We can do this as soon as a club member wants to help out and handle the spreadsheet for logging all scores. I don't see us doing this every week. I don't even see us following a schedule. I can see us doing this when the weather is good and not howling winds. Would one of the ladies want to keep track of this?

Not this one, but I'll check with the other ladies. Doubt they've thought of it given how new they are to the club, but I'd be happy to provide them with the spreadsheet & see what happens.

OK - Linda Brown said she'll step up & will handle the spreadsheet. We can pick 3 nice days to play singles (or even play best score Dubs keeping comlete score for both players the entire round) to establish a handicap & then we can paly handicap when it's not howling or raining or 100.

If I remember, it had a cap on strokes allowed which might not work given our expanded skill levels at this time (many ladies & newbies). If you can e mail it to me that'd be great.

OB - 2 meters, path & beyond, pond/creek & beyond, cable, parking lot, fences, road on A, schule on C (did I forget anything?). As for payout... $3 a person with 25 peeps is $75 (estimate) let's do cash CTP's on 8 holes for about $10 each. Holes 1, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 (any one have flags). We'll also have the merch CTP's so something to win on half the holes. 4:45 cut off on sign up 5:00 start. We'll draw for cards just like with doubles. 4 person cards will need to play fast to finish before dark (don't be taking 30 minutes on hole 4).

Hey Vincent.............wake up, its not a dream.......tonight is singles!! Still don't understand why we still use the 2-meter rule. The PDGA does not use it anymore, but what the heck...............if we want to add strokes on a 21-hole monster, then I guess we add strokes. Please tell me C-Dub, you are not using the 2-meter rule in Temple????
And tonight, make sure and announce it before the round as not everyone looks at this board..........cause if I don't hear it I will not go with the 2-meter rule...............

Per the PDGA the 2 meter rule is to be enforced @ the TD's discretion & is still widely used in many events (CoTo for example). 2 meter rule (along with most of the others listed) is in effect @ all club minis & has been for about 3 years (back when you were President Keith & helped establish mini rules).

Best round at OSP for me EVER (73 - not bad for a girl:)) - long box on C & new A hole included. Played RPS for #20 after the round :( lost to V (took 66) who won to JD who lost #20 back to me :). Why you gotta go & throw your best round ever when you're trying to develop a handicap - DOH.

1st - Huge thanx to Linda for tracking the stats for us so we can play some singles w/handicap.

2nd - This was our 1st week working to establish our handicaps. We'll do 2 more weeks (not necessarily in a row) of singles just like last night to establish averages & handicaps where payout goes as cash $10 CTP's (seemed like it went good with that last night esp since I won one).

3rd - Several cards were mis-added (thanx for double checking Linda) & scores have been adjusted with no penalty. 2 strokes will be added to all mis-added scores in the future.

4th - Mass challenge was fun, but not well coordinated. Some people really care what tag they have/get, so if we do this again the person stepping up to run the tag challenge will need to better manage it.

Well that was interesting, big storm ended our round.

After the weather died down, I went back and finished 14 through 18 for me and Matty. Who do we talk to about payout?

We played dubs and didn't finish. Weather got really scarry around 7:00 and we packed it in. We were like 6 down when the storm sirens went off. Oh well not the end of the round we were looking for. It's like a big ring of fire now-everybody's back in.

I guess all the talk last week about singles kept everybody from coming out. We only had 14 show yesterday. So don't be scared and don't believe what you hear. Hell, P-dub was there and he thought it was going to be singles.

The solution Chris is for you to stop giving out the information those 4-5 people ask for eash week. Eventually people will stop asking you.

You chose not to be a cabinet member, so you're not the information source. If the cabinet has decided to choose format once we're is there - then you can't be responsible to tell those 4-5 people that continue to bother you information.

If you continue to feed them information - they'll continue to ask. It's just like a stray dog, stop feeding it & it will leave you alone - Unless you like feeding it...

I think what Chris is trying to say is that there is some members that really do care we play dubs every week. If it's something other than that they have time to make plans on whether to play the mini. Everybody through the years has gone to Chris becasue he ran the mini's for upteenth years, so it's natural they would still call him. The cabinet is trying to add some variety of what we do on Wednesdays but the majority just want to have fun, play dubs and talk trash during the mini. So in this case change isn't good ...I guess.

Next time we do singles will be a little different. We will have pro/am. $5 entry just like always with $1 to club, $1 ctp’s, $1 ace pot, $2 for payout. We will pay 1st, 2nd, and 3rd both divisions. Cards will be set how you sign up right down the list. We’ll have a few more weeks (not in a row) of this and once all the regulars have 3 rounds established will be done. 8 weeks prior to Outlaws which will be Aug 4 we’ll be doing a handicap league with these results. Big payouts and merch for the end of it.

Haven't heard back from Kenny so went out to the park at lunch to check it out. The park does have alot of the orange fencing in it but it's nothing we haven't dealt with before. They have cut throughs between the holes and only a few will take a higher throw off the box to get to, 13 will be fun. So saddle up, come out and play with a swell bunch of folks and a few Jholes. We meet at Hole 1 for a 4:45 sign-up 4:55 draw.

I did hear some jibba from c-dub that HE shot 1 down. Kinda of catch 22 on trips. With 3 shots it's hard for all to not go for it, kinda like a skins mentality. 1st dude go's for it and shanks it, 2nd dude still goes for it because he has backup and shanks it, 3rd dude can't handle the pressure and shanks as well. Had one on yesterday and it did no good...............it was so humid that you had to grab air and force it into your mouth to breath...................I think I lost 5-lbs. just playing the round........but its better than sitting at home thats for sure......good times as allways gang.

16 players signed up. 9 players finished. 4 players didn't hole up in a shelter waiting for the rain to stop - 2 ladies & 2 ams. The 2 ams were big enough to keep the ladies safe from lightning - the highest point in the park is the safest place during a storm right?

Next week all 16 players are back in free. If you don't make it next week, your $ goes to CTP's.

Saw the flash and a split second later heard the pop..........thats a little to close for this old man, and a few others. Heard that Alex ran like he was running from a pack of wolves....never did see him again.............thanks to R Torrez for plucking us up from the bathrooms behind ******.............and props to the ones that risked life & limb by finishing the round....................

Tags should be played for by the rules. Probably isn't a big thing for you to carry that tag. How fair is it at the next mini for the guys on your card to not have a shot at playing for #1. Ed has talked with him recently about mowing C-hole. From what I understand, we're a little hosed. The city doesn't "own" the dam & isn't allowed to mow it. The basket is seen as "on" the dam.

Sounds like it's time for someone to coordinate a work day. A few weed eaters & it'd be cleaned up in no time - plus then we could protect/save all the wild trees that are growing back so they can guard our basket.
