Minor Change to Reclassification Process

The PDGA constantly evaluates our rules, regulations, and policies to ensure they are fit for purpose. Recently, our Support & Training team analyzed the criteria for reclassification from Professional to Amateur status. They concluded that the second criterion, a five-year waiting period from the last instance of reclassification to Amateur, was too lengthy.

After analysis of the available data, PDGA staff believes that a three-year waiting period accomplishes the same purpose while being less restrictive. Accordingly, and effective immediately, that period has been shortened to three years.
