About time...............

That's right. Elvis has left the building.

No official mini this Thursday but that doesn't mean we can't run an "Outlaw Mini". Just don't tell the TDSA that I had anything to do with it.

This Sunday at 1pm it's the "Mystic Moose All CTP Shootout" also known from the old days as the "The Slim Shady Special" but since he got married, fat, and lazy, we have stolen his idea and are rapidly amassing fame and fortune by selling it as our own.

You can check out the flyer here.

http://www.tulsadiscsports.org/mysticmooseflyer.html

We had 52 players at the last event and each hole paid $26.

I've got $18 for $1 CTP per hole this Thursday if anyone is interested but there will be no mini unless the Duff-ster wants to step up and do something.

Tonight!!!...Tonight!!!...Tonight!!!

No mini!!!

Did you hear that???

No mini!!!

Next event is 1pm on Sunday!!!

Mystic Moose All CTP Shootout!!!

One round of 18 for boo-coo bucks!!!

Forecast is for sunny skies with zero percent chance of rain!!!

There will be no church people blockaid of the roads like the ones in Owacko last weekend!!!

No Twoputt to jinx the event!!!

Extra cash will be added!!!

You've played the rest now play the best!!! :)

Thats right Folks Sunday is the "Slim Shady Special" that FurDog will be running. To call it anything else woudl be copyright infringement.

Or maybe on that side of town you could call it the "shake-n-bake" special.

sschumacher
Sep 17 2009, 10:48 AM
Face it....It's "Hammer Time" and you can't touch this.

Slim only ran his at Riverside but he is welcome to run this one if he wants.

That way I could play for a change. :(

The $5 CTP deal that you ran at Owacko a couple of weeks ago doesn't even come close to paying what this will and unlike your deal, everybody has a shot at winning here.

I would let you run it but I was hoping for more than 32 people. :)

Slim Shady,...if you're out there.....come on down!!!!!

The Price is Right!!!!

twoputtok
Sep 17 2009, 11:05 AM
Unlike your deal, at mine the players didn't have to pay anything for it. I paid for it.

Top that and I'm sure you'll have a huge crowd.

sschumacher
Sep 17 2009, 11:11 AM
You paid for it with what???....The money for the benches and trash cans?

They must have fell off the truck because I haven't seen any out there.

Like I said before, I had 52 players last time with zero cash added.

Try and try as you will but you will never be worthy. :)

twoputtok
Sep 17 2009, 11:15 AM
Then you haven't been out there. Just ask those that have if they have seen any improvements.

My all CTP was out of my pocket, not course funds.
How much have you raised for your course fund?

sschumacher
Sep 17 2009, 11:31 AM
From Marie and I alone....$1800.

You would have to cut back on Drew's lunch money and horse feed if you personally want to hit that mark.

As far as money for the TDSA....Thousands!!!!! :)

The $2 mini fee for this weekend does go to the upcoming United Way Tournament on Halloween though. You don't have to wear a costume but those teams that do will receive a special perk. :)

twoputtok
Sep 17 2009, 11:45 AM
I have put in at least that much and probably more out of my pocket over the last 5 years. This is money directly out of my pocket, not including the time I took away from my business putting in courses and equipment for worlds. I'd bet that cost me at least 5 figures in income. I'd also bet that the likes of Billy Moody, Wayne Forest, Zooc, Rick Neal and others have gone out of pocket several thousand over the years, helping the club and working on courses. While your efforts are commendable, please don't think that you are the first or the only one that has done this for a course or the club. I was out of pocket over $450 just last weekend.

Still, we salute you for doing so!;)

Without Moose run, Chandler would be a shell of the pitch-n-putt is was.

sschumacher
Sep 17 2009, 12:00 PM
Well I'm not trying to single out me as being more of a contributor than anyone else. I felt that a second course at Chandler would be a big benefit for me as far as not having to borrow baskets everytime CS comes around.

My biggest tick-turd about the whole thing is that I felt the club at a minimum should have done it on their own a long time ago but thanks to you and the general consensus from others wanting super courses, I didn't feel I could get the votes from the admins to spend club money on what you and they consider to be another "Pitch N' Putt".

twoputtok
Sep 17 2009, 12:12 PM
Moose Run is NOT a pitch-n-putt. While it has some short holes, they are some what technical. Now, with the re-do of Riversdie, it is better than it ever was, as far as difficulty. The scores are proving that. The original Chandler course is still a ptich-n-putt and we need one in town for beginners.

For this Sunday's "Mystic Moose All CTP Shootout" the shelter has already been reserved by another party so we will be meeting over by hole # 10's tee pad.

This will be my last event for a while as I have nothing on the schedule for October.

There will be a added cash bonus for everyone if Bill "Slim" Moyer shows up and even more added cash if I happen to be in a good mood. :)

Where are the shelters they are supposed to do for the disc golfers?

sschumacher
Sep 18 2009, 11:14 AM
One shelter is currently by Moose # 11 and the other is by Moose # 16 and know I don't know when they are going to get around to it. :(

At this point I really don't care anymore because it doesn't rain on my events so I don't need shelters.

It only rains on Wayne's Nite Flights. :)

The All CTP is on "Bear's Lair" so all you long arms will just have to accept the inevitability of a short arm beat down. :)

The way you've finished at Riverside lately suggests that it might be better for you to just stay home.

twoputtok

why did you do the Mystical moose ctp the same day as we do the CDB memorial tournament every year. We use pavilolion3 and have around 150-200 people up their for bbq, beer, horeshoes and disc golf. Every Septmeber we do this. And you know that !!!

You are even taking money out of your own event because I would have played it as well along with a few others.

Maybee next year plan a little better so that we can each play on the desired course vs. us having to move over to MR so we can get our tourney done.

sschumacher
Sep 18 2009, 04:16 PM
First of all Hinds, your accusation that I knew about before hand may be the reason that everyday for you is just “Another day of Underpay”.

I didn’t know about it until Corey Briley called me on Wednesday and told me what was going on. If you want to blame me for ignorance than go ahead and blame Wayne also because Wayne evidentially didn’t know either when he told me that Sunday the 20th was open on the schedule. It’s been out on the flyer for several weeks now.

Had I known I wouldn’t have scheduled on that date but I’m not going to cancel this late since it is on the schedule.

As far as I’m concerned he doesn’t have to move to MR on my account as my flags will be specifically marked and I will instruct players not to mark or move any card other than ours.

We both talked about it on the phone and neither one of us seemed to have a problem with it.

He mentioned that out of his group only 20-25 people normally play DG so even if he has more it’s no problem for anyone.

If we have to stagger times we will or if he wants to combine in some way then that’s fine with me also.

Hindsight
Sep 18 2009, 04:55 PM
sorry, I thought I told you last year about it, that it was an annual deal. Thats why I assumed you knew about it.

Just play your deal and we'll play ours and hopefully it's harmonious. Just wish I could have played both and I thought you did your deal on saturdays for some reason.

Update to Hinds.

I called Corey Briley again concerning your protest and he told me to tell you that it was his choice to move to the Moose and he said that you are just mad because you know you can't beat him on that course. :)

He's cool,.... I'm cool,.... you are officially banned from all future Chandlerstocks.

Hindsight
Sep 18 2009, 05:07 PM
wasn't a protest, just a complaint. The reason it wasn't on the tdsa schedule is because it is not a tdsa event. And Corey has never beat me on Moose Run so now your just talkin smack. As for Chandlerstock : oh well, we will see how you feel come 420.

Ok, the TDSA Christmas "Mothership" will be landing this coming Saturday and Sunday on Furdog's Mountain. If you are not planning on going to Stillwater I could use a couple of helpers to hang lights. The park has a lift so you won't have to risk your life climbing the tree. We are starting with approx 350 blue LED lights just for the "Mothership" alone. Anyone wishing to donate lights please make them the blue "C5" LED type as they last longer and use less electricty so you can string more together.

They cost a little more but they are worth it. I'm trying to keep the blue color scheme but solid white & red will work also.

Standingbear said something about Home Depot offering a $3 discount for trading in your old lights but I have not verified that.

Lot's of big sponsors involved this year so I would like to make ours as bright as possible and not let those rock climbers dudes out do us.

The Chandler holiday light tour and TDSA Mothership has arrived. You can now beam up from 6-9pm every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday night through the month of December. There is also a horse and carriage ride for those of you that prefer the Donner party experience. Santa is there and look for a possible musical appearance of the new "Furdog Band" on the live entertainment stage. :)

Night golfers please remember the park closes at 9pm during the light show and 6PM every other night.

Get some hot chocolate, bring the kids, and come on out and check out the pretty colors because you won't find this at Centennial or any other disc golf park for that matter.

The park stays open till 9pm on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays through the month of December. It will close every other night at 6pm for the month of December only to provide better security for the light displays. The don't want the Grinch coming in and moving the displays to the Moose Run course I guess.

As far as Centennial goes,....the only thing operating there at night are the beavers and Dave's juvenile punks planning their next disc heist.

Centennial has unlimited hours of operation..

Actually the offcial closed hours are 11:00pm to 5:00am but there are no gates and I have seen people in there on a 24 hour basis. Since the park is accessable from the neighborhood, they really can't control it.

sschumacher
Dec 01 2009, 12:26 PM
Is that why there are no benches or trash cans on the course because people from the neighborhood just come in at night and take them?

I though the Owasso nazi cops were in control up there?

twoputtok
Dec 01 2009, 01:09 PM
Oh beleive me they are in control. The problem is that more and more people are moving here from areas like yours and they bring their little juvenile delinquents with them. Right now, the biggest hold up with the City, is budget. They are cutting left and right and a recreational park is low on the list. I don't like it but there is nothing I can do, the economy affects their tax reciepts and all of it is down right now.

However, on the upside, I think we may have found a few more benches for Black hawk.

While I did not create this, everytime I read it, the only person I can think of doing this is FurDog. I can see him doing everyone of these things. Marie sent me a copy of the letter she received from Walmart.............................

Marie insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Walmart. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, Marie is like most women - she loves to browse. Yesterday Marie received the following letter from the local Walmart.

Dear Ms. Greninger,

Over the past six months, your friend has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you
from the store. Our complaints against your friend Mr. Schumacher, are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras.

1.June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking.

2.July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3.July 7: He made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.

4.July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away'. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money..

5.August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway.

6.August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

7.August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department to which twenty children obliged..

8.August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' EMTs were called.

9.September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his
nose.

10.September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

11.October 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the 'Mission Impossible' theme.

12.October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels.

13.October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'

14.October 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!'

And last, but certainly not least:

15.October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.' One of the clerks passed out..

Why does he have to be a redneck? I think if we move the pad just north of 5's basket toward the road and move the basket north also about 20 ft, it would be fine...can't be any worse than having to throw over 3's pad on 4

Why does he have to be a redneck?

Because I've met the guy and considering that his family tree doesn't branch then he must be a redneck.

True that was what stopped our venture into the rough area east of basket 6. I am sure that we can come up with something to maintain the flow of holes.

After the hill at Chandler ices over and they close the park I'm going to invent a new DG sport by attaching a disc to the bottom of my shoes and sled down the hill standing up.

Everything should be great as long once I figure out a way to turn at the bottom.:)

I heard this story in a song that aired the the Dr Demento show a long time ago.

I figured I should post the words for Andrew "Opie" Treat now that he has converted to a real working stiff at the Pro Bass Shop and I never hardly see him post or play anymore. Maybe he can win over a few more sales telling this fish story to reluctant customers.

Opie, this one's for you buddy.:D

I was driving in downtown Atlantis. My Barracuda was in the shop so I was in a rented Stingray and it was over heating. I pulled into a Shell station and they said I had blown a seal. I said “Fix the **** thing and leave my private life out of it ok pal?”

While they were doing that I walked over to a place called the Oyster bar. A real dive but I knew the owner. He used to play for the Dolphins. I yelled “Hi Gil”. You have to yell because he’s hard of Herring.

Gil was also down on his luck. Fact is he was barely keeping his head below water. I bellied up to the sand bar and he poured me the usual, rusty snail, hold the grunion, shaken not stirred with a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich on the side. Heavy on the Mako.

I slipped him a fin, on porpoise. I was feeling good. I even dropped a sand dollar in the box for Jerry’s squids,…. for the halibut.:)

Well the place was crowded. We were packed in like Sardines. They were all there to listen to the big band sounds of Tommy Dorsal. What Sole. Tommy was rocking the place with a very popular tuna, “Sammonchanted Evening” and the stage was surrounded by screaming groupers. Probably there to see the bass player.

One of them was this cute little Yellowtail and she’s giving me the eye. So if figured this was my chance for a little fun. You know,……piece of Pisces. But she said things I just couldn’t fathom. She was too deep. Seemed to be under a lot of pressure. Boy could she drink. She drank like a, ….., she drank a lot. I said “What’s your sign?” She said “Aquarian.” I said “Great, lets get tanked.” :o

I invited her up to my place for a little midnight bait. I said “Come on baby it will only take a few minnows.” She threw me that same old line…..”Not tonight, I’ve got a Haddock.” And she wasn’t kidding either because in came the biggest, meanest Haddock I had ever seen come down the Pike. He was covered with muscles.

He came over to me and said “Listen shrimp, don’t you come trolling around here.” What a crab. This guy was steamed. I could see the anchor in his eyes. I turned to him and said “Abaloney, you’re just being shellfish.”

Well I knew there was going to be trouble and so did Gil because he was already on the phone to the Cods.

The Haddock hits me with a sucker punch. I catch him with a left hook. He eels over. It was a flute but there he was lying on the deck flat as a Mackerel,….kelpless. I said “Forget the Cods Gil, this guy is going to need a Sturgeon.”

Well the Yellowtail was impressed by the way I landed her boyfriend. She came over to me and said “Hey big boy, you’re really a game fish. What’s your name?” I said…..”Marlin”.

Well from then on we had a whale of a time. I took her to dinner. I took her to dance. I bought her a bouquet of Flounders. Then I went home with her.

What did I get for my trouble?.....A case of the Clams.:(

dolphins arent fish :|

The name is originally from Ancient Greek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Greek) δελφίς (delphs; "dolphin"), which was related to the Greek δελφύς (delphys; "womb"). The animal's name can therefore be interpreted as meaning "a 'fish' with a womb".[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolphin#cite_note-0) The name was transmitted via the Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin) delphinus, Middle Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_Latin) dolfinus and the Old French (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_French) daulphin, which reintroduced the ph into the word.
The word is used in a few different ways. It can mean:

Any member of the family Delphinidae (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphinidae) (oceanic dolphins),
Any member of the families Delphinidae and Platanistoidea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platanistoidea) (oceanic and river dolphins),
Any member of the suborder Odontoceti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odontoceti) (toothed whales; these include the above families and some others),
Used casually as a synonym for Bottlenose Dolphin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottlenose_Dolphin), the most common and familiar species of dolphin.
This article uses the second definition and does not describe Porpoises (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porpoise) (suborder Odontoceti, family Phocoenidae (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phocoenidae)). Orcas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orca) and some closely related species belong to the Delphinidae family and therefore qualify as dolphins, even though they are called whales (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whale) in common language. A group of dolphins is called a "school" or a "pod". Male dolphins are called "bulls", females "cows" and young dolphins are called "calves".[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolphin#cite_note-1)

I just got off the phone with Jerry Stacey. Todays newspaper is predicting 50% precip tonight and Friday with 40% on Saturday so to be safe we are going to cancel the pour this weekend. Were thinking it might be too soggy and muddy for the truck in some spots.

On top of that, I dont want the possible sound of a cement truck echoing across the field during the ribbon ceremony at the Rec Center Grand Opening. There will be a lot of media and big shots there so rain or no rain cancelling is probably the safest to go.

Its no big deal because its going to happen someday and we all want it done right.

The next possible date I see is May 8th.

In the meantime everyone is invited to the grand opening of the new rec center going on from 11am - 3pm. Wayne, Marie, and I will be there manning a table for the TDSA. There will be demonstations and food inside the rec center along with show cars in the parking lot and a "Kid Zone" complete with a Jupiter Jump just for Wise and Hinds.

Ok, due to some sneaky dealings and dirty buffalo'ing of the part of the Popa Treat and "The Wayne'ster" I guess I'm running the Chandler mini tonight even though I just noticed it on the schedule today. I didn't think I was starting until May but SURPRISE!!!!

I'll have a limited amount of disc stock left from last weekend so if you can't find something you want I will bank you until next week only.

I'll try to be there by 5:30 and send you out as flex starts.

Don't everybody show up at once because I'm still kind of tired and grumpy.

Perhaps some of you should stay home and mow the lawn.:)

Also, I'm looking for the owner of a lost cell phone that was turned in last Saturday night at Lund's party. I called one of the missed calls and gave my cell number for them to call me back but I'm starting to wonder if he lost my number. I believe he said it was his son's phone.

Anyway I think the battery is dead and the true owner needs to come up and claim it because the 900 (porno) numbers I've been calling are going to want payment soon.;)

Yes is was a very nice showing for the TDSA. I was told by the Chandler activity director, Tricia Gunnells, that we had the # 1 display. Special thanks to Wayne for bringing out a ton of mags, flyers, and general info on DG.

I got to meet the most friendly and best county commisioner in the world, Karen Keith. She even putted at the basket and vowed to play at the next United Way event so Hinds, you're off the team and Karen is on. I believe that date is also her birthday so I promised her a cake and to have a personal caddie for her.

Marie and I signed up for drum classes in May and she even got up and did a imprompt solo for the crowd in the refreshment area.

I want to thank Jim Geurin and Jose Mendoza and his family for coming out. From what I understand Dave Wise drove by but did not come in to check it out.

Special thanks to George Skinner for bringing out the new maps and taking the photos.

I can tell you all that with the city economy in the dumps and city rec buildings closing, it's nice to see something good happening for a change and good things are happening at Chandler. :)

Ok, here is a revision to my earlier post today.

SATURDAY!!!...SATURDAY!!!...SATURDAY!!!

If you had planned on going to the Duff special at Mack Taylor than please go. I am not trying to take players away from his event even though the little weasel did get in early on scheduling and steal this weekend. j/k

As many may know I have been trying to schedule the first nine pads poured at Chandler for some weeks now but due to snow, rain, other local events, or the threat of bad weather, I’ve had to postpone it.

Now that we got a good weather weekend coming up we are going for it.

If you are going to be in town and were not planning on playing Mack it would be greatly appreciated if you could come out on Saturday morning and lend a hand getting this done. We will do nine pads all together.

The cement truck will be there at 6am. Yes, I realize this is very early in the day but it’s all I could get scheduling this late.

Our current core crew to have committed to be there at 6am are:

Jerry Stacey, BVA, Gary Nail, Cris Hicks, Dave Wise, and myself. We really need about four or six more guys who can step up with the initial pour when the truck shows up. The pour should only take about 1-1/2 hours so if you want to play at Duff’s deal at Mack Taylor you will still be able to make it. We also need a few of those that aren’t doing “The Mack” to come out throughout the morning and afternoon to guard the pads and keep the vandals out.

Even if you do play “The Mack” we could still use you in the afternoon after the mini for a couple of hours.

Please don’t come out expecting to play the Moose because I will have barriers up and the baskets bagged and I will burn a hole in your head with my evil glare.

For those that can make it by 6am we could use 1 more wheelbarrow to truck the cement to a few pads so if you can bring one please let me know. All pads have been scrapped by the park guys so no digging will be required.

BVA and I will be out Friday afternoon to assemble and set the forms.

I know its late notice and people might have things to do but I’m asking now for a few good volunteers to come out and help push this fine course closer to completion.

If you think you can make it please post here or call me on my cell at 636-5704.

If you think you might come over after Duff's deal then call me and I will let you know if we've got enough pad sitters.

sschumacher
May 06 2010, 05:30 PM
Ok, as an added incentive to make early birds out of some of you, I will offer free entry to Duff's special for the first six volunteers other than those already listed above that can make it by 6am and help for roughly 1-1/2 hours until the initial pour is completed.

I'll even Furdog it by saying 6am-6:10am.

Is that not enough? What's it going to take?

Free entry into my mini's for the rest of the month of May?:)

Free mulligans for a year?

Free entry into the Rock'N' Disc Golf Festival in October?

I have a wheelbarrow I'll bring. Anything else? Shovels?

I got one wheel barrel but if you could bring yours that would be great. I think the only pad the cement truck might have trouble getting to will be # 4 and maybe # 5.

I'm going to scacrafice the golden shovel I got from the worlds. There won't be any diggin required but you might bring yours just in case to push the cement around in the form.

I already have my whell barrow loaded up. For those coming out at 6 to help with the pour. Wear shoes, shirts and pants you don't care about. Concrete does not wash out. For those bringing shovels, yes we will need a few but only to work on dirt around the forms. Bring a metal rake if you have them. Not a leaf rake. The rakes make it easier to move the wet concrete.

FurDog said he would be out there Friday evening getting forms ready, this is very important. If you can't help Sat can you be out there Friday evening?

Furdog will post on here but I know he will need help this evening. Getting forms ready is a lot of work. The have to be deep enough and dirt must be filled around the forms to prevent leakage.

Look forward to seeing everyone out early on Saturday, this won't seem like work, we'll all have a good time. If everyone shows up, the pour will go very fast.

For all you youngs guys that have visions of building or designing courses, YOU NEED to be here. This will be a learning experience you must have. Us old guys will not be around forever to show you this. Its not hard but there IS an art to it. Pads can make or break a course.

Update Noon Friday.

I just got back from the course. I did a ride around with the park guys and noted certain pads that need to be scrapped a little wider. Mike Acostas is working on widening them.

I will be going back out there in a little while to help. BVA said he will be out there around 4pm. When he gets there we will start assembling the forms, cutting the re-mesh, and setting them. We could use some help as Dave noted so I appreciate anyone that can come out. I have a shovel but a straight "sharpie" type shovel would help better.

I’ve always heard that if you build it they will come. What I didn’t know is how many would come at 6am.

Marie and I want to give some high paws of thanks to the following super group of people who gave up some beauty sleep to help with the pour this weekend.

Ryan Nance
Ryan Mays
Drew Custer
Pennycamp
Matt Shipley
Josh Cathey
Ian Curran
Paul Dorries
Jim Geurin
Jeremy Geiger
George Skinner
Mike Treat
Mike Coberly
Cris Hicks
Dave Wise
Gary Nail
BVA
Jerry and Carrie Stacey

Originally the first six that arrived at 6am to help the core group were to get free entry into Duff’s mini but I ended up giving all the names to Duff for free entry.

Wayne Forest came out after working on Haikey a little later to provide some babysitting support.

I want to give to extra special thanks to the following…

BVA for coming out on Friday night to help set the forms providing a very good learning experience for me.

Gary Nail for bringing the ultimate finishing brush and Jerry and Carrie Stacey for staying out there with me till 6:30 pm to keep the vandals away. Everyone can thank Carrie Stacey for the cool edging around those pads.

This was definitely a great pour. Pads for holes 1 thru 5, plus (new # 6, # 7, & # 11), and # 12 for a total of nine pads altogether. Old # 11 basket should be moved to its new location some time this week.

If I forgot to mention someone I apoligize. PM me and I’ll get you on the list.

Thanks again to everyone. I promise when we go to pour the final 9 in the future there will be no 6am wake up calls.

May 13 2010, 11:03 AM
Well there will be no "carrots" of enticement for pouring the final nine. Weather permitting it will be Saturday May the 22nd. Those that are wanting to play in Bartlesville please go.

I need those that aren't playing to step up and help us push this through. This time I will be asking for specific time commitments from those that can come out and watch the pads. Jerry, Carrie, and I were out there until 7:30pm and although it's really my job to stay as late as necessary, Jerry and Carrie should had had some relief from those out there that consider themselves to be TDSA members and look forward to playing on this course when it is finished.

I'm looking for people that can commit to 2-3 hour shifts during the day to watch the pads. I can't offer anymore rewards other than the one you will get knowing that years from now you can take pride in knowing that you were a part of something good.

I thinking I'm going to need 4 people watching at all times.

In the morning we will have the core group skeeting and finishing but they shouldn't be the ones that have to stay all day.

Come on people. Volunteer for a time slot during the day and lets finish this.

Ok, the time is set.

I promised I wouldn't do it to you again but after seeing how well last weekend went and talking to Jerry Stacey the next pour to finish the final nine at Chandler will be Saturday May 22nd at 6AM.

We will have the core group of myself, Jerry Stacey, Carrie Stacey, Gary Nail, BVA, Hicks, & Dave Wise if he can make it. I need four "Muckers" at 6am.

If the rest of you can commit to a 2-3 hour watch shift through out the day it would be great. Please post a time frame on the board so I can get an idea of who can be there and when. Like I said before we'll need at least one person in four different locations throughout the day. Hopefully with a little more direct sun and warmth these puppies with be done by 5pm.

Thanks Paul,

I think we've got the morning covered up until 11am so pick anytime after that. I appreciate whatever time you can donate. I will bag the baskets, barricade the parking lot, and hole # 1 so I'm not too worried about DG'ers playing on the course. Holes that really need the most attention will be # 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, & 18.

I'll have the shelters taped off as well.

I'm thinking we pour the holes listed first as they will be the ones most visible to the vandels. The 3 pads in the woods are more hidden.

Does anyone know what size of trash bag will cover those baskets? The ones I had last time were too small.

I'll have a better idea who's coming or staying on Saturday so call me on my cell 636-5704 before you come out.

Last time it thinned out about 2pm to where it was just Jerry, Carrie, and myself. I'll be there all day no matter what but Jerry and Carrie shouldn't have to stay out there until 6:30 like last time considering they were there at 6am.

Also special thanks to Teresa Duff (pad sitter) and for driving all the way back from Inola after dark to bring us a bottle of vodka. Liquid courage was was just what I needed to finally drive those little punks and their parents out of the park.;)

Finally, a big thanks to Mike Acosta, county park employee. He also trimmed some branches for the truck to pass and pad sit till 4pm, left, and then came back for a little while.

Thanks Brad. Marie and I are very thankful and happy to see it finally come together. The idea was the result of the super high Marie and I had after we did our first CS. It had always been John "Brother Love" Green's vision since the AM worlds to have another course out there and had he not retired I imagine that sooner or later he and the TDSA would have built it as well.

Marie and I just got the ball rolling and she has been my inspiration all the way. I also can't say enough about Pat Standingbear and the park crew out there for being super helpful and very friendly to our ideas. Not forgetting the TDSA which has doled out approx $2000 so far on cemment, forms, and misc materials. A lot of thanks can be given also to the players that support CS with their camping fees and show up and support the local TDSA minis. Whether you're a TDSA member or not, by showing up you're still helping to make things like this happen.

And I just want to say to my long time friend and arch enemy Dave Wise,.....no beaver homes were destroyed in the building of this course.:D

That's not what the newspaper says!!!!:D

Finally, no more garranteed dominance by Poppa Treat over "The Dog"!!!!

As the Doors used to sing...."This is the end....The end my friend.":)

All you Advanced Grand Masters better watch out from now on.:p

And as for the upcoming "Slane vs Furdog Beatdown in T-town", take note that we tied!!!! This was a prelimary exhibition and we will be selling tickets at the main event and all of you threw your $20 down with Duff and took me to win at 10-1 odds can start feeling better about your choice to pick the "Underdog".:D

Matt did a great job running this mini and I look forward to coming back to play on the Moose. After years and years of playing on the short course, the Moose (while only slightly tougher) provides a nice change of pace and a more intimate feel especially back in the woods. Nice design job Hicks.

Playing on the ladies card was fun and I want to apoligize for using the "B" word on one hole when I missed my putt.:(

Judging from the nice turnout, it doesn't appear that running a mini on Moose really scared anyone away either. Matt, it's up to you on which course you want to use in the month of June but I recommend Moose all the way. We can always go back to Bear's Lair in the fall when the days get shorter.

no excuses...I won it fair and square

Fair and square?

Dan Bougher Pro Master 950 rating
Sarah Slane Am 799 rating.

That a 150 point spread and you gave her 6 strokes. Not sure how you figure that fair and square but what ever makes you feel better about it.

This from the PDGA website

How can you use the rating numbers for handicapping?

Every throw equals about 10 rating points on a typical 18-hole course with an SSA near 50. If your scores average 10 throws over SSA, your rating will be 100 points lower than 1000 which would be 900. So a player with rating of 950, who is about 5 throws better than a player with a 900 rating, should probably spot the 900 rated player about 4 to 5 throws if they are trying to level the playing field for the round.

My name is Furdog and welcome to the "No spin" zone.

First of all, what a cluster this was. Matthew, in the words of Donald Trump, youre fired!!! Finish your schedule for the month of June and clean out your desk.

I said I wanted to play in Pro GRAND Master not Open. I figured your dad would man up and do the same but had I known he was going to bag down to Advanced I would have done the same. Im not there to donate to the OPEN group other than maybe Gary Harrison because hes the only one that is worthy of my spare cash. Im glad to see him take 1st.

Second, no free CTP, giveaways, or casino hole???. What's the deal???? Thats how WE roll at Chandler. Not just me but Duff as well. This is not Riverside where you fight for parking, maybe get a free mully and some eye candy on the side. More is more at Chandler.

Third, whenever youve got old TDSA TDs or Admins playing you should give them a TD courtesy of assigning them on a hole close to the parking lot. Young guys walk because they havent been In Country as long as old guys have. Lets not turn this into Centennial.

Also, the County doesnt mind us parking at the old shelter during weeknight minis on the short course as nobody normally rents during the week. Its the weekends that they are concerned about.

This bad karma is also why your Celtics lost last night.:(

This whole match was rigged. I dont blame you or Pops totally because Im sure Wise was pulling strings behind the scenes.

As for the match for those of you that werent there, it was Wise, Treat, Penny, and me on the card. We started on hole 6.

Penny threw out the first line of trash talk but said he was only going to do it once and for the most part he kept his word and was very respectful.

Mike Treat was very respectful also and quiet as a possible future SC would be. Other than me texting some trash before the round and him return texting after, I dont remember too much trash talk between us during the round. And in reality, why would he need to when he had Wise there to do it for him. Yep, thats right. I may be a Furdog but Wise is the biggest Lapdog anyone could ever ask for.

I apoligize to Mr Treat and Penny for having to listen to Wise and I snipe at each other for the whole round about things that had nothing to do with DG. I believe everything but our mothers were brought into the conversation. On my part mainly to counter his BS and hopefully distract Treat with misdirection. It reminded me of a grade school fight where you show up by yourself and the other kid has brought his big brothers with him.

Funny though, Wise is the only one I know lame enough to bring one firecracker to an air horn party. I knew he was packing some type of secret device to distract me and had I grabbed the lead I'm sure the "nukes" would have come out but considering he didnt do anything for the whole round I couldnt resist pulling out my secret weapon on the last hole and blasting it in his ear.

As for the play, his crap didnt bother me too much. I fell behind by two early and had my shots at a comeback. Treat did start to faulter a few times but everytime he did Wise would take him back in the woods for a pep talk and to fluff him up. There were two long putts I remember him making that killed me.

Treat won this round but he knows from now on Im going to be lurking in the shadows. He had to play his best game to get a 44 and well see how his does in the future when Avalanch Kenny is not around to coach him. And that goes for Skinner, Forest, and all you other advanced grand masters!!! Well see how the cards fall at the upcoming Duff Special!

Good things did happen for me though. $3 from Wise on dollar challenges, I found my tag which I thought was still at home mixed in with CS stuff, and once again I tied Slane, thus debunking rumors that she owns me.

And speaking of Slane, I love how some of you guys were giving me crap about picking on a woman yet no one but me gave The Donkey any grief about it last night. Now it starts to show up on the board as it very well should.

Bougher should be banned for life but I also believe there was an Owasso conspiracy going on with Wise involved in the background to keep me from having a shot at that tag. Him posting against Bougher today is just him trying to cover his tracks and make him look like he's coming to help a woman in distress.

If all Bougher can offer a woman is six strokes then its no wonder his wife is probably frustrated.

This type of stuff should not be allowed to stand and it is evidence of what happens when two of Owassos biggest con men are allowed into TDSA events.

The war will continue my friends and if some of you are tired of these injustices and dirty "under the table" dealings then write MY name in for State Coodinator on the ballot for true change and prosperity for all!!!:D

Well that is not the post I was hoping for but it will have to do.

Furdog played a good round and I can tell you he is a lot better than he used to be.

I had nothing to do with the card alignment and I thought you and I were in the same division. Matt placed me in advanced which worked out, though I seldom win in that division.

My official battle with Furdog is over. I proved my point and that is all I need to do.

I would like to respond to his faulter comment. I threw a nice two finger on 18 that skipped into the woods. My putt hit basket and then set on a perfect course and rolled 50 feet back into the woods. I took a 4 and Furdog a 2.

From that point on I owned the Dog. Birdie on 1, putt in the bottom of the basket on 2 but flopped out, birdie 3, 4 and almost birdied 5. Furdog took a series of 3's and 4's during the final holes.

I did hit long putts when I had to. Trust me, Wise and Penny had nothing to do with those babies..

Furdog played his best and I was proud of him. I consider this matter closed.

Disregard any comments towards Matt, he did a great job again...

DoughDuff
Jun 04 2010, 05:10 PM
So you don't think that having Twoputt and Penny on the card effected Furdogs game at all?

sschumacher
Jun 04 2010, 05:53 PM
With respect to Treat, probably not Duff. I think my best on the short is like 46. Not sure if Treat normally shoots a 44 out there either though.

I had a sure birdie on #14 and he canned a good putt to keep a two stroke lead. I believe he got another stroke on me on # 17 and then let me back in the door on #18.

We both birdied # 1. He chained out his birdie putt on # 2 I believe but canned another long one on # 3 for a bird. At that point I basically conceded because I don't normally birdie # 4 & # 5.

Mike, I love you man but DG at Chandler needs drama whether real or manufactured. You started it last week by losing to me and created it this week by asking for a rematch. We start with afternoon soaps and then we work our way into primetime. Welcome to Hollywood. There arent any -850 rated and lower hacks that I can gain any respect by picking on so Ive got to start somewhere.

Last week on the ladies card it was all friendly peace, love, and disc golf, but last night with Wise there the atmosphere was totally hostile. Wise even resorted to bringing some 7 foot ape with him to threaten to beat me up in the parking lot.

Tell me something Hinds. Did Woody really hire you at Crow Creek as a "Door Man" or a "Door Mat"? I can see why he didn't hire you in a "bouncer" position but I just can't understand why he would put your face as the first thing someone sees when they walk into his establishiment. That would make me want to start a fight right then and there.:)
