At its November 12, 2019, teleconference, the PDGA Board of Directors established a policy regarding the use of cannabidiol (CBD) products during PDGA-sanctioned events. This policy was created with guidance from the PDGA Medical Committee.

The policy reads as follows:

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound derived from the hemp or cannabis plant. Products containing CBD are becoming increasingly available to the general population in the United States and other countries.

Use of CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC is permissible by competitors during PDGA-sanctioned tournaments. However, CBD products that are inhaled (for example, through vape pens or smoking flower) must follow the same restrictions as per PDGA policies, rules and competition guidelines on tobacco use. In addition, the use of CBD products at PDGA-sanctioned events must comply with all federal, state or local laws and regulations of their respective countries.
