dont forget this week will be 7/13 - singles/alt (worst shot-drive)/dubs

worse shot on the drive then alt from there other team picks worse shot..

bring your CTP's ...

mware
Jul 11 2011, 02:49 PM
1 slight adjustment since we played that format last Wednesday (wrong score cards printed) so this Wednesday will be:
dubs/singles/alt (worst shot) This way everyone will be warmed up for Worst Shot drive or wore out :-)

may
Jul 12 2011, 04:03 PM
I would go with the wore out thing.....or the too many CFO's.......or the 103 degree heat thing..........at 103 degee's, you should be way warmed up at tee time.......And no fighting on the last 7-holes please..........its just a game.....

also just curious if the USWDGC layout could be put in or flagged so we can play that lay out for practice rounds and try and get some home field advantage for outlaws...

Yes it was and it made my mind up for me yesterday that I can no longer compete on the BIG course, maybe never did, and will see yall again when we switch to the winter course. Foot is no longer able to handle that long walk, arm no longer able to handle the long holes and don't want to become an anchor to you guys on the big course. I'm sure i will see you guys at other courses on other days, but its so-long to the big course. At 55 years of age, its time to come to grips with what you can and cannot do anymore, and OSP Big Course is something I cannot do anymore.........going to hit smaller courses on wednesdays till winter league........rock on my DBL R brothers & sisters.......FYI, someone get in a habbit of bringing a large ice chest for extra beer for after the round..

Glasses saved him trip to ER as that Boss was hauling... You could hear the crack for several holes when the disc slamed into his head (direct hit into right eye) and then he dropped like a sack of potatoes... Would not have believed the minor damage caused considering I watch it all happen. Very lucky...

all of the $5 entry goes to the hoveys that includes the ace $1 and the club $1 no payout.. if you are current then you are eligible for the ace pot and you can do with it what you want.

still needs cards to play for tags and keep score I will bring some merch of some sort for payout..

Please act nice even if you're not nice. As all of you have said a thousand times or more Wednesday is about fun & family. I imagine some of our old family will make it out tonight, so let's not get each other all riled up for nothing. My plans are to be there today to support the Hovey's. I knew Ian and played a few rounds with him as well as his dad in the past....Not worried about payout, but do have tags (old & new) to play for, heck there could even be some side bets on the round if someone gets that going, like maybe a dollar(per person) on the card........Today and the rest of the month should be about helping fellow golfers during a real tough time.......We did it for Ricky, why not John & laura Hovey?? I know I will feel better about myself when I lay my head down tonight knowing I was helping another person or persons.........Like the good book says "give unto others as you would give unto yourself".......see yall this afternoon.........like C-Ware said, bring some CTP's....you will feel better for it, believe me..

Blake was out working on the OB for the bag tag challenge/Outlaw's/USWDGC (thank you , thank you, thank you). Sounds like 1st 2 marked holes will be A & C. I think these 2 holes will be done before the mini tonight. If so the string will define the OB & previous OB markings on the strung holes will not be in play. This will affect A the most as the staples will not go in to the packed calichie road, thus moving the line in a foot or so. Just wanted to make sure you knew before the round.

Recomendation for time sake & player happiness that if there are people playing tonight that are playing Rec or Int @ Outlaw's or Rec or Int @ US Women's that they not play the string OB - unless they just plain wanna. Rec & Int will not be playing the string OB at Outlaws & Rec/Int ladies will not play OSP at all for US Women's. I'm happy to bring some print out of the hole by hole as it stands today - without the addition of 17's OB - if ya'll want. Lemme know before 3:00 if you want me to bring some so I have time to print before I leave work.

That sounds great....and anyone 55-years old or older same thing right??? Just kidding, don't want to start a shoot-out......5pm tee?? I'll be there to play the STRINGED COURSE
and see if my ankle can take all 21-holes today. At least the temps are better this week for the BIG course.....maybe that will help out......if not, then its CFO's that will.

Scores????? Good times last nite as always.......with current lay-out (OB's) round lasted way longer than I thought it would, and the winds were dead last nite...Might want to draw back tee time to 4:45 next week if the format and layout are going to be the same. Some people may have finished in the dark (if they evened finished)....nice turn out though, and some new people as well.....or at least people I did not know...

Please bring awnings & coolers this Wed to JD for use @ the Double R Disc Golf Club hospitality area @ Old Settler's Park for USWDGC this weekend. The club is preparing & serving meals for players & staff all three days, if you're able to help out, please let JD know & register on the staff link listed on the ladies page of the club website. www.dblrdgc.com to ensure you get some goodies :). We're at 71 players right now & more entries coming in every day - like 5 came in last night. I think we could really hit 100 ladies. Come out & support your club in this great showing to the ladies!! ROUND ROCK!!!!!

FYI from the williamson county website

County Prohibits Smoking in Its Parks (http://www.wilco.org/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/944/County-Prohibits-Smoking-in-Its-Parks.aspx)

By Public Information Officer on 9/13/2011 2:57 PM
The Williamson County Commissioners Court today amended the burn ban that was adopted July 19, 2011, to include prohibiting smoking in Williamson County owned parks, preserves and trails due to the extreme drought conditions and high fire danger. Outdoor cooking is allowed as long as it is done in an enclosure that serves to contain all flames and/or sparks. The order also allows welding, cutting and grinding operations or hot works operations when they comply with specific fire safety guidelines. The burn ban is in effect until October 17, 2011.

Welcome to the newest member of the Double R Disc Golf Club, Cole Hudson. You went home smelling like poo after going in to retrieve your Beast on hole 17. Pretty sure the smell of your and Keith's game was masking the smell of the muck from 17...Maybe next week Adam and Cody will come back, draw each other, and keep you from finishing DFL again. Next week we will move to the Winter Course and start over by hole 13's basket. I will give you a heads up on the start time, or you can check this thread for the info. WELCOME!!

18 holes, signup at hole 13

Sign up by 4pm, flex start 3:45-4, last card tees at 4

Format: it only makes sense that for the next 2 weeks we play Match play (4 man cards, 6 hole matches against other 3 card members, payout per card, $9 first, $3 second); if there's an odd #, then the card with the odd # of players plays SKINS with similar payout).

Reminds me of when i camped at Lake Whitney a few weeks ago. I was the model citizen, an ice chest full of steaks and chicken to smoke that night and the next......as we pulled into the park I conscientiously asked the gate attendant if I could cook with charcoal in either the park provided grills or my own covered one....thinking the ban didn't extend to that. "No" was the answer. And like a good citizen, I followed the ban, saving my food till I got back home and resigned to eating sandwiches.

Meanwhile, the guys in the spot next to us on the 2nd night, after we'd eaten our 2nd meal of sandwiches, proceeded to light their grill and cook fresh hog meat that one of the guys had killed with bow/arrow a little ways away from the campgrounds.

Moral of the story: if you don't ask, you didn't know it was against the rules.

What a way to kick off thanksgiving last week. Nice round of golf with friends, plenty of CFO's before, during and after the round. The food was off the chain, so thanks to the Coffey's for the chicken, Vinnie for the bacon wrapped shrimp and the fun times in powling. You guys (all of you) make wednesday's the best day of the week. Hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving with family and friends and look forward to another great wednesday nite this week.........and it will be hard to out-do that meal from last week......if you missed it, you missed it!!!

13 players 10 over par as a club this week...moving in the wrong direction. Maybe next week the winds will be howling and we will shoot 25 down as a club. Must be working on our handicaps, or ace running to be shooting these kinds of scores
