All 2018 current International Junior Amateur members (country other than USA or Canada) who completed a PDGA sanctioned tournament (not league) in either an Amateur or Professional divison during the 2018 tour year.

4) Canadian

All 2018 current Canadian Junior Amateur members who completed three (3) PDGA sanctioned tournaments (not leagues) in either an Amateur or Professional division during the 2018 tour year.

*Note: In all cases, these criteria only apply to those members who will be 18 years or younger on their birthday in 2019.  Members turning 19 on their birthday in 2019 are not eligible for Junior Worlds.

Primary Worlds Division

A member's Primary Worlds Division is based on their class, gender, and age and is the divison they will be invited to play in at Worlds if they meet one of the above criteria. Examples of Primary Worlds Divisions for Amateurs at Junior Worlds are: Ages 16-18 in 2019 = MJ18 or FJ18; Ages 13-15 in 2019 = MJ15 or FJ15; Ages 11-12 in 2019 = MJ12 or FJ12; etc.

Important: Only Amateur members aged 8-18 in 2019 have a Primary Worlds Division held at Junior Worlds. Amateur members greater than 18 years of age in 2019 have their Primary Worlds Division held at Amateur Worlds. Pro class members at least 40 years of age in 2019 have their Primary Worlds Division held at Master Worlds. Pro class players of any age in 2019 may have Pro Worlds invites for MPO or FPO based on their player rating.

Primary Worlds Division Invite Process

A player's Primary Worlds Division Invite uses ALL of their 2018 earned Amateur points (regardless of the amateur division they earned the points in) to meet the points requirement for the player's 2019 Primary Worlds Division. This process allows for members to still receive an invite for Worlds even if they had aged into a new age bracket for which they could not have earned points in the previous year.

IMPORTANT: This primary invite process ONLY applies to current 2018 amateur members under 19 years of age in 2019 for Junior Worlds divisions. Any amateur junior-aged player (age 8-18 in 2019) wishing to earn an invite to 2019 Amateur Worlds in MA1 or FA1 will need to meet the requirements of a Secondary Worlds Invite by earning the required number of MA1 or FA1 points while actually playing in the MA1 or FA1 division. (See the "2019 Amateur Worlds - Invitation to Register Criteria" document.)

Secondary Worlds Invite Process:

The process for an invite to any division other than the member's Primary Worlds Division, uses only those 2018 points earned while actually playing in the specific division to meet that division's points requirement.

IMPORTANT: This Secondary Worlds Invite Process is the ONLY way a current 2018 amateur member below the age of 19 in 2019 can earn an invite to Amateur Worlds. To do so, they MUST earn 1500 points from actually playing in MA1 or 90 points from actually playing in FA1.

Example of the Worlds invite process

A 2018 member who is male and age 11 had earned 110 points playing MJ18, 130 points playing MJ15, and 6 points playing in MJ12.

  • Since he is a MJ12-age player (11-12) in 2019, he receives a Primary Invite for MJ12 because ALL of his Amateur points (246) equaled at least the 10 point requirement for an MJ12 Primary Invite (even though he had less than 10 points playing in MJ12.)
  • He also receives an Additional Invite for the MJ15 division because he had 130 points actually playing in the MJ15 division which met the requirement of 100 points.
  • He does NOT receive an Additional Invite for the MJ18 division as he only had 110 points playing in the MJ18 division and the requirement was 200 points.

Additional Important Notes

  • An invitation to register for Worlds, does NOT guarantee a spot at Worlds.  Timely registration is still required to get in.
  • ONLY 2018 CURRENT Amateur members (prior to 12/15/2018) earn 2018 Amateur points towards 2019 Junior Worlds invites.
  • ONLY 2018 Amateur points (those points earned playing in an Amateur division) count towards Criteria #1.
  • ONLY 2018 Amateur members (prior to 12/15/2018) can earn an invite to register for the 2019 Junior Worlds.

Please direct any questions regarding the Worlds invitation process to the PDGA Tour Manager.
