Invitation criteria for 2025 Masters Worlds Champions

  1. 2025 World Champions of Masters Worlds will be automatically invited to 2026 Masters Worlds for the same division. If they have aged into a different division for 2026, they will be invited for both divisions. If they were a 2025 World Champion of an Amateur Masters division and turned Pro, they will be invited to the corrsponding Pro division(s) for 2026 Masters Worlds.

IMPORTANT: The top 5% by rating of primary-division invitees for each division will be eligible for an early tier of registration. Those ratings are based on the February 2026 Ratings Update, not the 2025 year-end rating.

How the Invite Process Works

Primary Worlds Division

A member's Primary Worlds Division is based on their class, gender, and age and is the division they will be invited to play in at Worlds if they meet one of the above criteria. Examples of Primary Worlds Divisions for Masters Worlds are:

  • Turning age 40-49 on their birthday in 2026 = MP40 or FP40 for Pros and MA40 or FA40 for Amateurs
  • Turning age 50-54 on their birthday in 2026 = MP50 or FP50 for Pros and MA50 or FA50 for Amateurs
  • Turning age 55-59 on their birthday in 2026 = MP55 or FP55 for Pros and MA55 or FA55 for Amateurs; etc.
IMPORTANT: Only members at least 40 years of age on their birthday in 2026 have their Primary Worlds Division held at Master Worlds. Professional-class members of any age in 2026 may earn a Pro Worlds invite for MPO or FPO if their rating is high enough. Amateur-class members of any age in 2026 may earn an Amateur Worlds invite to MA1 or FA1 if their rating is high enough, or if they earn a Secondary Worlds Invite by earning 2,000 points while actually playing in MA1, or 100 points while actually playing in FA1, during 2025. Amateur members aged 8 to 18 on their birthday in 2026 have their Primary Worlds Division held at Junior Worlds.

Primary Worlds Division Invite Process

A player's Primary Worlds Division Invite uses ALL of the 2025 points they earned from divisions of their same class regardless of the division (all of Pro Points for Pros, all of Amateur Points for Amateurs), towards the requirement in #1 or #4 above. This allows
for an invite to Worlds even if they had aged into a new age bracket for which they could not have earned points in the previous year.

IMPORTANT: This primary invite process ONLY applies to current 2025 Pro or Amateur members at least 40 years of age on their birthday in 2026.

Additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite Process for Female Members

Any eligible Pro female member age 40-59 on their birthday in 2026, or eligible US Amateur member age 40-69, will have ALL of their same-class 2025 Pro Mixed division points count towards a Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite for the mixed division corresponding to their Primary Worlds Division. (Example: if an FP55 player for 2026, the corresponding 2026 mixed division would be MP55.

Any eligible FP60, FP65, FP70, FP75, or FP80 player for 2026 will receive a corresponding Pro Mixed division invite if they had earned any points in a Pro Mixed division in 2025. Any eligible US FA70, FA75, or FA80 player for 2026 will receive a corresponding Amateur Mixed Division invite if they had earned any points in an Amateur Mixed division in 2025. Any eligible Amateur International or Canadian female member earning an invite through criteria #4 or #5 will receive a corresponding Amateur Mixed division invite if they had earned any points in an Amateur Mixed division during 2025.

IMPORTANT: Only eligible Female members who turned age 40+ on their birthday in 2026 have a Primary Worlds Invite Division at the 2026 Masters Worlds with the potential for an additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite at Masters Worlds. Female Amateurs of any other age have their Primary Worlds Division and potential additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite elsewhere.

Secondary Worlds Invite Process

The process for an invite to Master Worlds in any division other than the member's Primary Worlds Division, uses only those 2025 points earned while actually playing in the specific division to meet that division's points requirement in #1 or #4 above. (within the same class.)

IMPORTANT: This Secondary Invite process for Master Worlds ONLY applies to current 2025 Pro or Amateur members at least 40 years of age on their birthday in 2026.

Example of the overall Worlds points invite process:

An eligible Pro member who is male, age 64 on his birthday on 2026, and had earned 55 points playing MP60, 300 points playing MP50, 550 points playing MP40, and 285 points playing MPO.

  • Since he is an MP60-aged player he receives a Primary Invite for MP60 because ALL of his Pro points (1,190) equaled at least the 60 point requirement for an MP60 Primary Invite (even though he had less than 60 points actually playing in MP60.)
  • He receives a Secondary Invite for the MP50 division because he had 300 points actually playing in the MP50 division and the requirement was 200 points.
  • He does NOT receive a Secondary Invite for the MP40 division as he only had 550 points actually playing in the MP40 division, but needed 900 points.
  • He does NOT receive an invite for the MPO division at Pro Worlds unless his player rating meets the Pro Worlds invite requirements.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT NOTES:

Invitees are subject to all eligibility requirements per Competition Manual 1.01, and nothing in this invitation shall be construed to create a right of the recipient to participate in this event.

  • An invitation to register for Worlds does NOT guarantee a berth at Worlds. Timely registration is still required to get in.

  • ONLY 2025 CURRENT members (prior to 12/15/2025) earn 2025 points that count towards a 2026 Worlds invite.

  • ONLY 2025 Professional points (those points earned playing in a Professional division by a Pro) count towards Criteria #1-3 for an eligible Pro player.

  • ONLY 2025 Amateur points (those points earned playing in an Amateur division by an Amateur) count towards Criteria #4-8 for an eligible Amateur player.

  • All players registering for the 2026 Masters World Championships must be BOTH a current 2026 PDGA Member and a Certified Rules Official through the last date of Masters Worlds before they can register.

Invited Amateur members must maintain their amateur status until after the 2026 Masters World Championships or they will no longer be eligible to participate.
