Saturday, April 4, 2009 - 20:35

The second day of the Bowling Green Amateur Championship was held with beautiful weather and also featured some great golf. So far there have been 19 rounds rated at 1000 or higher and the race in Advanced is exciting to watch. The round of the tournament so far has been Andrew Patton's amazing 48 at Phil Moore Park which gave Andrew a share of the lead at 18 under par. Only two strokes back is Shelby Township's Mitch Sylvain and is the only player so far who has two rounds rated over 1000. The final nine should be exciting tomorrow so please tune in to PDGA.com as we bring you live hole-by-hole scoring.

Below is a complete list of rounds rated 1000+. The state of Michigan has a commanding lead with five rounds versus three from both Alabama and Kentucky.

There were some hot rounds in the age protected divisions as well. In the morning round Grandmaster Karl Molitoris of Connecticut shot an incredible 46 at Kerieskes from the short tees for an unofficial 1007. That was four throws better than any one else in the pool including the Advanced Masters. However leading the Advanced Grandmasters by two is local favorite and last years tournament diretor Ernie Small. The Advanced Masters race is also quite exciting with a tie between Jerry Stacey and Jeffrey Wulf with Kevin Peterson only two back due to his hot 44 in the afternoon round. In the Senior Grandmasters Bob Fisher overcame a two throw deficit and is now leading Alabama's Jan McDonald by two.

The women's divisions are also looking exciting for tomorrow. Kenra Redibaugh and Marla Lenox are tied at 199 in Advanced Women, Cilecia Trotter has a command lead in Intermediate Women, and Sheila Hardesty is leading by two over Melinda Dyke.
