Love the new flag poles on the baskets . very nice

Yeah the flags help spot the basket and tell what the wind is doing.
I have gone back to a rigid steel poles and clamping them to the basket pole. I struggled with the spring thing and they won't stay errect, I hate when that happens, and the flag poles still got broken. I have a couple more to replace by Saturday if I can find the time to get supplies. :cool:

I sprayed heavily with 40% deet and did not sit on the ground and even sprayed my disc golf bag and I have chiggers almost everywhere. (thank God not everywhere) :)

it might be poison ivy you have. I seem to have gotten both it and chiggers. Not a pretty sight!

Efrain, after the Tuesday round the guys aren't in any shape to be doing work.
There is very little poison ivy at the Resort. You got to really get in the shic to find any. The more alcohol in your blood the more the chiggers like you. :D

I have a few bites, but nothing major and no poison anything. Belive me, it was not for lack of time in the shule. :)

The course looked and played better than I have ever seen it. Period. Jon Peacock, James McNair, Charles Walker, Chris Sandman and a number of other members of the North Shore Disc Golf Club do so much for that course its amazing. Benches on darn near every hole, trash cans everywhere, more mowed ares than ever before and for the event this weekend, some of the least shaded boxes had big shady umbrellas staked in the ground. You guys are the best. Thanks a ton.

If you're not a member of the NSDGC, remember that your membership fees and donations go to pay for all the great work being done for you on this course. There is never any work done on this course by a public employee or a parks department. Its all done by golfers, for golfers. Let's all be sure to tell these guys what a great job they are doing for us.

It was awesome to get to play the old #1, #2 and #3 again (I even birdied B this weekend). I don't remember C (old #3) being that well guarded though. :)

I look forward to the mini this Sunday. The fine folks at Cabo Loco have decided to continue the tradition of free trips through the buffet (started by Eddie's Restaurant when we started these monthlies in 2002) for all our monthly division winners and have offered to let us run the minis out of the bar each 1st Sunday.

Food, beverages and big screen TV. What more could you ask for a headquarters of a lil' ole monthly mini? :)

Maybe we'll start doing the CTP throw off for half the ace pots when it doesn't fall from the deck outside, instead of #2 short.

Mark what happened? Did you guys just play reg. 18? why are the scores so high? only -10 won open for 2 rounds must have had some bad weather.

You doofuses, read the headers. That's ONE 65, not two. Not that one wasn't bad enough. LOL :)

It was a fun round and after about 5 holes, including 14 and 15 which always give me trouble, I was even and leading the card and hitting some big putts. After blowing up on the birdie holes, I dedicated the rest of the round to just laughing and having fun with Mr. Wimm, who it was my rare pleasure to play with for the first time in months.

The new and improved Atwood also canned a lot of big putts in Wolf yesterday, ask Wimm. :)

And you will see him, and his putting in WACO, biatches! :D

I asked Wimm about that, Lurch, and he said it was pretty much a weekly deal.

I was afraid I wouldn't be any good at that format, since as you know, I'm not much of a talker, but Javy seemed to think I did just fine. ;)

Lake Travis is over full and baskets 14, 15, & 16 at the Resort are under water so may tees and fairways are too. :mad:Lake Travis is at 685, 4' above full. LCRA has two gates open at the dam but it may take a week plus before it is back down.
I'll update on Monday.

As of yesterday #14 is an island green (of about 2 square feet of dry land) surrounded by water (unplayable), #15 has water across the fairway (playable), and #16 teebox is under water (playable if you make up you own teebox). I played all the shorts in a casual round due to upcoming knee surgery. Wish me luck E. If I shoot anything like you afterwards, I'll be in good shape eventually!

scope and scrape should not be too bad.advice (forehand).I had my ACL replaced dec. 18 played the day before could not throw backhand from time of injury until about april or so.when I started trying backhand it was understable hyzers.played first tournament in may (coto 2003) int. took 5th .did not get my distance back until I put the orc in my bag,2 months ago(that sucked). rollers were the hardest.LEARN FOREHAND , the only way I could play for 6 months .It was a real ***** having to throw forehand on every shot over 100 ft.Vastly improved the short game.GOOD LUCK .Ihave a couple of knee braces if you need . :D:D

# 14 is the only basket that got surrounded by water. I talked to some guys Saturday night who played all 18 just make the putt on 14 and have someone wade out to retrieve it.
The lake is continuing to receed and should be down today enough to play. The water is just a little closer. :D

On the news Saturday an LCRA spokeswoman said 'yes high bacteria levels that should clear in about 7 days'. As long as your not drinking it or getting an enema you should be fine. :o

just missed you tues. john. I put in at the lvpoa marina and drove to arrowhead. hung out for a while with the locals by the water.took 5 mins from arrow head to the cove by 17's basket.I was just curious as to how far it was between the 2 courses by water.

Hole 6 at the Resort has been totally bastardized. Some one remodeling one of the condo's decided to cut all the cedar down to increase thier view. The cedars above and below the basket are cut and lying in the way.
Also I heard of an auction of 23 acres that takes in part of the course. The course is posible on 5 properties that even the tax office doesn't even know what is where. As it has always been the fate of the course is up in the air.

About the clearing we can do nothing but maybe drag the shic outa the way before Sunday. Sandaman talked to the people working and they were just clearing cedars. It made the whole a lot easier. Chris S and I are looking at where to move the basket to make it harder.
As far as the auction maybe sombebody could search for auctions and come up with something. James' wife works at Cabo Laco and she is suppose to be getting some info.

Everthing was just cut and laying there. It depends on how young and strong you are. Most stuff can be dragged outa the way. I hope the lake doesn't come back up. Its over full now.

Alright, what a day at Lago. These minis are always so much fun and its awesome to see the course like this with everything green and water in the lake. Absolutely beautiful.

Our ace pot got back going today, as half of it ($30) went to Tye Weaver. Tye and his buddies Trey Reeves and Michael Smith were in town from Corpus and really enjoyed the course.

I played Open, but I probably should've brought my game with me. :)

Mark Stevens and Joey Whitehead both eliminated the need for us to have a CTP throw-off for half the pot. It only had $30 carried over from last time and with 30 people all in the pot, they split it and got $45 each. Joey's ace was evidently a beautiful shot on #9 and Mark's was on #3...On his first throw of the round! Guess warming up before the 2 minute call is a good thing. :)

As for yours truly, not a good day to work on things due to being so tired and weak from the day before, but came away with some good tweaks on the putt and should be ready to play as well as possible in Iowa.

And it was great to see some of my friends from the City of Humidity, Ching Lizard and Matchu. Great to have y'all out and nice shooting Matchu! See you guys again soon.

Oh yeah, don't wanna forget to give some props to Marc Lujan. He started coming several months ago and up until a little while ago he was playing Rec out there. A couple of minis in Intermediate later, and he decides to play Advanced and shoots a solid -6 to win it. Way to step up Marc and nice shooting.

Perhaps its the same person(s) who chopped down the trees on #6.

may not be a disc golfer , all they took was the cage.how they got it off without removing the upper ring and chains is unknown!!!!

Sandman checked it out and somebody broke the weld on the pole that holds the lock, removed the bolts, removed the top, took the cage and slide the chains back on the pole. Sandman has taken the chain assembly because it was not secure.
I sure an sick of working and working on the course and it going to Hell. WTF? Basturds! :confused:

Jon please dont take this personally! Some ******* is really scre wing up the hard work you and your crew has put into that course! I wonder if this is someone in the neighborhood who may not be disc golf friendly...To do something like that to a basket would make a lot of noise and maybe somebody saw something suspisious...If you want me to make some flyers requesting info on course destruction, just give me the word and I can make some full-color signs and have them laminated and sent to you so they can be posted around the course and neighborhood...

A little advice......We had the same thing done so I had randy weld the tops to the pole.
No more sliding tops and bottoms off.
If they want to steal them they will, but with the top welded to the pole, they got to make a lot of noise to steal it

We are now thinking it was some last minute vactioners vandalizing. The shed near # 5 was ransacked and trash and stuff thrown everywhere.
Thanks Vinnie, we were gonna go do the welding after we put in the new 18 but of course forgot about it. We are looking to weld the top to the pole and the pole to the base so there is no play to break the welds on the welded on washers for the locks.

Chris Sandman found the basket's cage among a bunch of trash gathered in the parking lot up the hill. More investigation is under way. It appears that vandals broke into a couple of rental units and a storge building and just scattered all of the shic everywhere.
At this time there is only a pole on #5. The original pole, cage, and chain assembly is secure and will be replaced in a week or two. Getting the pole lock assembly rewelded as I type.

Okay, I'll try and tell it. Chris Sandman got a call that said 'I found your disc' and they hung up. He checked the number on caller ID, cross refferenced the address, and proceeded to the house. Upon arriving and asking if they had called about a lost disc the person denied it. Chris saw a little kid at the house anf told him 'I'll give you a dollar if you get me my disc'. The kid rushed in and bought out the disc. Chris paid him a dollar and left with his disc.
Yeah Detective Sandman. He is usually the one to find our lost, or left, discs and return them. C Sandman You Da Man! :D

To get to Lago Vista from Burnet you take 281 west to Marble Falls and then 1431 to Lago Vista. At the traffic signal in Lago go right on Lohmans and follow the directions at http://www.peakpureair.com/disc/directions.htm to get to the course.
Time is SUPPOSE to be Sign Up 9:00 am, Players Meeting 9:30.

Dana, please keep an eye on Chris for odd behavior. I SAW him stick his head under untested waters. Sheit, the Ozarka guys were nervous. There he was up and under several times. I tried my best to stop him but he refused to listen.

If anything odd comes up please call. Cooking for himself, mowing his own yard, letting his truck get dirty, wearing sleeves, being nice to his doubles partners, etc. These are signs for concern. :eek:

Unpate on surveying and consrtuction happening at the Resort. There is being an under ground pipeline being installed through the coures to connect the [*****] end of the Shores to Highland Lakes Drive. I have not seen it yet but am assuming it is either water or pressure sewer. Other rumors are around about a new marine, condo's, or what ever. They can't do a lot because at least 75% of the course is in the flood plain. I'll try and keep every one posted.

Planning on mowing a few greens and emptying some trash cans before Sunday. We are waiting on everthing to get through growing for the summer and then we will plan a mow day. Besides I still haven't put time or money into one of our riding mowers.

Well, there have been a few changes, C-dub, but the phone wasn't mine, so therefore, no more phone. As for the Mini, I will be back to run it in November, but I have not been able to get my stock back up yet. I am moving closer to it, with my first full check from my new j o b tomorrow, but I'm not there just yet.

I think it would be great if you or JP could run it for October (I'll be in OKC) as a cash payout to all divisions type deal. I'd appreciate it if someone could step up to help out, since this has been going for nearly two years now.

I think the buffet thing is no more due to lake of communiction and lack of the players eating over there.
The mini has been scheduled to start at 9:30 for a year or so now. It is the late show bastards that keep us from starting on time.

Hey Chris, You got your wish...I finally have to play pro from now on. I won pro masters at Octoberfest and took the cash. Steve Hemmeline took cash too! I planned on doing this at Waterloo anyway. So I've got a full year of Masters then at the end of 2005 I move to Grand(geezer)masters.

Hopefully Mark, Hill Country Flyers, is gonna regain momentum and be right there running the mini's and promoting local disc golf.
One reason to not have a weekly mini is when do we have it. There are minis everyday of the week in the Austin area. The biggest support Lago gets now is from RR who makes up about half of our regular mini players. Thanks Guys!
