sounds like north shore will be sponsoring events with basket donations. Let me get my pitch in.
Texas state dubs would like one, Solo would like one,(speaking about SOLO....sounds like wilco or Twin Parks would be a good placement replace)Texas Women's Championship would like one, Outlaws would like one, and the course record holder should get hole 1 or 18 :D

I agree...It would be no good to loose that course. But if the new owners are going to do away with the course....what can be done? Its not like a money maker for the new owners. I would (before the new owners start thinking they own the baskets)Maybe North Shore should pump up Arrow head with another 9 and do something with the other nine. Raffle off to raise money, sponsor events, give the record holder #1 :D....But bottom line do loose the baskets to the new owners

I haven't been out there but James told me the main building complex is fenced off. The road to the lake is fenced off. He said parking is limited and to play moved number 6 you have to go around a fence at 18 and then walk back. Probably need to do 17 holes for the Mini this Sunday. I'll find out tomorrow how you get from 18 back. JP

The fenced area does not really affect the course except having to go around a fence corner. We will have the mini this Sunday.
I am still working on getting a contact name to keep me informed on what the ell they are going to do when. Probably pulling revised 6 and possibly 18 by December if not the whole course. :p JP

Hopefully, HOPEFULLY , we can adjust and move a couple of holes. The only good thing is probably 75% of the course is in the flood plain. I am calling the city this week to get property manager info and see when the next meeting is with the city council.

Ware, your off every day! :oOh you meant from work, Lucky Dog! :p
Update on the Resort: Its new name looks like it will be called the Peninsula. It is a proposed 250 condo units in a ring of building with courtyards in between with restaurants, and health and medical facilities. They are using 75 foot set back from the flood plain but are proposing constructing buildings on the bottom to inhibit views less which make no sense because the bottom is the flood plain. The residents across the now dry cove have a petition. The city is going to do a potential impact and a traffic study before approving the plans and doing a zoning change. If approved demolition of the old structure would begin immediately.
I talked with Steve Adams who is the manager of operations and he would like to keep the course on the low areas. His only concern would be his liability, which I told him we could do a sign disclaimer.
I will keep tabs with the city, Steve, and the development. Worst case scenario is moving several holes. JP

Sunday is a Go!!
I talked with and emailed the, Steve Adams, Peninsula guy and he seems very receptive to keeping a course on part of the property. He stressed that we continue to have fun. :D
He says there are several different tracts of land. The north 18 acres is not part of the current PDD/zoning request and this is where he wants to keep or put the course. From his email: "You are welcome to continue using the existing disc golf facilities as a gesture of goodwill on my part to the community. Please place a disclaimer in your website & any marketing material that states "Participants use the property at their own risk in exchange for a release of liability to the benefit of the property owner." I will also visit with my attorney - I may need to post some liability signs on the property, which I will do so at my expense. I have a comprehensive survey which I will share with you and we can lay out a plan of action for any relocations that are necessary. Most important - keep having fun!" Not real good but better than Who are you! What Baskets! Oh, Those things I had dozed over?
I am planning on meeting with him to look at the plat maps soon. To me 18 acres sounds like a nine hole or a shoved together not fun to play pitch and putt. :p JP

I wasn't sure where to post this but here.
Laddie Allen Matula, disc golf friend and founder of Lambos on the Hill disc golf course died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007 at the young age of 53. He had a true love for the sport and anyone who met him, would likely not forget him due to his outgoing, fun and sometimes zany character. He will truly be missed. Those of you interested in paying respects, Thursday, Jan. 3 - Visitation at 6pm and Rosary at 7pm at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Friday, Jan. 4 - Funeral Service at 2pm at St Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas with Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery following. I will give condolences to his family from the disc golf community and I'm sure Laddie would appreciate you sinking a birdie for him on your next round. -Chris Sandman
Most people will remember Laddie from the PDGA sanctioned Hill Country Detour Tournaments he ran at his property.
God Bless Laddies family. Jon P

The main thing that I liked about his tournament, was the fact that he took money out of his pocket to run events and took care of the players-1 thing that I havent seen from any other TD or tourney in TX. He will be missed.

The final approval of the Peninsula is scheduled the middle of this month. Once approved demolition of the old structure would begin immediately and holes 1, 2, 6*, 17, and 18 will be pulled. :(:(
Not sure yet if we can sqeeze 18 in on the remainder of the proprty or have to drop back to 9 holes. I would rater have a nice 9 hole with dual tees than a funky basturd 18 holes that no one would enjoy.

Probably 1, 2, 16, 17, 18, and 6, (the moved 6 between 18 & 1). Although the new Peninsula project has been approved nothing out there has ever gone as planned. I don't see why this is any different except they will be sold as condos. Until we have to start pulling baskets I'm not gonna worry about it.
