PDGA, Dynamic Discs and DGN Announce Tee Time Plan for Pro Worlds

Wednesday, August 17, 2022 - 15:00

The PDGA, along with the Host Team in Emporia and Disc Golf Network, have created a tee time plan that will see both the MPO and FPO divisions split into two equal pools for the upcoming 2022 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships. With the FPO field growing larger every year, this model is expected to be utilized in future iterations of Pro Worlds to accommodate the significant number of players, spectators, and media initiatives involved with the sport’s paramount event.

The tee time plan will see the FPO division go out first every day, with tee times starting at 7:30am Central (UTC -5:00). For the first two rounds, the top 40 players by PDGA rating will be in Pool C, while the remaining FPO will be in Pool D. Similarly, the top MPO will be in Pool A, while the remaining MPO will be in Pool B. After all players have played both courses Wednesday, a shuffle will be performed, with the top players by score landing in the C and A Pools, respectively. There will be a cut after Friday’s round in both divisions, leaving the top 90+ ties in MPO, and the top 32+ ties in FPO, to compete in the final round on Saturday, September 3rd.

This new format was created to allow for ample and expanding media opportunities, meaning that the complete rounds of both the top FPO and MPO cards will be featured live on the Disc Golf Network, with broadcast times beginning at 9:00am local (Central Daylight Time, UTC -5:00) for the FPO division, and 2:30pm local for the MPO division each day. There will also be post-produced coverage of the top two cards in each division.

We look forward to another exciting Pro Worlds event in Emporia!
