... the "Flights Doubles" fundraiser at Dovillio tomorrow is called-off ... THIS Mar.21 "flights" wil be re-located as a "monday-nite-flights" somewhere in April or May ... after I study the calendar, I'll announce when ... I will still be (as advertised) in the parking-lot at Dovillio tomorrow 11:20am until 12:00noon ... just-in-case there are any players who still showed-up ... for public-service-message only ... without even setting-up or staging an 18-hole round of Doubles , I will alert them that Sunday's round is cancelled ... I'll give them new current Flyers ; thank them for trying ; and see them on a future Monday-Nite ...

When are you going to learn they don't park there. They have a lot across the street. The only rugby people that park there are dumbarse spectators and they only park on the north end of the new lot.

are you blind !!! I have seen about 15 or 20 of them park there and walk to the fields. They are no longer allowed access to park across the street where they used to. Maybe if you did a little research you would know these things. I heard them talking about this on the sports animal over a month ago. I then immediately emailed treat to let him know. Mini's @ Riverside would be best on Monday's or Wednesdays this year.

You can't trust anything Wayne says when he's been drinking.;)
You're going to have to sign a waiver and submitt a $1000 bond as proof that you will behave and not cause any type of controversy like last year. Otherwise you're going to get "the boot". And I know a couple of guys that would have no problem helping me.:D
And since you were going to spend twice as much money in Kansas before they "locked" you out, your entry fee just doubled.

I PROMISE TO CAUSE NO CONTREVERSEY, this means I will not call a foot fault on myslef like I did last year. :) I'll just let the group call it next time since my group would have let me slide on it if I weren't honest.

I was there just last week and personaly watched them parking across the street from the fileds. Try pulling your head out and look around once and a while, instead of kissing the butts of talk show wannabes and repeating what they say as the truth. Try something new for a change, think for a moment before you open your mouth. I have never heard more mis-information come from one person in my life. Besides that, you even mentioned you watched 15 or 20 of them park there? Your an idiot. I did see them parking there, as I was walking to my back nine they were still coming. My hole round on the back nine last year I would see players walking from the 41st parking lot. This was every tuesday evening that we played. The president of the Tulsa Rugby Club is the one who stated that cars would be subject to towe if they parked in the spot where they have in the past. Once someone gets towed what do you think is going to happen. They are going to fill up the other parking lot.

I'll give you a little background, In my High School, the first week of school every year was howdy week. All the seniors would go around and literaly throw all the snot nosed punk smart *** Freshman in the dumpster ! simple as that, I never got it when i was a freshman, one of the benefits on being in cross country running. But when I was a Senior, we threw at least 10 kids in the dumpster and no I never did it by myself, I had help !
We definetly would have got you Paul, Then after maybe locked you in the FFA barn and let you figure out how to get home. Thats just how things are a little different in Creek County.

While you've both have displayed on rare occasions a glimmer of hope, neither of you reflect or demonstrate the true compassion or imagination to talk the talk or walk the walk as Twoputt and I have demonstrated.
I can only assume the pressures of being "young punks" suppress's your ability to ever achieve top dog status.
Perhaps same-sex marriage would be the best recommendation for both of you.

I can sell other types of insurance. You on the other hand should be more worried than myself. Once your employer starts getting hit with the taxes associated with it, do you really think he will just eat it? Sorry but I deal with several employers, as it is my job and their response is we will cut employees to off set the costs of the increases. If they don't do that they will adjust employee pay. Its just simple accounting. If they have a certain amount coming in and now the government wants a bigger piece of the pie, what the hell do you think they will do? Your employer got in his line of work to make money and when it comes down to it, his family is WAY more important than your job.

You are correct sir, Governments consume not produce. even ones that print their own money do not produce anything except debt and obligations. Kings are cheaper than governments and we rebelled against taxes that were far cheaper than the ones we pay today that they are going to increase to pay for this grand new give away. some day they will run out of idiots like me that are willing to work two jobs just to have food and shelter.:(

I'm surprised you're willing to take the time away from throwing bricks through windows to come here and post.
Not all employers are as much of a dkhd as you are but some very well may be and you may be right in some cases.
IMO why should I have to support you and your horse just to purchase insurance? You don't even put in a full 40 hour week.
What other jobs have you had before you married into this one?
You want to blame somebody then blame the right for offering up this....

Hey FurDog, did they forget to tell you that the portion of health benefits that you don't contribute towards that you now receive from your employer are going to become taxable to you on your W-2?
Example: your costs that your company pays for yoy in health benefits is probably around $300 to $400, this is just for a single employee.
Isn't that great, you just got a $3,600 to $4,800 raise, at least you'll be taxed like you got the raise. Take a shot of that medicine buddy.:(
Even at a 15% tax bracket that just cost you $540 in taxes if your benefits are valued at $400 per month then you get to pay $720.
This is what change looks like.
As for the right offering up their last choices, I am in FULL agreement.

Well Dave my part of the premuim is only about $45 a week so this is how I plan on countering that.
First of all I'm going to buy a horse like you and get it a social security card so I can claim it as a tax deduction. I'll name it Mr Ed to throw off the IRS.
Then I'll quit smoking which will save about $300 a month.
Then I'll quit drinking which will save about $150-$200 a month. (Maybe start up a moonshine op somewhere)
Disc Golf?....No problem. As TD I'll play for free at all my mini's.
Food?.....No problem. Taco Bell is cheap and covers all the important major food groups.
Shelter?.....If the Coberly's and the Hindshaw's can live in the woods at Chandler then so can I.
All this great personal sacrifice on my part really adds up to a net profit for me while still being able to claim..."You ain't heavy, you're my brother.".
If I were you I would at least learn to fake that I have compassion for others or otherwise you might find yourself frying like bacon in hell.:D

I have been at my company over 2 years and I am still the New guy. In a company of only 11 people it is the people who make alot more than me that have to worry. I am the only person in my company trained to do my job, no one else even has a clue as to what I get done in a day. That is the reason I couldn't use my vacation to go to wrolds last year. Nobody could do my jub properly without weeks of training. I agree with you in the fact that If I worked for a bigger company my job may be at risk. We work for alot of Invidual companies and the DEQ. My job is very safe being in the field I am. Only place to go is UP ! First of all from what I've seen, you don't "stick up" for Wise, you "bend over" and pay $50 just for the opportunity to do so.
Second, I'm not banning everyone who is going to Emporia. If Dorkies wasn't already going I would probably have paid his way but fortunately all I have to do is just schedule my event on the same weekend to get rid of him.
Wise and poppa Treat are TD's and therefore I give them some respect but still consider them to be traitors. I banned them just in case something happens that makes either of them unable to go to Kansas. You know, like a naggin wife, a kid in jail, or a Tornado wipes Emporia off the map.

I didn't hype it on Tulsa's thread out of respect for Joe's event, I didn't like scheduling it on top of it, we originally had it planned for May 8th but Ark. States went big with added cash on May 15-16 and I'm helping run it and did not want to run 2 events in a row

Mack Taylor Park looks awesome...Huge thanks to the Tulsa County Parks Department for getting this park mowed. Teresa, Brad and I went out to mark the alt. course this evening...not sure I want to play this against Twoputt or the course TD David Frazier. I called these guys on the phone and kinda told them where I was standing....They are truly tee pad gps's, because these things where buried! It was like Twoputt was at the edge of the park watching me and saying keep walking!! Thanks Dave, no way I would have found those without your phone #.
That being said...since I am going to have a $10 bounty for a ctp on each hole(we're at 13 sponsored holes already) it would be to much to accommodate the alternate course. We marked it but the flow of play just isn't practical. We will figure something out though..this layout has to be played and we marked it!
Possible $130 and counting..... :) please help me get all these holes sponsored!:D

Your marker mini. Sometimes they will have a mini basket or course that you only throw your mini on. Don't be fooled, all minis are not alike. Some will fly like a regular disc. Ask around, someone can show you the difference.
Thats why I carry a metal mini.:D

Your welcome Dough. I was at poker and they asked what I was doing. I could picture every hole in my mind. Glad I could help you find them. Yes, without help, you'd stillbe out there looking for a few of them. it is a great layout and makes that into a real course. Find a way to use this Dough!
Play 27 - 18 reg then 9 alt.
You can skip biatches island.

You can skip biatches island.
why are you afraid of that hole????
and now i know why your pushing for the alternates.
talk about lefty friendly.
yesterday there were at least 20 casuals out there throwing lids and toys at the park.
many more than i ever thought used that park.
when doug threw one of his discs the casuals were in awe at his greatness.

Not afraid of it, it just doesn't work in the mix for alternate.

Ok, here is a revision to my earlier post today.
SATURDAY!!!...SATURDAY!!!...SATURDAY!!!
If you had planned on going to the Duff special at Mack Taylor than please go. I am not trying to take players away from his event even though the little weasel did get in early on scheduling and steal this weekend. j/k
As many may know I have been trying to schedule the first nine pads poured at Chandler for some weeks now but due to snow, rain, other local events, or the threat of bad weather, I’ve had to postpone it.
Now that we got a good weather weekend coming up we are going for it.
If you are going to be in town and were not planning on playing Mack it would be greatly appreciated if you could come out on Saturday morning and lend a hand getting this done. We will do nine pads all together.
The cement truck will be there at 6am. Yes I realize this is very early in the day but it’s all I could get scheduling this late.
Our current core crew to have committed to be there at 6am are:
Jerry Stacey, BVA, Gary Nail, Cris Hicks, Dave Wise, and myself. We really need about four or six more guys who can step up with the initial pour when the truck shows up. The pour should only take about 1-1/2 hours so if you want to play at Duff’s deal at Mack Taylor you will still be able to make it. We also need a few of those that aren’t doing “The Mack” to come out throughout the morning and afternoon to guard the pads and keep the vandals out.
Even if you do play “The Mack” we could still use you in the afternoon after the mini for a couple of hours.
Please don’t come out expecting to play the Moose because I will have barriers up and the baskets bagged and I will burn a hole in your head with my evil glare.
For those that can make it by 6am we could use 1 more wheelbarrow to truck the cement to a few pads so if you can bring one please let me know. All pads have been scrapped by the park guys so no digging will be required.
BVA and I will be out Friday afternoon to assemble and set the forms.
I know its late notice and people might have things to do but I’m asking now for a few good volunteers to come out and help push this fine course closer to completion.
If you think you can make it please post here or call me on my cell at 636-5704.
If you think you might come over after Duff's deal then call me and I will let you know if we've got enough pad sitters.

Thanks Coda Hatfield for sponsoring 2 more holes, another local pro that won't even be in town this weekend.....
Thats $180...and at most events that would equal an entire round...BUT NOT THIS WEEKEND. This weekend we're playing at MACK TAYLOR!!!! I want four more sponsors to step up and sponsor the DUFF GOLF shots....these are the game changers, 3 intense mini golf shots and the dreaded WITCHES ISLAND! I need something sweet for these holes. The mini holes because your gonna think that they are impossible, and Witches Island because you know it is!!!!

What a great time we had at Mack Taylor park today!!! All about this game of disc that we are so addicted to, and alot was going on...22 $10. sponsored holes "all cash", Mass Tulsa bag tag challenge "with the #1 tag involved", Mini disc golf holes, rolling tee times on the alternate course....and of course we played a mini at one of the most challenging courses in Tulsa.
I had a blast---I want to thank everyone that attended but first I need to thank the people that allowed me to DUFF up this event:
Dave Wise aka TWOPUTT..... Mike Conners "The Real MC"..... Brad H.O.I...... Paul Dorries..... Adam Hunt..... Coda Hatfield..... The LINE-Corey Leemhuis..... Scott Farley-Farley Chiropractic..... I need some help........................................Tomorr ow during the day.
I need 2-3 guys to help unload my son's girlfriend's stuff into her apartment on Riverside. She will be on the bottom floor and all we have to do is unload the truck and carry it it. It shouldn't take more than an hour. I am willing to pay for your help in plastic money or what ever. This would be great for some of you younger single guys. She has a room mate and other friends moving into the same complex. You might just meet the girl of your dreams.
Can any of you guys lend a hand? I will make it worth your while.
I will post the time here in a little while. I will even be willing to put up my gold #6 tag at riverside after we finish.

The latest disc golf course installation in the Tulsa area is now in the ground at the OU Schusterman Center (Southwest corner of 41st and Yale...West of Promenade Mall). This nine-hole DGC runs along the South side of the campus. If you would like to see a rough course map, post your email addy (or PM it to me) and I will email you the document.
I would have attached the rough course map to this post, but apparently this discussion board only allows microscopic files in size to be attached to posts.

Played Lake Ponca course today with Ron C. I honestly think that course is longer than dovillio, plus knee high grass till they mowe it again. I think this layout is one of the toughest I have played as far as being wide open but still having some trees. If you get the chance, go play it. I shot 6 big with 1 bird, 1 bird spit, and a looooong birdie spit. Ron shot -3. And thats why he's the course pro, lol.

I just figured I'd be like every other jake leg you have playing your minis, I'll just wait till I hit an ace, then become a member. Could save 3-4 years of dues. Since there is obviously no penalty for not being a member and now no advantage for being one, then what's the point?

TDSA membership packages have been available for a month. The hold-up was due to Innova. The packs consist of a TDSA disc, a tag, and a mini plus a list of other benifits provided by "The Wayne'ster" that were previously available.
Cost is $20, $15 for "Lifers".
Lifer tags are $80 but I haven't seen any so I'm going to get Evan to make me one.
You should get your name off that "Owasso Band Camp" deal and put Penny's name on as he IS a current member and worthy of TDSA website advertising.:p
Your deal isn't the only one though and that's why I'm here to bring it out in the open.:D
IMO "Freeloaders" like you should be paying interest or a late fee. And don't be showing up at any meetings asking for TDSA minis or handouts until you pony up and get current.:p
twoputtok
Jul 06 2010, 12:22 PM
I haven't asked the TDSA for anything other than a date that was open.
Freeloaders like me?????????? How about 90% of the people playing at your courses or any of your events? I'm no more a free loader than they are. On top of that I offer players a sanctioned event. Your Mountain party only contributes to the non-member problem.
Sorry but I'm a firm believer that non-members should have to pay a $1 extra for every TDSA event. There is your real advantage to being a member. I don't need the dx disc, the mini or the tag. But I can tell you, If I had to pay $1 more for each mini I played, then I would sign up in a heart beat. As would many others around town.
This would increase revenues more than any swag pack. 1st. you get all the extra dollars form those that only want to play. The extra $1 will not deter them. 2nd. you gain a member for every player that wants to avoid the extra buck and sees the advantage of paying the membership fee. You don't have to bribe them with "wait but theres more".
Do me a favor, look up players that play multiple events on the mountain, how many are club members? Treat should do the same thing. As for the lifetime memberships? They should be done away with, unless awarded by the club for lifetime comittment. You shouldn't be able to buy one. Those current lifetimers ccould be grandfathered in. All of you that bought one do more harm to the club monetarily, than the ones that buy yearly. Even the ones that buy every other year will contribute more over time.
sschumacher

Freeloaders like me?????????? How about 90% of the people playing at your courses or any of your events? I'm no more a free loader than they are. On top of that I offer players a sanctioned event. Your Mountain party only contributes to the non-member problem.
How much money from your "sanctioned event" gets kicked back into your course and since when have any of your "sanctioned" events ever kicked back more cash into your course than one at Chandler and all the "non-members" attending.
This might be a good idea but then again it might lead to a non-member rebellion and they will start scheduling and running their own separate minis outside the TDSA umbrella like you are currently doing. Maybe you should experiment with this idea at Centennial?
Do me a favor, look up players that play multiple events on the mountain, how many are club members? Treat should do the same thing. As for the lifetime memberships? They should be done away with, unless awarded by the club for lifetime comittment. You shouldn't be able to buy one. Those current lifetimers ccould be grandfathered in. All of you that bought one do more harm to the club monetarily, than the ones that buy yearly. Even the ones that buy every other year will contribute more over time.
To me this is not so much about "Lifers" or getting new membership because membership is not a big draw of cash into the club. Most of the current members now are actually "Lifers" anyway. My gripe here with you is if you're going to ask for open dates to schedule your event or someone elses then you should at least be a CURRENT member.
Fork over the $20 buddy and I promise I'll go away.:D

Since when have you or your course ever done anything out there without having to ask for monetary support from the club?
As for my event and Centennial....... I broke even for the event. But I have donated several hundred dollars to the course. The sod wasn't free, neither were the first tee pads markers. The extra dirt wasn't free. All of the concrete on the baskets wasn't free. All of these expenses and others came from my pocket. Could I have asked club for help? Maybe, but Ithought, how nice would it be to have a course that the club did not contribut one dime towards. Since they can't get the city of Tulsa to contribute one dime or get credit for the 100K we have put into the Tulsa courses. They won't even replace a stolen basket.
Can you say that? You can't even say the members from your event paid for anything. All of their money goes to the Parks Friends slush fund. The concrete was paid by the club. Just what has Park Friends given back to the course or the club?
And don't say its the county workers putting in the baskets either, they get a pay check for that. I can gaurantee Park Friends didn't pay for that.
Also, in trade, my course has provided new golfers for all of the other minis around town. They pay their fees, the club gets the money.
You can biatch all you want but the only thing not being a member prohibits me from doing is voting ot getting 2 free hot dogs a year. If you want to campaign for Centennial being removed from the schedule of events or advertisements, go for it. I'll just stop telling them about all the Tulsa events they should be playing and that ChandlerStock is nothing more than a cash cow for the TD and the Park Friends.
At any given mini, you can't tell me who is a current member and who isn't.
If all the current members are lifers, then what are they doing for the club?
You lose over $50 a year to me, just take the rest of your losses for this year and buy me a membership.

You're my biggest advocate with that statement.
How many dollars are being lost from Non-members at each and every TDSA event? Over the year, I'd bet it to be at least an 80% increase over current mini income. At least until they figure it out and become a member.
Plain and simple................what advantage does a member have over a non-member?
Plain and simple again......nothing.

I only bring this up because I see a way to increase income and membership at the same time. I'll even be the first to kick in my extra dollar at the next mini and every mini their after. This is the reason I never became a life time member. I felt that by paying yearly dues I give more to the club over time.
If I thought it would hurt the club I wouldn't even consider it. The only way we get new members now is from a few new players that have become very active in the sport. Other than that it takes an ace to get a new member and he/she will be a one timer, unless they hit another ace. To tell you the truth, I didn't know I wasn't current until you mentioned it the other day. That's the problem with a 2 year membership vs. an annual renewal. People forget. But since you did mention it, it got me to thinking again.....why? Sure it supports the club but how do we get more of these players at the minis to be really involved? The club provides them courses to play, (if not for the club and past members there may only still be 2 courses in town), they provide scheduled events almost 7 days a week, numerous sanctioned and non-sanctioned events, clinics, donate to local charities......and the list goes on.
With all the club actually does provide, it should continue to provide the benefits to members but a minimal fee of $1 to non-members, which is MORE than fair and will allow the club to do even more. Its a win win. Or you could create a member vs. non-member payout. Reduce the non-members payout by 20%. If they ask why they got less than the next guy, just tell them he is a club member. That its one of the perks of membership. Would you like a form?

The club has always voted where club funds go and considering the money Chandler brings in it is in the best interest of the club to support a second course there.
As for my event and Centennial....... I broke even for the event. But I have donated several hundred dollars to the course. The sod wasn't free, neither were the first tee pads markers. Maybe but at the time I believe you just wanted total control and a way of telling the TDSA to screw off. I also believe there was the promise of some trash cans and benches in there too.
Since they can't get the city of Tulsa to contribute one dime or get credit for the 100K we have put into the Tulsa courses. They won't even replace a stolen basket.
Well I don't believe the TDSA covered anything on the new Riverside layout
You can't even say the members from your event paid for anything. All of their money goes to the Parks Friends slush fund. The concrete was paid by the club. Just what has Park Friends given back to the course or the club?
To date:
1/3 the cost of the baskets, $900
Bricks for the raised baskets # 1 & # 4, $600 and free labor.
Gravel for the new parking lot $?
Free shelter rental for club events and much more to come.
Chandlerstock in general has been bringin in approx $550 in camping fees for the last four years. That's over $2000 from players and supporters of the event. Not a single dollar went to the TDSA yet the TDSA benefits in the end which was the main idea in the first place.
And don't say its the county workers putting in the baskets either, they get a pay check for that.
Yeah they do get a pay check but I believe they do it because they love us and DG and believe it or not most of them are not TDSA members either. I also bribe them with free CS merch as well. :D
Also, in trade, my course has provided new golfers for all of the other minis around town. They pay their fees, the club gets the money.

I don't have to have a reason to tell anyone to screw off, you should know that. But when you don't owe favors, it is easier.
The city will not allow any other kind of benches than the ones they have now, $500 each.:( I can't afford to buy very much at that costs. But I am donating all of the materials for a kiosk and have a person that is going to build it. That should happen this fall when it cools down. Chandler REALLY needs one. While the course may not currently have permanent trash cans, the city is great about getting them out there for events.
Well I don't believe the TDSA covered anything on the new Riverside layout
Niether did the city of Tulsa. That was an existing course that got a remake through River Parks, River Park Friends and Quick Trip. When has the City(other than Dave Z) gave us any recognition for our contributions to the City Parks system? I can only imagine the amount of money and man hours that we have GIVEN to the parks system.
To date:
1/3 the cost of the baskets, $900
Did they write a check? if so, to who?
Bricks for the raised baskets # 1 & # 4, $600 and free labor.
You got hosed on this deal. I just bought 2 pallets of those bricks and there was 144 on a pallet for way less than that. Free labor? I'd like to see their time sheets, you can bet the County paid for their time.
All 2.5 months it took to build them:p
Free shelter rental for club events and much more to come.
They should for all the work the club puts in out there and all the money donated to Park Friends.
I will have to admit its a much nicer park than before and looks like it will get even better. The addition of the new course makes it worth driving up there to play. Now if they could just get someone up there to run it all.

Not a problem. Have a sheet just like the one you have now with a slightly different pay out schedule. prove you're a member or you get this much for 1st, instead of this much or this much for 3rd vs. this much. They may sign up after that. If there is 10 in the division, you just look at what place they are and pay accordingly.

Well here are my suggestions for your band camp tourney whether you want to hear them or not.
If the band members are not playing then they should at least be there to represent.
Personally I would like to hear them play Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" and other rock'n roll stuff throughout the round. People in the ajoining neighborhood might get drawn in as well and it would bring more attention to the event.
If not that then at least one band member per hole playing his or her instrument on each hole when I tee off. Maybe a dramatic drum roll or something or in my case a tuba would probably represent my game better.
Finally,
If they don't want to play then have them offer to caddie. $1 per hole not including tips if they run and get me something to drink. I'll give your kid $20 to start.:D

What are you complaining about? as you stated, I took 25 seconds on the drive, and 30 seconds on the putt, where did I break any rules? Oh, and you may want to check on these rules you are quoting. I have 30 seconds AFTER the other player has finished his putt and gotten out of the way, the putt is free of any distractions, and I have taken a fair amount of time to assess the putt and mark the lie. After assessing the score and determining if I was going to run at that putt and waiting on a distraction behind the basket, I'm sure I was well within the 30 seconds. Not to mention A. The drive was decent B. The putt went in C. That putt won the mini for me by 1.
Also, the drive would NOT have taken 25 seconds if I didn't slip on the run up and have to start over. Most of my other drives probably take about 15-20 seconds.
If you want to walk up to your drive and putt and just chuck away and record a nice .5 second prep time, thats fine by me. I will continue to use as much time as I want, I've never been called for anything in a sanctioned event, so get over it old man. I know there is only a certain amount of time you can hold your peepee inside your body, that isn't of my concern. Go to the doctor, get a cure for your enlarged prostate, and then when your going problem is no longer a growing problem, maybe you will become a pleasant person to be around.
