The big tree right next to hole 13 at hakiey has fallen down right in front of the basket and only about a 3rd of the tree is left standing.

Hey everybody Hunter park has been mowed and i will be playing it tomorrow around 5:00 anyone interested in maybe cash round 5 or 10 dollars

I played it today and only about half of it was mowed. Hole 8's grass was up passed my shins. Maybe they will finish up tomorrow, it needs it.

For all those local golfers that think you have game, think you have distance and think you can hang with anyone.
I dare you to play the St Louis Open next year.
Let me tell you boys, those courses will put a hurt on you. You just think you're tuff around here and so did I. I can play three rounds in a day at Black hawk and be a little tired. Well 9 holes into my second round at Soux Pass, I had nothing left to give and firmly placed myself on the last card of our division.
I climbed so many hills on Saturday I had to pull myself up from my air matress by grabbing a chair on Sunday morning and then ate a handfull of Advil. :D
And don't go up early and play Endicatt and Soux Pass the day before the event. You need to rest a day after those two courses. :o

Endicott(6045ft par 57) is a great course, tight with a lot of elevation.

Soux Pass (8419ft par 67), big elevation, long holes, you guys that think you're a big arm will fall in love with this course. I think hole 18 was by far one of the prettiest and toughest holes out there. (800ft)


Jefferson Barracks (6657ft par 57), probably my favorite, beautifull big trees, elevation and some really sweet holes.

Creve Coure (9567ft par 68), boring long, just take Dovillio and stretch it out, waaaay out.

Over all this one ranks a A+ for courses and the tournamnet staff did a great job and fed all the players Saturday after the rounds

For the Ams, players packs looked FAT, three discs (new ones) shirt, twisted koozie and more.

This tournament to me was like seeing Horseshoe Canyon for the first time. Once you play them, you will mark your calendar for this event next year. I know I have. ;)

Since Thong works later in the evenings, all you would have to do is step up and run it. But Weds seem to be tough with you guys playing poker 3 out of 4 weeks and night golf on the other wed.

The club makes it's base income off of minis and Dovillio has never been a mini that generated any funds. The Ams just don't come out there. It just makes good business sense to have minis regularly at Riverside and Chandler, they generate the most money for the club and the TDs that run them and expose more Ams and newbies to the game and our club.
The bigger courses need to be utilized on the weekends. More time for the rounds and since the minis almost always run late getting started, it works better at the short courses.

Of the long courses, Dovillio is about the only one that you can still be in past 9:00pm.

At mohawk, they start trying to run us out at 8:30. :(

I never seemed to have any problems at Hunter. Always finished before dark, no problem. It doesn't take 3 hours to play a round anywhere in town, except maybe Blackhawk.

You may lose some participation at the long courses, but I can think a bunch of guys that aren't showing up at Riverside. 15 players at Chandler on a Tuesday night is not any better turnout than you're going to get at ANY of the long courses.

Ben. I'm willing to run a weeknight mini at any course in town except Haikey and Hunter because I have a hard time getting to those courses in rush hour traffic. If the TD's that run the longer courses are busy then they need to speak up. Wayne sends an email to all the TD's asking them what dates they want.

You seem to be inferring that Treat and I are bogarting weeknights and pushing everyone to the pitch-n-putts. They ask me if I wanted to run some and I said if no one else is stepping up for them then I'll take 3 Tuesdays in June. It seems like last year we had Monday and Wednesday mini's fairly regularly but that's not happening. I'd would even be willing to do some Friday night glow mini's if it didn't conflict with Wayne's FNF's. I don't know if Friday night golf really brings in that much for the club. Wayne's deal is all aimed at the OO. But if it comes down to me doing mini's at Chandler vs Dovillo, I'd rather have Chandler simply because I could run two mini's out there and still get out by 11pm. You guys want to use a driver then show up and let's play some safari golf.....punk!!! ;)

put Chan Chan on Monday nights (every monday night of the year).....I agree that the River and Chan Chan attract some people, but it also detracts many others. Having both of them as the only organized action on the weekly schedule is ridiculous though (unless it's winter and time is dwindling)

But like FurDog said earlier, Wayne asks anyone if they want any certain dates. Treat and Schumacher stepped up.

Sat (mixed locations 2 minis)

Thats 7 events during each week. As it is now, we have maybe 4 events per week.

We need to rotate events around all of the courses, not just the basic 3 courses that we use now. Which consist of Chandler, Riverside and McClure.
I know mowing has been a real issue this spring at some of the courses and hopefully that will change in the near future. The contract mowers should have started this week. Cross your fingers.

Thanks to Chris Wagel and Jake Regier for mowing Blackhawk. While it is not quite where it was, it IS highly playable. We also discovered that the bridge from 17 to 18 has been washed away. It has been rumored that it was carried down stream to the north and is still there. We need 3-4 guys to go find it and bring it back.

We could also use some weed eaters out there around the trees and baskets where the mowers can't reach. So if you have one and some spare time, it would be greatly appreciated if you could put some time in out there. Just start on 1 and keep walking. ;)

There is only one hole at Red Hawk that needs a weed eater, hole 11 and only from the woods to the basket. The mowers haven't touched it and if I remember right, they didn't do it last year either. We did. :(
So we need to have it done again.

Well, I'm no TD, but I would love to run some minis at Hunter or Dovillio. I'm available on Thursday nights, so if scheduling comes up, write me in for those nights, if the course TDs don't mind, and let me know where to show up.

Not trying to step on Treat's Thursday night toes, but that's the only night I can help. Otherwise, I'll just show up to play.

FYI, I would be willing to run minis on Wednesdays, but I'm afraid that turnout would be skimpy because of poker like you said. We could schedule a couple of trial-weeks to give it a shot. well I have been real busy as of late business is good I will be having minis in july I will pick a night that will work for me and it will be done

Today was a good day for disc golf. Played Mr. Treats Dovillio Mini at noon and shot even which was 1 stroke out of the cash :mad: I think Billy Pennington won it. After the round scored nineteen bucks in ctp cash.

After dovillio 9 of us headed over to McClure and had a little stroke play match at five bucks a head. I threw OB on my first two holes and thought I would have no chance of winning. But when we hit hole fifteen people started playing like dookeee all around me. Finished with a par on hole 18 when everybody else bogeyed or worse.

Dale and myself tied for first.

I had a good disc golf weekend, myself. Started Saturday morning at Blackhawk. Hole 2, hit chains with my drive but spit, then took a practice shot with the new Max, and it skipped in. Good omen for the weekend.

Plank is actually playing disc golf now. He has been to McClure numerous times. Last I heard he shot a +18 at McClure with 2 lost discs :o

Poplin is the guy who bashes DG the most...atleast Plank is cool.

course....Dovillio.....had a nice day off and private course trashed by
the little bastards......I lost a pint and a half of blood in 12 holes,
seriously....and the ones I was swatting were squishing......I am a
bloody mess and most of it is not mine. You could not stop and catch
your breath between holes, they'd freakin swarm you....even my spare
towel is bloody from slapping myself (and them)....... but I am off to
wash my towel and me..... it's just gross to have all these bloody
spots all over me.

Sunday wasn't bad..and with the wind today those lil' ones don't have a chance. It's the hummingbird sized bombers that I'll have to look out for. I swear those things pick up my disc and drop them in the deep stuff :mad:.

The grass is decently mowed.
The misquitos don't seem to come out until later in the afternoon and aren't too bad.
AND the forrest is somewhat cooler with all the trees.
Good track to play this time of year.

Rain will be cleared out by noon, It really only rained for about 45 minutes. Dry all day yesterday, the course will be fine.

I don't know whats its like over by that shack you have down by the river but over here by the course it has poured for the last 3 hours. :o

Odds are BlackHawk is a mess. But hey, were disc golfers and we don't mind a little mud right?

CP and I played BlackHawk yesterday.....Very muddy out there....The water was real high in some spots....the bench on 13 was under water....13 is barely playable (will have to walk through water) 18, the bridge to get across has washed away. The little ditch you cross on 8 was full of water.

If that was the condition yesterday and with the additional rain we have had today it can only be worse than it was. :(
