I had the pleasure of playing Sapulpa yesterday afternoon with, Schwake, Wilkes and Coda. it was funny to see them all put at least one in the drink and none of them shot under on the course for 18. :D

Schwake did take a $1.50 from me though. :(

Wilkes and Schwake will be playing around Tulsa today and then going back to the city. If any one has their number and want to play, give them a call, or call me and I will give you their number.

Actually I shot 8. I went to Sequoyah State Park. You cant believe how many deer are there. After I got number 8, I noticed several game rangers and highway patrol officers headed my way. Since I never buy a tag and I hunt when I want to, I figured they were bent out of shape about it and the fact that I was hunting in a state park never sets well with them. Oh well.... Maybe I ought to get night vision goggles and hunt at night. Never a dull moment. peacefrog and donovan

Okay, I have an interesting story to announce to anyone interested reading this post... I personally have never had an ACE yet, :mad:but I can assure you that I have hit the basket, chains, pole, or any other part of the target an unimaginable number of times.... :confused: No exaggeration here, were talking at least thirty to forty times. I have lost track.With stating this information, I'm you sure can imagine the unlikely odds of one actually not just dropping in!! :mad:Anyways, within the past two days at Chandler park, I have been taking in this beautiful (although brisk) ;) weather. Yesterday, while teeing off on whole number four I lost my footing while teeing off and fell over... :oAs a result I expected the shot to be a complete disaster, but I hear my friends start to get excited, I looked up watched it smash against the chains and fall out. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif :(
Following day, (Dec. 15) I show up to Chandler prepared for a complete 'relaxed' round of golf. :cool:I proceed to stretch a bit before I throw hole one... Step up to the tee, throw a direct shot at the basket, and the disc, no bullsheit, fell in the basket then dropped out. :(
So later during the round, we approach hole number 16. I also throw a direct shot right at the hole, and watched in disbelief as it doinks of the ugly yellow casing on the top of the basket. /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

You're a bagger if you lack confidence...

A 960 rated player is not a pro. If someone's at that level and aspiring to get better, then I'd definitely recommend they play up for minis.

The only way I'd call a 960 rated player that plays advanced a sandbagger is if they intentionally threw poor tournament rounds to keep their player rating lower than it actually should be. If someone really had 980 skills, but bagged during tournament rounds in order to have a 960 rating and appear to be an advanced player in order to play down in minis and will plastic to sell for a profit I'd not only call them a sandbagger, but also a complete [I'm a potty-mouth!].

Right. Which is why I said baggers lack confidence. If you got the skills to be 990+, but you don't believe in yourself, you'll probably keep playing aroung 960 golf.

But if you nut up and see what you're capable of, you build confidence, and your play gets more consistent.

" My wife is fond of saying that my last words on this earth will be something akin to, "Hey y'all, hold my beer and watch his!" Well, I have outdone myself once again. No doubt you will see this true story chronicled in a Lifetime movie in the near future. Here goes....Last weekend I spied something at Larry's Pistol and Pawn that tickled my fancy. (Note: Keep in mind that my "fancy" is easily tickled) I bought something really cool for my wife. The occasion was our anniversary and I
was looking for a little something extra for my sweet girl. That I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized Tazer gun with a clip. For those of you who are not familiar with this product, it is a less-than-lethal stun gun with two metal prongs designed to incapacitate an assailant with a shock of high-voltage, low amperage electricity while you flee to safety. The effects are supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, but allowing you adequate time to retreat to safety. You simply jab the prongs into your 250 lb. tattooed assailant, push the button, and it will render him a slobbering, google-eyed, muscle twitching, whimpering, pencilneck geek. If you've never seen one of these things in action, then you're truly missing out--way too cool!! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two triple-a batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was so disappointed. Upon reading the directions (we don't need no stinkin' directions) I found much to my chagrin, that this particular model would not create an arc between the prongs. How disappointing! 1 do love fire for effect. I learned that if I pushed the button, however, and pressed it against a metal surface that I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs that I was so looking forward too. I did so. Awesome!!! Sparks, a blue arc of electricity, and a loud pop!! YIPPEE!! I'm so easily amused, just for your information, but I have yet to explain to my wife what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-a batteries, etc......There I sat in my recliner, my cat looking on intently (trusting little soul) reading the directions, (that would be me, not the cat) and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh and blood target. I must admit I thought about zapping kitty for a fraction of a second and thought better of it. She is such a sweet kitty, after all. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, l did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? Was I wrong to think that? Seemed reasonable to me at the time. So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, Tazer in another. The directions said that a one-second burst would cause shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a loss of bodily control; a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. All the while I'm looking at this little device (measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch circumference, pretty cute really, and only loaded with two itsy bitsy triple-a batteries) thinking to myself "no friggin way!" Friggin way--trust me, but I'm getting ahead of myself. What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best. Those of you who know me well have got a pretty good idea of what followed. I'm sitting there alone, the cat looking on with her head cocked to one side as if to say "don't do it buddy" reasoning that a one-second burst from such a tiny lil ole thing wouldn't hurt all that bad (sound, rational thinking under the circumstances, wouldn't you agree?) I decided to give myself a one-second burst just for the hell of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button and HOLY [*****]!!!! DAAAAUUUUUUUUMMMMN!! I'm pretty sure that Jessie Ventura ran in through my front door, picked me up out of that chair, then body slammed me on the carpet over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, nipples on fire, testicles no where to be found, soaking wet, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position. Kitty was standing over me making meowing sounds I had never heard before, licking my face, undoubtedly thinking to herself, "do it again, do it again!!" (Note: If you ever feel compelled to mug yourself with one of these things, a note of caution. There is no such thing as a one-second burst when you zap yourself. You're not going to let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor. They cost around $25.00, but I have saved a ton in lost disc.

It fits easily into your bag, and comes with two string lengths. One for the oh crap thats in the water shots, and a long one for those trans-atlantic tosses....

I think you can buy them at the Rec Center at McClure. The guy that makes them lives up the street from Big Dave.

Not everybody has access to a Ganzel retriever so I got to make do with the local breed.... :)
