as it came to Jonesboro and have been aiding that event ever since and maintaining both properties at Disc Side Of Heaven and one course for the city of Jonesboro. I began to see a need for more tournament directors in the state of Arkansas in 2019. I began to be more heavily inovolved with aiding Tournament Directors and then in February 2021 I ran my first official PDGA sanctioned event after previously running a few non sanctioned events and local bag tag matches. All while running events, I have managed to compete at every level of tournament except for a PDGA major. Last year in 2024 I was a course TD for the Masters World Championships in Emporia, and this July 2025 will be a course TD for JR worlds in Emporia. While not the best competitor, having played at all levels all over the country, and designing course, this opens my eyes being apart of the younger generation to view tournaments from all sides of the equation. After this year 2025, I will have run every level of event from an non-sanctioned, being a marshall and Assistant TD at the Jonesboro Open Pro Tour event, and all the way to being a course TD for a PDGA Major.

Additional Information

Hello, my name is Eli Webb, Im 28 years old and I love the game of disc golf. After spending my entire youth and twenties playing every sport I could get my hands on, I found disc golf in 2010. I became hooked, and so I’ve spent the last 15 years playing, competing, volunteering, teaching, running tournaments and growing the game here in Arkansas, as well as designing and establishing new courses.

I have decided to run for state coordinator simply because I love my disc golf community, not just here in Jonesboro, but also across the state. The countless friends and acquaintances that I see at all the events across the state remind me how small our community is, but how supportive it can be too. The opportunity to serve Arkansas and our sport through the PDGA in this capacity is something that I don't take lightly and have been wanting to pursue for the last few years. As our sport seems to be falling off in Arkansas and at times taking a step backward with low tournament attendance, I would like to help work with TD's and event staff to help re-ignite that fire that Arkansas once had.

We as a state continue to explode in popularity not just with new courses, but also new events. I eagerly await the opportunity to help everyone work together for the greater good and hopefully create an atmosphere that supports each other's tournaments and creates that desire to travel for events once again.  If I were to have the privilege to be the state coordinator, I can only promise to do my best for our Arkansas Community, be fair, be kind, and help our awesome sport grow into the future. Possibly even bringing some large events back and put the spotlight back on Arkansas Disc Golf worldwide.

I fully believe that the growth in our sport here locally in Arkansas is not quite over. Even though we have seen a decline in events and signups over the past year, I do believe there are ways that can re-ignite the passion for playing events again across the state. I am eager to start working with other Tournament Directors to help create a sense of balance and coordination so that we can work together towards a common goal of not just filling events again, but providing great events that make people want to travel across the state for. While I may be young, I am prepared to keep pushing and fighting to grow the sport here in Arkansas as well as guide Arkansas back into hosting large scale and world renowned events.

Tim Broadaway #118218

Professional Experience

I have been in IT my whole career.  I started when I was in college teaching intro to internet and pc classes for an adult education center.  Once I graduated with my associates degree, I went to work for a regional bank and was the network administrator for that bank for 10 years.  During my tenure there, I managed all things IT related for 20 bank branches. Including all network infrastructure, PC's, servers, printers, etc...  I then went to work for Hanna Oil and Gas and became their director of IT.  I have been with Hanna for 17 years now.  In this position, I manage all things IT related, but I also help work on our gas meters.  In particular, I manage the communication with those meters.  During my career, I have gone back to school twice.  First to get my bachelor in Information Technologies - Programming.  The second time was to get my Masters in Information Systems.

Disc Golf Experience

I started playing disc golf in the early to mid 2000's.  For the first 10 years or so, I only played casually.  I would play once or twice a month with a couple of other friends who also played casually.  It was around 2018 that I started to take it more seriously.  I played a couple of tournaments that year and then got my PDGA number in 2019 and disc golf started to consume all of my free time.

In 2020, I decided I wanted to give back to the sport I had grown to love.  So I joined the board of our local disc golf club (Western Arkansas Flying Disc Association).  I am very active as a board member.  My main job is to help with all things technical.  However, I also help run our weekly minis, do course maintenance, keep relations up with our local parks departments, as well as help run our local tournaments.

I have either been TD or assistant TD for many tournaments over the past few years and I have a great appreciation for what it takes to run successful tournaments.

Additional Information

I have a great love for both Arkansas and disc golf.  Whether it be in tournaments, minis, or just out on the course doing maintenance, I hope that shows through in my interactions with folks throughout the state.

Professional Experience

As a highly skilled disc and ball-golf course maintenance manager with over a decade of experience in athletics and open space, parks, and golf leadership, I have successfully brought many regional disc golf projects to completion, including designing and installing city and suburban area park disc golf courses at established open spaces in my area of Far Northern California. My work in managing many award winning and sought after ball- and disc-golf courses keenly honed my approach to staffing, budgetary leadership, and course maintenance. My career as an elite pro touring disc golfer strongly developed my coaching, mentoring, tournament directing, and relationship building skills. Additionally, my experience with organic turf management, water conservation techniques, and reducing the environmental impact of courses and park maintenance activities all highlights my strong understanding of the importance of balancing environmental concerns with the demands of maintaining high-quality disc golf courses and parks. Protocols I have implemented have saved 30% in water consumption & improved workflow by 25%.

Disc Golf Experience

To provide some disc golf background to show why I am a good fit, please see my highlights below. My NADGT achievements include: being crowned 'California Points Leader' as well as third at California California State Nationals held at Delaveaga DGC & Pinto Lake (after leading the championship for days, where I had a long skip-in field ace), #1 in SW region, #7 in Washington State, #9 In USA & I earned many invites to Nationals 3 years in row. I hold multiple course records (Tom Pearce, OR & Lake Selmac, OR) & many hot & 1000 rated rounds. Due to these accolades, I am known as 'The Best in the West' and the one to beat in disc golf. After two years traveling nationally on the NADGT tour, with great amateur achievements, I turned pro. Then on the Disc Golf Pro Tour (with a full time tour schedule) my global rankings include #138 on the Elite+ Tour, #58 DGPT Rookie, DGPT MPO Player of Year #159 and #411 on the UDisc World Rankings. My MPO tournament scorecards on pdga.com feature several aces. Due to my superb play, I qualified for several stops on the Euro Pro Tour too. In addition to my elite career achievements, I am a born leader, qualified coach, & certified official.

Additional Information

My interest in running for and securing a position as a PDGA State or Provincial Coordinator stems from my passion for growing the sport in a way that most highly serves the individuals, clubs/ leagues, communities, and tournaments of the North State of California, where both my wife and I were born and nurtured into becoming the outstanding players svd professionals that we are. We are grateful to call N. Cali home! Having toured full time as an elite touring disc golfer for years, I am confident I can support the PDGA and disc golf in our home region of N. California. Thank you!

  • 2020-Current: Post Event Operations NADGT
  • 2015-2019: Operations Manager Pacific Dental Services

Disc Golf Experience

I have been playing disc golf since 2010. Shortly after starting I decided to join the PDGA and compete in local tournaments. After getting involved I joined our local disc golf club (Mile High Disc Golf Club) and the board of directors. I helped grow the local club in the area and began to focus on organizing events. I began running events in 2015 and look to run anywhere from 10-20 per year in Colorado. In 2020 I also worked to help assist in the creation of the Colorado Disc Golf Hall of Fame to recognize those who have given their time and efforts to grow the disc golf game and disc sports in Colorado. Barry Arnson #28128

Professional Experience

I help to manage the parking and ground transportation services at the World's Busiest and Most Efficient Airport. Prior to joining the team at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport I have spent 17 years in managing about 25 million dollars worth of assets for a variety of clients and property management companies in the private sector.

Disc Golf Experience

I started playing disc golf in 2005 as a way to get back in shape. The plan originally was to get back to playing Ultimate but I quickly fell in love with the sport of disc golf from that point on. It wasn't soon after that I signed up for the PDGA and played in my very first sanctioned tournament at Redan Park in Lithonia, GA. Since that time I became active with the Atlanta Disc Golf Organization as their webmaster/CIO, then later as the Vice-President/CFO and lastly as President/CEO ending my term at the end of 2018. I have seen the growth of disc golf in the state go from only about 20 sanctioned tournaments a year to now two or three on a single weekend. I have successfully ran several tournaments myself for over 15 years now.

Additional Information

I was born in Stone Mountain, GA and grew up in Lawrenceville, GA for most of my youth. After graduating from Georgia Tech I stayed in Atlanta for a few years while I settled into a career. Got married in 2006 and moved to East Point and have been there ever since. I live with my wife, Rebekah, our two girls Audrey and Violet.

Carolina Halstead #113817

Professional Experience

I’ve been involved with business management for over 20 years with a concentration in retail and currently own a small business. In my spare time, I enjoy anything creative. This includes anything from IT to trophy making. I would consider myself a “Jack Of All Trades” because I usually engulf myself in the subject matter I find interesting to learn anything and everything about it.

Disc Golf Experience

I was introduced to disc golf about 5 years ago and fell in love with the sport. I jumped right into competition and became an active part of my local community. Seeing events/communities from different parts of the country inspired me to bring the best parts of them to our city. Now, in conjunction with my touring schedule, I because a Tournament Director and also help to run a local disc golf club. Our club runs multiple weekly leagues as well as series of sanctioned events throughout the year. Through our Tour Series Events, our club raises funds that go back into our community courses by ways of new tee pads, baskets, and anything that needs maintenance. We also work with local cities and their officials in hopes that by establishing positive relationships, we can grow our sport with them.

PDGA #9051

Started playing in the late 1980's at Deming Park in Terre Haute when I was a student at Indiana State University. I won the first tournament I played, on the third hole of a playoff. I've been playing in events around the state and multiple other states. UDisc shows that I've played 82 courses in 12 states. Over 500 rounds on UDisc. Competed in 78 PDGA sanctioned events, and have 15 career wins.

Currently I'm the Vice Chairman of the Columbus Indiana Disc Golf Club. We have opened up four public courses in the last 3 years. We maintain a non-profit volunteer organization to strengthen the sport of disc golf in the Columbus Indiana area. We aim to provide a safe environment for citizens to enjoy disc golf. The club will partake in organizing leagues, tournaments, fundraising, hosting clinics, course development, and growing the sport of disc golf. I run multiple tournaments a year, help with a couple of leagues each week, compete in about 2 events per month, and part of the Brown County Club team.

I want to be the Indiana State Coordinator to help strengthen and grow the sport of disc golf, with more courses, events, and communication.

Jason Samuel #16047

Professional Experience

Since 2003, I’ve been the general manager for 91.1 The Globe, an award-winning college radio station and an associate professor of communication at Goshen College. Previously, I worked in commercial radio as a sportscaster and sales representative, receiving awards for my play-by-play work and being named Indiana Sportscaster of the Year in 1998 and 2003. For 12 years, I was also the entertainment coordinator for Downtown Goshen Inc., scheduling live entertainment for our monthly events. In 2021, I was awarded Goshen’s Key to the City.

Disc Golf Experience

I joined the PDGA in 2000 and ran my first PDGA event in 2002. Over the next five years, I managed 25 sanctioned events. In 2003, I was elected Indiana State Coordinator and served until 2007. That same year, I designed the disc golf course at Little Bighorn in Piereceton. By the end of that year, I took a break from competitive play and organizational responsibilities to focus on career and family obligations. In 2020, I came back to disc golf and eventually ran my first sanctioned league in 2021.

Over the past four years, I’ve directed 37 PDGA events, numerous clinics and pop-up tournaments. In 2021, I hosted my first fundraising tournament, the Maple City Ice Bowl. To date, this one-day event has raised $133,768 to help feed, clothe and care for the people of Elkhart County. In 2023, I began an 18-month project to raise $30,000 for the revitalization of Ox Bow Flying Disc Sanctuary in Goshen. The project included a new putting green, tee pads, baskets and signage. In 2024, I consulted on the designs and installation of a new course at Island Park in Elkhart.

Additional Information

Since joining the PDGA, I’ve played or directed 173 events. I am a proud member of the Saint Joseph Valley Disc Golf Club in South Bend. Earlier this year, I started the Maple City Disc Golf Team out of Ox Bow. We will compete in the Hoosier Club Challenge Qualifier Bracket in June.

I am a proud member of the Saint Joseph Valley Disc Golf Club in South Bend. I’m also a member in good standing with Club Dead (Three Rivers, Michigan) and a founding member of ADGC (Goshen). Mike Penix #109401

Professional Experience

I am currently Sales/Operations manager for Jones Contracting, a mechanical company in Wabash County. I joined the team 10 years ago. The 11 years prior to joining Jones Contracting I was a plant production manager for a heavy gauge plastic thermoforming company. I have also served in the Marine Corp where I learned many skills like, how to lead large groups to achieve a common goal or outcome.

Disc Golf Experience

I really didn't start playing "competitive" golf until 2016. This is the year that I found out a local club had been started at our local course. Once I joined the club, I was hooked. I was part of the initial group that approached the local parks department and city to revamp and install a greatly improved course at the Wabash City Park. I have worked closely with our parks board and club members over the last 7 years to bring a top-level course to our community and surrounding areas with no cost to the city. I have helped with the fundraising to install this course and others. I have led the Cannonball DGC for the past 6 years. I joined the PDGA in 2018 because I had a desire to TD tournaments. I have TD'd over 45 sanctioned tournaments or leagues in the past 6 years. I have also helped countless other PDGA members start their own league or TDing their own tournaments over the same time frame. I have a passion for creating an experience and not just another tournament for players. I have traveled to some of the largest A tier tournaments to learn what makes a great successful tournament and course design, so we could continue to bring better experiences to our area.

Additional Information

I have a drive to help lead the Indiana disc golf community into the future like our past two state coordinators have done. I want to start a better training program for young TD's looking to learn how to run a quality tournament. I also want to form a committee of players to help with the growth of the female side of the sport. We saw good growth during covid where we had 20 and 21 ladies in field of 80ish spots playing during the summer of 2021.

Laura Morgan Wise #160910

Professional Experience

I have been an educator from elementary school to college for the past 12 years. I've absolutely fallen in love with this field and know that the skills that make me an excellent teacher also translate into being an excellent State Coordinator. I have experience with statistics, spreadsheets, website and graphic design-competing nationally in school for desktop publishing. I am passionate to the point of being called Ms. Frizzle (I mean I am a red haired science teacher) on multiple occassions. I love to better my community and have run multiple clubs and church groups.

Disc Golf Experience

I started playing in 2020, competing in my first disc golf tournament before I had even played a course 3 times through-and this fearlessness is something I've carried into all aspects of my disc golf career. I founded Peryton Lady Disc Golfers in 2022 becoming a TD that same year (after just a year of playing) selling out in my first tournaments. Peryton's mission has been to provide opportunities for women to play disc golf (from casual leagues to making space in local tournaments to running co-ed events). We've also fundraised thousands of dollars with our XC tiers for charities benefiting Domestic Violence, Raptor Rehab, Cancer Research, and HIV/AIDS Research. I became part of the leadership team that same year with SoIn Disc Golf Club and have been running dozens of events including multiple A tiers (Seviren Lang Memorial). I am also the co-captain for Elevation Disc Golf (yes the makers of the koi) and am a member of Team Bang a Chain Ladies. I've been fortunate enough to be able to play disc golf and to see the community grow and improve so much these past five years.

Additional Information

As the state coordinator my intention would be to streamline the dialogue between border states-as a club on the border between two states it has become increasingly frustrating to see everyone do their own thing and I hope to build relationships with the other states to coordinate processess and timelines for submitting events. Jason Labella has done an amazing job with his website and I hope to continue to stay as organized as he has. I also hope as a state coordinator I could open up conversations with local clubs on how to best serve our underrepresented communities and bounce ideas of ways to encourage more participation from jrs./women. Thank you for your time.

Eric Giesbrecht #80850

Professional Experience

Following high school I moved into a Manager Position at a local family entertainment centre. I ran that business for two years, before a quick stop at a local grocery store as a supervisor. I finally moved into sales in 2019, and have been in a sales position ever since. From 2019-2020 I handled highway signage, as well as a variety of smaller print publications. In 2021 I moved full-time into the Promotional Products & Apparel industry, with our Prairie Sky Promotions division. I have worked with a variety of businesses, including smaller local companies, nation-wide corporations, sports teams, religious organizations, and charity events. I currently build and help manage the "e-store" options our company provides as well.

Disc Golf Experience

I discovered disc golf in 2013, after my mom informed our family that we should try this new thing called "frisbee golf". I got hooked after throwing a disc golf disc for the first time later that year, and began playing tournaments in 2015. In 2017 many of our local members who helped run our local leagues and tournaments began focusing on other things in life. Thus, at 20 years old I began running our league and our annual tournament, and have been doing so ever since. My first win was the 2018 match play championships (Manitoba bracket). A few years later I got my first MPO wins, winning my local tournament which I run, along with another Manitoba tournament. I became the Manitoba Provincial coordinator in 2023 and I look forward to continuing to grow the sport in our province.

I was going to create a write-in campaign for MK, but.....I decided he didn't deserve it, so I am running again to try to keep the status quo going on the MO side of the sport.  I appreciate your vote.

Nebraska

James Fleege #15789

Professional Experience

As a creative producer, I specialize in crafting and executing the unique vision of each project while guiding it through all facets of production. My primary focus throughout my career has been audio engineering and music production. Music projects I’ve produced have been featured in ad campaigns for global brands, licensed for several Netflix and Amazon shows, and have accumulated over 40 million streams on Spotify. In video production, I’ve created content for higher education, concert series, and client social media. My graphic design work has included projects for clients in higher education, nonprofits, the music industry, and disc golf.

Disc Golf Experience

I’ve been involved in disc golf for over 30 years and am a lifetime PDGA member through the Eagle Club. Throughout that time, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from many of the instrumental figures who laid the foundation for Nebraska's disc golf community, and to connect with new generations of players as the sport continues to evolve. Over the past five years, my efforts have centered on growing the disc golf community in Lincoln through my role with the Lincoln Flying Disc Club, where I’m currently serving my fourth year as vice president.

In 2021, I designed Beal Slough Disc Golf Course as part of a collaboration with LFDC and Lincoln Parks and Recreation. The goal was to elevate Lincoln’s profile as a disc golf destination in the Midwest. Since its opening, Beal Slough has twice been ranked among UDisc’s Top 100 courses globally, this year at #70. It has also helped the Star City Classic—LFDC’s flagship event, where I serve as Assistant Tournament Director—grow from a B-tier to an A-tier, and now into the DGPT Q-Series.

Beyond competitive play, I designed Bethany Beginners Disc Golf Course to support new players with accessible hole layouts that encourage fundamental skill development, while also respecting the safety demands of a shared-use city park. I’ve also developed tee signage and brand identities for four of Lincoln’s five courses, believing that thoughtful presentation enhances both professionalism and the player experience.

As State Coordinator, I’m excited to collaborate with communities, clubs, and stakeholders across Nebraska to continue growing disc golf in a way that’s inclusive and responsive to local needs.

New Hampshire

Charlie Veysey #75861

Professional Experience

For the last 12 years, I've worked in the Architectural Industry working my way up from a intern to now working in every phase of design process. This has rewarded me with skills of forward thinking, seeing issues before they arise. It has taught me many interpersonal skills that will and have been beneficial in a state coordinators role. As mentioned previously, I have knowledge of the inner workings of non-profits and specifically within the sport of disc golf.

Disc Golf Experience

Hello fellow PDGA members! I'm running for re-election for the position of New Hampshire State Coordinator. I've been a PDGA member since 2015 and have been playing the sport since 2006. I feel I'm qualified and eager to bring to the forefront some of the issues that have been discouraging growth here in NH and the surrounding regions. Currently, I'm the President of a non-profit, The Granite State Disc Golf Association, and promoting the only tour series here in the state, The Granite State Tour. I've been a Board Member of The Live Free and Drive Tour from 2017-2020. The growth of disc golf is very exciting and I think I've done a good job in scheduling around other event, have a very solid reputation amongst players here in the state and perhaps most importantly willing to invest my time for the betterment of this sport we all love.

I've been a PDGA member since 2015 started playing in 2006. I've played in everything from unsanctioned events, local C-tiers, all the way to PDGA World Championships. I've been lucky enough to be featured on a lead card on a Youtube recorded round and even won! I've been lucky to have found this great sport and with its continued growth, I'd like to be even more involved in the inner workings of this great sport. I'd be honored to have your vote and take the task with great pride. My goal is to bring disc golf back to the players and provide an avenue for bigger events and less scheduling conflicts. Thank you all for the opportunity and I hope to see you on the course soon!

I have worn many hats in my day. I feel that they have all done their part in building my character as well as rounding my skillset with work and also people.  I have been a postal carrier, a police officer, an over the road class A CDL truck driver, but I have also delivered pizzas, waited tables, and installed radon systems.  I found a love in trades and so I currently make a living as a Senior Maintainance Technician at The Ohio State University.  Being organized and having attention to detail are essential in my daily activities and I would love to utilize those tools to help Ohio events keep running as smooth as they ever have.

Disc Golf Experience

PDGA #23242

I started playing casually with high school buddies in 2000.  I joined the PDGA in 2003 at the Brent Hambrick Memorial Open which was a National Tour event at the time.  I ended up winning the MA2 division that weekend and was hooked on the competitive side of the sport.  There weren't as many courses or events when I first joined so I tried to play events when I could.  I currently have participated in 69 PDGA sanctioned events and am a certified official.  As I've reached the masters division in age, I have found a love for being a tournament director.  I started running events around 2019. I've ran many events from non sanctioned charity events to A tier Professional only events. I've learned something at every one of them.

I started being an active member in the local disc golf club here in Columbus when I moved to the city in 2011.  In 2020, I decided that I wanted to try a more administrative role in the club so I ran for an at large Board of Directors position and luckily got a spot. They were 2 year terms so I stayed in that role for 2 terms before I finally ran for Vice President in 2024.  I won that position and after the President seat had become vacant in Spring of 2024, I was voted in by the Board as current President of the Columbus Flyers Disc Golf Club.  This has given me a platform to help so many summer camps, local schools, state parks depts, and charity groups with not only free clinics for also food drives and large monetary donations from our 501c3.  Best times of my life and I owe disc golf and my family for that.

Additional Information

I'm an extremely happy husband and stepdad of 2 amazing young ladies. Awe have more cats than I want to mention but we love them all.  I'm a libra, that loves Grateful Dead music, family, accomplishing hard goals, learning new things and meeting new people.  Traveling, disc golf, and pickleball are a few of my hobbies when I'm not chillin with the family.

Ontario (Canada) — 2 Candidates

Chris Ozolins #55049

Professional Experience

I became Director of the Ontario Disc Sports Association in 2016, our formal provincial sports organization (PSO), and have been working ever since in an effort to push our mission and values; inclusivity, advocacy, programming and a development continuum for our sport in Ontario. I have a background in the sciences and teaching, but have chosen to focus my career on disc golf and public advocacy. I have extensive experience with the municipal RFP process, grant writing, and accessibility development working in my capacity with the ODSA as a professional Marketing Director working with a number of not-for-profits. I have fund raised north of $200,000 for disc golf projects and programming in Ontario over the last 10 years and have gained valuable experience in fundraising strategies, grant acquisition & reporting. I joined the Canadian Disc Golf Association executive board in 2020 in an effort to share my experience and knowledge and assist with the development of our national sports organization (NSO), achieve IOC recognition and Sport Canada funding, and develop a network between all Canadian provincial and territorial disc golf organizations.

Disc Golf Experience

I began my disc golf journey is 2010 and have since competed in 185 PDGA events and have run over 90. I have organized and published the Ontario disc golf schedule (sanctioned and not) since 2017 as acting PDGA provincial coordinator; ensuring sanctioning standards are upheld and providing Ontario's disc golfers with a comprehensive, organized schedule from which to plan their springs, summer & fall. Notable events that I have organized and/or co-hosted include: The 2023 Canadian National Championships, The Ontario Provincial Championships (recurring), The Ontario Women's Championship, and The Northern Ontario Championship (recurring). I have an extended history with disc golf course advocacy and installation within the province as well; I have proposed, designed, or been a contributing partner in notable projects such as King's Forest (Hamilton), Lafortune park (Caledonia), Fireman's Park (Niagara Falls), The Highlands (Collingwood), Dragon Hills (Thunder Bay) as well as a collection of others. Finally, I have also invested myself in the growth of grass roots competitive disc golf through the creation of our "Little Hyzers" junior disc golf subsidy in Ontario. The subsidy has now grown into a full-fledged junior disc golf tour across the Province, providing completely FREE PDGA C-tier events to all our junior competitors.

Additional Information

My focus as Ontario's PDGA Coordinator in 2026 and onward is to help facilitate the launch of the new PDGA TD training platform for interested individuals in Ontario, assist in facilitating/coordinating our annual schedule with our TDs. publish a cohesive digital event calendar for the Province at the beginning of the year, interface-with and provide our TDs support as well as resources (such as fundraising templates, technical training, subsidies and grant opportunities) and continue to develop our Ontario Tour series; qualifying Ontarians for our Provincial Championship and ensuring there is continued development of the depth of our competitive continuum within the Province, connecting events, TDs and players to one-another across our beautiful Province.

Shawn Conroy #77900

Professional Experience

I have worked in the medical field for almost 30 years which has sharpened my ability to quickly sort the priority of tasks and work on numerous projects in an individual capacity while also realizing the necessity of coming together as a team to accomplish larger goals.

Disc Golf Experience

I began playing disc golf casually in 2016 and was very quickly hooked on the game. I realized early on that my ceiling as a player wasn't very high but also that the local tournament scene was in need of a boost. With my local area set to host the 2019 Am Worlds event, I started a business and began to host my own low cost tournaments in 2018 in an effort to help players qualify without breaking the bank. I also serve on the Board of Directors for our disc golf club and was instrumental in helping us gain 501c3 status. Two years ago, I was elected as the PDGA State Coordinator for Pennsylvania and have brought transparency to the role by starting a Facebook group for PA TDs and posting an updated State schedule therein to allow TDs to work around each other's schedules.

Professional Experience

I have a diverse background in creative media, project/property management, community development, and emergency services. For over 15 years, I worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, developing strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills. My experience also spans event planning, video production, digital marketing, and grassroots organizing. In 2024, I launched the Southern New England Disc Golf Organization (SNEDGO), a regional initiative to grow disc golf across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. I’ve overseen fundraising efforts, sponsorship acquisition, community outreach, and tournament operations, all with a focus on building sustainable infrastructure and inclusive programming.

Disc Golf Experience

I’ve been passionate about disc golf since 2014, when I was introduced to the sport by a friend working at Winthrop University. I played my first round on the Winthrop course in Rock Hill, SC and was immediately hooked. After returning to Rhode Island, I joined the PDGA in 2015 and played my first sanctioned event at Maple Hill. After some time away from PDGA events due to life and injuries, I returned during the COVID-era disc golf boom and found my love for the game stronger than ever. In 2024, I began directing events and launched the Southern New England Disc Golf Organization (SNEDGO), a regional initiative to grow the sport across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. As a lifelong Rhode Islander, I’m proud to represent and help shape the future of disc golf in our state.

Saskatchewan (Canada)

Gregory Hesterman #104696

Professional Experience

I spent 23 years in the mining industry, the bulk of which was being involved in the environmental compliance aspect.  My work involved environmental sample collection and data analysis to ensure compliance with the many regulations of both provincial and federal that applied to our operation.  The position required coordination with all the various departments on site and in head office, as well as  frequent discussions with the many different regulatory agencies that oversaw our operation.  It also involved initiating and communicating many environmental programs and information sessions to our site personnel and visitors.

I retired in 2020 and started my own environmental science consulting business.

Disc Golf Experience

I got my start in disc golf 10 years ago when the company I worked for asked me to design a disc golf course for our minesite.  I had never heard of the sport, so I had to do a bit of research to come up with a course design that made sense.  After the course was installed, I figured I may as well try it out and I fell in love with the game immediately.

I played recreationally for many years before deciding to dip my toes into the tournament scene. I have since competed in many tournaments across Saskatchewan and Alberta and have met so many amazing people.  Our disc golf community is growing and I think it is a testament to the many great folks we have in our community who represent this sport so well.

I have recently begun TDing tournaments and am discovering how satisfying it is to be able to run a successful event.  It takes a lot of work and commitment, but is well worth the effort seeing everyone have a good time playing this great sport while meeting new people.

Additional Information

My goal is to grow the game.  I am fortunate to be semi-retired and have available time to help out wherever needed.  It is an exciting time for Saskatchewan disc golf right now as the sport is growing and we're seeing more courses get installed every year. I would love to be able to serve our community in the capacity of PDGA Provincial Coordinator.  If elected, this is a challenge that I would certainly look forward to and embrace.

Disc golf has given me so much, and I have made so many new friends that I want to do what I can to give back to this great community.

South Dakota

Theo Seeley #100559

Professional Experience

In my career I have worked for 3 different companies. At the first one I was a direct point of contact (PoC) with any person who wanted to change, add, or remove a service. I was the first and last person they would talk to with questions or other issues and changes they wished to make.

My second job I worked for a clean energy construction company where I would oversee work being done and make sure our contractors were following all plans. I was also the PoC for any residents in the area that needed information about the work.

For my third, and current, job I am a design consultant for substations. I am the main PoC for the construction crews and the client who is receiving the design work. I work as a designer incorporating and interpreting clients’ wishes onto drawings and prints. Then adding the connections to the field when questions or other issues arise. I am also in charge of schedule management and communication with project teams.

Disc Golf Experience

I have been playing disc golf since I graduated high school back in 2016. In 2017, I got more involved with the sport and became a PDGA member. I had tried for number #100000 (unsuccessfully), so I had been strategically put off ordering my membership.

I ran my first non-sanctioned event in 2019. In 2020, I was the assistant TD for a handful of other events, including our league. Then in 2021 I ran my first PDGA sanctioned tournament and have just continued from there. This year alone (2023), I have 22 events (both sanctioned and non-sanctioned) I am running or assistant directing in our local area. I started and am the primary director of the Black Hills Vinyl Tour (BHVT), which was the first tour/series in our local area. We’re very excited for the 2nd annual BHVT, which is already well underway this year!

I joined our local Black Hills Disc Golf Club (BHDGC) board in 2021, and then in 2023 I was voted in as president. Already during my tenure, I have led major changes to disc golf in the greater Black Hills area.

Just like everywhere else during COVID, the casual/recreational player scene boomed (2020-2021). But here in the Black Hills our club (BHDGC) was a little antiquated and was not seeing the boom the same way other disc golf clubs were. In the past year I have helped foster growth in our club by finding ways to bring in these newer COVID-era players. I worked with TDs to change old habits and worked to show new players that the club (BHDGC) and sanctioned side of the sport is welcoming and inclusive to everyone of all skill levels! Everyone has a place to play here and have fun. Historically our club participation was mainly loaded with experienced players (top amateur divisions, MPO, etc.). In 2023, we have excitedly seen a large influx of lower amateur division players (FA4, MA4, FA3, MA3, etc.) joining our club and tournaments, which was unheard of in the past.

There is so much more that could be mentioned above, as we’ve had so many recent positive developments for our club, community, and the sport as a whole. I could not have accomplished what we have (now and in the future) alone and have awesome teams I work with that are pushing to positively grow the sport in our area.

Professional Experience

I have been the Washington State PDGA Coordinator for the past 10 years. Every year I direct multiple B-tier sanctioned events, host a PDGA sanctioned league and I also direct the biggest disc golf series in Washington state, the Great Northwest Point Series. I have played hundreds of courses and have designed a built many courses of the decades. In August I will be intiating the buidling phase of the disc golf course at Couio Park, the next Gold Level course in Washington. I am committed to helping and educating new Tournamnet Directors and to promote the game of disc golf.

Disc Golf Experience

I have been playing disc golf for the past 31 years and have been playing playing professionally for 25 years. I am President of my local club, South Puget Sound Disc Golf Association. The PDGA is a 501c.3 non-profit. The SPSDGA owns and operates a mobile disc golf course that is transported in a trailer. The mobile disc golf course has been the catalyst for at least 5 new courses in the Puget Sound area. I am currently designing and building two new courses; Greg Couio Park and Evergreen Sportsmen's Club. Our club is working towards hosting large regional and national disc golf events. Exciting future for Disc Golf in the Olympia area!

Professional Experience

My entire working history revolves around lawns, landscapes, and golf courses. I worked for a landscape company in high school as a laborer. I left for college at The University of Minnesota with the intention of becoming a Landscape Architect initially but transitioned over to Horticulture when I realized I was not artistic, and I preferred using my hands and working with soils, grass, and plants in a physical manner to create and maintain properties. I graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Horticulture with an emphasis on Landscape Design and Management and Turf Management. My career goal was to become a Golf Course Superintendent. I had already worked on a golf course for 4 years prior to graduation and eventually worked my way up to Golf Course Superintendent in 2003. I spent almost 4 years in that position before I decided to join my wife in business and became co-owner of a landscape management company where I stayed for the next 5 years full-time and a few years on a part-time basis as I slowly transitioned from the landscape company to my disc golf business which I had started in 2012.

Disc Golf Experience

I joined the PDGA within 7 days of my first round of disc golf which was January 1st 2009. It started as a way to break up a long road-trip to Florida and it became an obsession almost immediately. After my first round I knew I had a new sport/hobby that I would enjoy for a long time to come. I am in my 14th year playing and I have played 1479 unique courses something only a dozen or so people have done. I eventually left my day to day role in my landscape company to be a full time disc golf promoter when I started my company called The Disc Golf Experience in 2012. I have a retail disc golf store, I run or at least oversee 10 different leagues each year with the help of some of my sponsored players and I have at least 1 weekly league running every week of the year while Course Design is my real passion in the sport. I have designed 2 nine hole courses, a third has 9 holes completed but will be eventually be an 18 hole course. I was also hired to re-design 2 courses recently, one was designed in the 1970's for frisbees and was unsafe and outdated for today's disc technology and the amount of play our courses see. I have also had some success promoting disc golf to the golf industry hosting events on 3 different golf courses. One is going into its 11th year and grown from 24 people in year 1 to 240 people last year. I also convinced the golf course owners to leave the course setup for the entire fall, as opposed to just 1 weekend per year. I am extremely excited to bring my own individual education and experiences to the HouckDesign team so we can help promote safer, smarter, more sustainable disc golf courses to the world. I have been on the Board of Director's at the Disc Golf Foundation for the past 2 years where I serve as the Course Development Committee Chairman, to which I was a committee member for 2 additional years before joining the Board. My main responsibility is to evaluate grant applications for assistance in getting baskets at a cheaper price thanks to our partnerships with some basket manufacturers. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in helping these people better understand course design, and what makes for a safer more sustainable course. Lastly I was recently added to the Wisconsin Disc Golf Tour Board of Directors which works well with me being the State Coordinator. Thank you for reading my history and please consider re-electing me to a 3rd Two Year term as PDGA State Coordinator for the State of Wisconsin.

Additional Information

When I decided to run for the WI PDGA State Coordinator 6 years ago as a write-in candidate I was just excited to be more involved in the sport at another level. My first term went smoothly and wasn't as complicated as I had expected. My second term required a lot of conversations with new tournament directors who stepped up during the Covid Pandemic. I enjoyed explaining how the system works and hopefully making their adjustment to Tournament Directing an easy transition all while balancing the difficulties that came from explosive growth of the quiet, word of mouth type spread of our sport. Going into my third term, I look forward to helping the sport and Wisconsin Tournament Directors navigating the transition back to the new normal for disc golf. Tournaments are still filling extremely quickly and our number of players continues to grow, so I will be prepared for what comes next. Disc Golf is Alive and Well in Wisconsin! Please consider voting for me again in 2025 for a third 2 year term as PDGA State Coordinator of Wisconsin.
