That's why I'm bringing Coda in to "Coda Proof" it.
It probably won't work. There wasn't really enough room over there to do what I wanted to do without getting in someone else's way. I'm just trying to do it a simple as possible for now without have a club "Let's chop our way thru the woods day". What I have now is not final but Standingbear didn't seem to have a problem with it so in general we'll work with it for now.

After last nights Admin meeting, they have agreed to allow FurDog to retain his mountian on a probationary status. He was admonished for his actions at another Td's mini and his less than honest reporting of results to the Tulsa World.
I am satisfied at this time that he is well aware that any future actions as those mentioned earlier will result in his immediate removal from Chandler. ;) :D

StandingBear is aware of the recent coo attempt by you and your lackies and has told me that should I be removed from power, he will pull all the baskets and there will be no more DG course at Chandler.
I'm sure you don't care but you and your buddies will ultimately have to be watching over your shoulders since you all may end up the target of those that enjoy that course. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif....Some of those people play GTA4 also. :D

The only reason you gave away that roc is because you lied and your Rock-em Soc-em Robot lackie backed your story. I presented hard copy evidence at the meeting. You knew I would ride you on it until you coughed it up so you had no other choice at that point. I'm surprised your wife gave you permission.

Jun 19 2008, 10:10 AM
Both Rocs were there, I can't help it if the TD won his own Roc and Bougher wasn't closer he was just spouting off. So I put another one up and we had 20 pros and about 20 Ams at DOVILLIO. The club hasn't seen those numbers at Dovillio since the Carl Butts days.
That is just proof the players were/are tired of Riverside / Chandler every week. If it weren't for you being TD and the fact I just like to rattle your cage, I wouldn't waste my time driving out there. :o

I like how you avoided my question with a question of your own but I'll answer you.
If it's a normal CTP where everybody, just like the ace pot, has money in it then yes I taking it if I win. If I add money to the ace pot which already consists of other people's money, yes I'll take it.
If I throw in a free CTP (shirt, disc, mini) or someone donates a free CTP to my event then no I will not accept it. It would be like me winning the sheep that you donated at CS. You know I really wanted it, but it just wouldn't be right. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
As far as the Pro Legend Win?
Sorry, that's mine and I am paying for it under TDSA double-secret probation that you and your lackies insisted on even though you and he have this Roc conflict where it was advertised but according to your previous posted statements, it didn't exist? Obviously more sour grapes and cry babying from the losing team of Wise'n Opie. :(....
Some might say you two are just being poor sports but I'm beginning to think you guys are just poor.
The FD bag tags are going to happen. I mentioned something about it at the meeting the other night but Andrew kept pounding his salt shaker and wouldn't let me speak. Going to an admin meeting with him as the chair person is like watching the TV sitcom "Nightcourt" except it's illegal to talk to anyone about it the next day.
WAFDA (remember those guys that sometimes look up to us?) offers a bag tag with their club membership. Very colorful due to the fine work of Mr McKee. I currently have # 11. I think he as sold something like 60 some of them.
I'm thinking about selling mine for $20. $15 of that will go to your one year TDSA renewal or new membership in an effort to boost club membership. One of the perks to having an FD bagtag is that it will get you a free mully at FD mini's only along with other perks and advantages during the 25th Chandlerstock next year. They will not be sold in a first come basis. All tags, (maybe 50 or 100) will be put into a bag and will be randomly drawn at purchase. So # 1 may not come out for a while but for an extra $2 (going back to the club) you can throw your tag back in and pick another.
Ultimately these will become like the Ma-zeppa 7up Un-cola cards of the 70s. Opie you wouldnt know what those are. :(
This has nothing to do with the Dan Bougher bag tag deal this year and I probably wont introduce the FD tag until 2009 in celebration of CS 25. :)
Remember....you heard about it here first because a certain Red-Haired Admin and his co-snorting lawnboy will probably try and steal my idea and claim it as their own. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

First of all I was invited, just not by you.
As a TD and a lifetime TDSA member if feel I have an equal right just like you to speak unless you're suggesting that the current policy of the club is to not listen to it's membership. :(
I showed up to turn in money, not take it out. :p...From now on you can just come and collect it from me yourself Nancy.
Club business should be amoungst Admins but what I brought up just now was my business and I thought it might boost club membership. On top of that you were there to trash on me so I'm going to defend myself weather you like it or not.
I know you can't deal with it but sometimes it's hard to sell a membership based on one vote a year, a picnic, and a dollar off club stock. Why don't you try doing it or get out of the way.
Not everything said there needs to be "TOP SECRET". Is that how you treat your policy holders?
Ok, Wayne sells mullies to raise money for the OO. Nicolson sells mullies for the OO. What about the people the people that can't afford them? Aren't the people with money getting an advantage in the mini over the ones without? :(
Come on? What you're charging me on is ALREADY HAPPENING?
The only person that would be paying $2 to reach in for the # 1 tag is YOU. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif...I specifically put that in there just for you because I knew you would blow your whole wad for bragging rights. Nobody would probably want that # 1 tag more than you. :D
A "specific course" bag tag is my idea. The the perks of it are only good at my course although the club should do it city wide. If you don't want to give away a mully than throw the tags into a bag and have a drawing for a free entry. Maybe that will encourage people that have them to bring them.
If you think you're speaking for the club then I'll charge $15 and offer them as fund raisers for the new course or CS25. Lil'Moose is already working on a design. I just thought it might be something good for the club membership. The only people renewing or getting new memberships at Chandler right now are those that have too because they hit an ace.

You're just one in a long line of people that have tried different ideas to boost membership. The oustside world thinks this club is strong and it is but only due to less than 20 annual paying members. Thats right buddy, less than 20. The rest are life timers or honorary, of which I have always disagreed with the life time deal. A life time membership, like the one you have never generates another dollar for the club and with elections and such it costs the club money to maintian it all. I have always paid my annual or semi-annual as it is now just to keep membership dollars coming in.
How soon you forget, back about three years ago I sold bag tags for $15 or they could get a tag and a membership for $25, thus saving them $5 and it worked. I turned in a lot of memebrships. But since that time the club has never really had a membership drive. Only the club picnics, that aren't attended any more than a good Saturday mini.
I agree that a club membership needs to be something desired by players not something we twist their wrist to get. I had even suggested that non-members playing at a mini be charged an additioanl $1 or $2. Kind of like the new PDGA $10 temp fee. I f you plan on playing more than a couple of events, it makes sense to join. This idea was shot down by the admins quickly.
I find it hard to understand with all of the resources that the club has that there has not been a committe to address this very issue. I sent the club a detailed membership listing and it should have been an eye opening experience but I haven't seen anything done with it. :p

This was the overall breakdown of the TDSA membership
Life Time Members = 74 (17%)
Honorary Members = 8 (2%)
Paid Thru 2009 =13 (3%)
Paid Thru 2008 =8 (2%)
Expired for 2007 = 32 (7%)
Non Paid since 2006 = 286 (68%)
Total Membership = 421

I dont think the club needs to raise fees now. The only thing a TD can give away without cost to himself is a mulligan. I took advantage of the lifetime membership because it came with a small tag with your number on it. I dont even know where it is now.
To have an effective bag tag system all participating TDs really need to be inventive on how they can encourage someone to buy one.
Mulligans is one way but you dont have to give one away at every mini and I dont think you should give away more than one.
You could mix all the tags up and whomever got theirs pulled could get some type of discount. Maybe $1,. maybe $2 now and then. Free entry for someone every once in a while. Something like a bag tag lotto or bag tag door prize. :)
I think I'm going to call mine the FD Moosigan Pass.
twoputtok
Jun 19 2008, 06:03 PM
Its not about raising the fees, its about making membership more attractive to them. Avoiding fees is an attraction.
I just don't agree with only the bag tag holders getting a mulligan. For boosting membership, it is a proven fact that if they feel it is a savings or a good value for the money then they will buy it.
As it is right now, the only thing the members get is a constant schedule of events and a discount on plastic of a $1. The non-members get the same benefits, other than the $1 discount, so where is the incentive to become a member?
The tags do encourage the players that bought tags to come out but thats about it.
Maybe a few "members only" special events kind of like a special invite. Do plenty of give aways and prizes but for members only.
Oh and stop selling lifetime memberships and go back to dues of $15 per year instead of $20 for two years. Or $20 for one year with a special members only shirt.
Then make the life time membership at least $100.

This has changed from a meaningless, and increasingly less entertaining, Furdog bash, into a discussion that might actually have some positive outcome...
...what the hell is wrong here?!
But seriously this is a great topic for the message board. This is the kind of thing the message board creators envisioned (for all I know)....
I could see how the club's membership could seem like a ripoff, or generally unappealing.
After Boy Scouts, which had monthly dues of $6 (among other fees), we just switched over to paying our dues like Wise does...and I feel that, if you can, that is the best thing to do for the reasons that Wise mentioned.
But membership needs to include more than the picnic, minis, and a supposed dollar off.
As far as the Riverside mini's payout, if you ask Forest we sell our discs a dollar off "retail" price. So really we give a dollar off to everyone.
If Furdog could remember what happened at the meeting, we decided to come up with ideas for new membership tactics...
So thanks for making a big thing on the board about it Scott, I am sure you were just trying to get more ideas and not trying to take credit for others ideas...

First of all look at my thread with almost 6000 views compared to yours with less than 2000 views. It is obviously going to be less entertaining for you when your short comings are exposed. People from all over the country tune into the Wisen Dog show. This board doesnt have to be all business. If you dont like it then DONT LOOK EYTHEL..... Be glad I like you and allow you to ride on my coat tails. But as Mitchell will tell you, sometimes you just dont get it. Its not like you cant tell a good joke. You just have a hard time delivering the punch line. ;)
Ive been trashing on your thread just so people will tune in and your perceived political power will grow. I expect you to be running the country some day but you will need the vote of us senior citizens to get there. Im sure the basket weaving merit badge you earned in Boy Scouts makes you feel that you are qualified but you need to get over this total secrecy thing.
All I brought up here was my idea for a FD Bagtag and you and Dave shot it down. I didnt hear anyone else bring it up the other night and if they had done it with my name in front of it you would have knocked them upside the head with your salt shaker. :(
I am now dumping the idea of involving club membership with it so it will be specific to my mountain only. Dont be surprised when people show up at your minis asking where they can get one.

Carefull there hairball, that course is only yours as long as the club sees it that way. Don't start acting like you own it and everyone else can kiss your arse.
There is a LONG list of names that have been there before you and only a few even remember who they are. :o
I didn't knock the idea of your nut tag, only a few aspects of it. I still like the membership/tag combo idea but not the milligan part of it.
Remember, you are only a course director up on the hill.
And a representative of the club, so act like it. :p

You're right Dave. :(
But as long as I'm there then I'm going to make it fun and inventive. I wouldn't be doing it if you hadn't pushed me into it in the first place. And I wouldn't keep doing it if Lil' Moose wasn't there to be part of it. Burnout is right around the corner but until then, if I'm breaking a TDSA rule then you need to let me know.
I probably would be out of it already if I hadn't gotten drunk and promised a new course up there. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
You are an Ex-Admin and still one of the faces that shows up on TV every once in a while. Andrew is a current admin. You two consistantly trashing the pitch n' putts as not worth the effort doesn't reflect well on either of you as TDSA reps either. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

<font color="red"> The Chandler thread has more views because it is considerably older. And "This board doesn't have to be all business"?? My post pointed out that actually discussing something worth while is a change from the usual. It really doesn't seem like you have very much attention to detail...don't you do something in engineering? Your poor attention to detail is probably to blame for all the crumby bridges around Oklahoma... </font>
<font color="red">I have no "secrecy" thing. I am probably one of the most upfront people around here, as far as brutal honesty goes. I, usually (but not in this case if you had read my post) disagree with bringing up discussions about these things for the previously mentioned reasons, but I actually thought it was good to talk about this issue here (again, something you would know by my last post). This is not the best place to discuss things because too many people who do not know all the facts or the whole story post and get things in a tizzy. Besides, it usually takes you nearly 2 days to formulate a post... </font>
All I brought up here was my idea for a FD Bagtag and you and Dave shot it down. I didnt hear anyone else bring it up the other night and if they had done it with my name in front of it you would have knocked them upside the head with your salt shaker. :(
<font color="red">No, initially you brought up a different topic that is much more sensitive (especially to public discussion) but that is not your fault, you are just shy on common sense that's all. ;)
And the reason I am against a Chandler bag tag (and the idea of picking the tags at random, which doesn't matter since the first time a big mini happens they will sort out anyway) is because it would take away from a Tulsa bag tag, which is going to be one of the ideas that is brought to the next meeting as an increased incentive for new members.</font>
I am now dumping the idea of involving club membership with it so it will be specific to my mountain only. Dont be surprised when people show up at your minis asking where they can get one.
<font color="red">That is right just take it all for yourself, not like the club needs any funding. And I know you need the money. :oJack the prices up at ChandlerStock like you talked about and then pull a Michael Barr and move away. We all know about your family in Toronto!
What a guy. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif </font>
But you know Furdog, you do have ideas, and sometimes they are worth listening to. That is why I try.
But when you come to an Admin meeting, you just talk and talk, and you never wait to be called on.
Before I was elected as an admin I went to meetings and I would sit and listen, and I would take notes, and then go home and talk to dad about stuff.
I didn't speak out unless someone asked my opinion or otherwise.
Why?
Because I had no voting power. I could get as wrapped up as I wanted and still could not do anything directly. So that is why I ran and was elected.
I think you, and Wise for that matter, need to step up and do the same.
You are both prolific thinkers (trying to be nice) and we could use some people who will actually debate and find the best solution. And who will do some active thinking on ways to better the Club.
That is what I try and do...not on the board, but when it counts. :D

Last night was Trash Dave night and it was a great success. I tried to get everyone started on time but sooo many people were stepping up to trash Dave that we didnt start until 6:40. Dave was smiling and took it really well and even trashed himself at one time. That guy will do anything for a free mully. I think my favorite point was when all 26 people shouted out Dave Wise sucks! in unison. After that there was an Andrew Treat beats his m _ _ t! chant for about 5 minutes. ;)
On top of that, ALL CURRENT TDSA MEMBERS GOT $4 OFF THEIR ENTRY FEE!!! :o
Sometimes it pays to be a TDSA Member!!!!
In the words of Daryl JohnsonGiving back is what this sport is all about!!! :)
And the members rejoiced and gave me FREE BEER for the rest of the night!!!! :)
On a side note, Chris Hicks not only got into to Twoputts head, but he got into his wallet also from what I heard. I dont know what the actual damage was but I heard a rumor that it was in the double digits.
Thank you Mr. Dave. You could have stayed home but you showed up and this Bud is for you!!!!

Ok Andrew....I'm not going to trash you on that because that was almost a respectable post. Congratulations.....You're back in "The Band"!!! :)
The county is not going to set up Chandler with new baskets like Riverside. I already have the money to buy them but that doesn't include tee signs, the cost of the cement and all of the other expense that comes with it. The existing course needs some work also and I might end up having to buy another basket or two depending on how easy the ones that are being moved come out of the ground.
Im thinking of the FD bag tags as more of a course / CS25 fund raiser now and they probably wont generate that much money. I could sell mullies but the tag will last longer if nothing else than just a one year novelty in remembrance of the event and probably the last one Marie and I do. I guess I could always add them as part of the players pack and cash them 2 or 3 dollars over cost. I dont know but its nothing against the club.
bravo

Furdogs simple guide for life.
1) Never let your woman go out with your buddy and his woman to dinner without you. One of three things will happen. Your woman will pump your buddy for information, your buddy will get drunk or stoned and give it up freely, or your buddy will overhear your woman telling something to his woman that you dont want your buddy to know. :(
2) Stick to conventional warfare. Although nukes are available they will ultimately cost you your job, home, and family.
3) Never underestimate the power of exaggeration. Without it there would be no Santa presents.
4) When you win $2000 in Vegas, give your buddy a percentage before you tell him to lie to your wife for you. Especially if youre going to trash his efforts promoting his DG course and events for the rest of your life. :p
5) In todays world, verbally threatening someone will just bring them to your doorstep where your wife and kids are. :(
6) Learn to fly upside down in case the earths gravity fails and you start drifting out into space. :)
7) Keep your lines of communication open because the newspaper will print the story with or without your consent.
8) If youre going to grow weed, throw the seeds in your neighbors yard and then offer to mow their lawn.
9) Learn a different language so you will be able to communicate with aliens from outer space.
10) The addition of a cat box in your home adds the same value to your property as adding a half bath.
11) When the odds are 50/50, God still has the house advantage.
12) Dont show off your disc collection to beings that land in flying saucers. They may accuse you of kidnapping their children.
13) If you feel the force, drop the blunt and run away. :o
14) Honor thy first DG course.
15) Dont build a nest for your family in the trees when beavers are around. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

6pm Chandler Park (aka: Furdog's Mountain)
The theme for tonight is..... "Don't be Speaking While I'm Streaking "!!!!
That's right. It's naked golf night.
I've got something I'm kind of proud of that I want to show you all. Then you will finally know why I truely am a "Legend" and why Lil'Moose refers to me as a human tripod.
Sorry but there will be no freebies tonight.
Ace pot is starting at $ <font color="white">71</font> so the less of you that show up the better chance I have at winning it. I've already spent the money. Now I just need to stick one in the chains so I can erase it off my books and shut out some of you moochers that only tend to show up when the ace pot gets above $60. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Tonight we will play the asphalt roads and over as OB. :o
That really only comes into play on holes 9,10,12,13, & 18 though so it shouldn't be a big deal.
We will play rain, sun, or mudpit. :)

All topics are open game and dont worry because he wont be there.

Special county park guest speakers will be on hand with a 8x10 color glossey slide show of Zook and his city crew sleeping on the job.

Special prices of plastic for current TDSA members!!!!!.....Its going to be like a going out of business sale!!!!! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Free entry into tomorrows Friday Night Flights with the Waynester to one lucky winner courtesy of Lil'Moose!!!!

Well the Trash Zook night was not quite as successful as the Trash Twoputt night. Yes, the crowd did all yell out Zucconi sucks my ba-low-knee, but that was only after I couldnt hear them the first time and I threatened to take away their free mulligan. They didnt have any problem trashing Twoputt but I guess for some reason old Zook still maintains some respectability amoungst some people. Carefull with that one Hairball, that statement describes you to a tee. You'll do anything to get your name in the paper, on a tee sign, on a flyer, or on a disc. The only time anyone has a problem getting your name on something is when its time for you to write a check for discs. :o:D

Frazier... a good kid, but he still has a lot to learn (not running minis right now due to injuries).
Zooc... maybe he was salty at one time, but with his workload and those scout meetings I bet he isn't playing much. (Even though again, he does not run minis)
Jose... also, works so much that I would have a better chance than I normally would... and keep in mind, I beat old Jose by one stroke at the GTO...(again he doesnot run minis)
I got this town on lock down! :D:D:D
As long as Wilkes doesn't start running mini's out at Copperhead I think I am safe for now... ;)

Better lookout cuz there could be some Mohawk minis on the horizon :D as of right now you, Furdog, Forest and Jerry are the only consistent TD's so I'll give you the current nod of "TD with best DG skills".

Most are 200ft or less. That is why the "All CTP" events are so nice. I think at the last one each hole paid about $40.
There is no other course in town that offers as many ace runs as Chandler.....It's where the true novice go to feel good about themselves. :D
True Novice, I don't know if I even qualify for novice but I am about ready to get my feet wet. :D

Well don't forget about Joyle Deering at McClure. He just hasn't been doing any week night mini's because Barney, Jerry, and I have been bogarting the week nights. Now that Dale has every other Monday in Bartlesville I would say that Dale is another TD that could whoop up on Lil'Red.
And BTW Lil'Red. All these players that you are comparing yourself to are Pro's. When are you going to make the move? Being a TD you have total access to all the cheap plastic you might ever need so why (other than the GTO) do you continue to run in advanced during PDGA events?
On a side note. MC, I noticed you are now a convicted PDGA felon on probation. What happened? Did Twoputt turn you in also? Are they making you wear one of those GPS ankle tracking devices? ;)

On another thread there was a proposed match between Coda and the Dude.
Maybe a more interesting match would be to pit current and former "local" TD's in a match that colud include all current listed course TDs plus the special events TDs like Wise and MC now that would be a match up worth seeing and I might come out for that just to make sure that the DFL position was filled by me. :D

No, I posted on another thread that Jeff Lagrassa was a couple cans short of a six-pack and I get put on probation...what a joke.
BTW Martin I am the current TD at RedHawk, you would probably know that IF I were running any minis out there this year. I apologize for slacking on the Red minis, I'll get a weekend mini scheduled sometime soon. Of course that certainly does not mean I am the most highly skilled Disc Golfer who is also a TD. I would have to give that honor to Chris Wagle.

Hole 14's basket has officially been pulled. Gone, gone, never to return. Construction is getting ready to begin. Standingbear is on vacation thru next week so don't expect a re-work of 13-18 until he returns at which time I'll be needing some help some Saturday in August to move the baskets to their new locations.

Well one of you all need to come out and make sure I don't screw up. If nobody shows up then I don't want to hear any gripping about where I put them. The parks department will dig the holes for us as long as we don't mark the holes right on top of a big rock. How many feet deep do you need to go for one of those things? I want to reuse as many tee pads as possible to make the transision as fast as possible. Even then we'll still need to pour a few new ones. This is a job for the Am Worlds Course construction crew. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Note on construction.
Trees are down all over # 14 & # 15's fairway. I don't expect # 15's tee pad to still be there next Thursday although #15's basket should still be there. Look for the flags marked "A" just north of the bathroom. I'll probably move those next week to make a shorter hole than the one we threw last night.
I'll probably set up the alternate between # 17 & # 18 unless anyone else has any ideas?

Other news......
Wouldn't you know, I bring out a temp basket last night to replace # 14 and they took out # 15 without telling me. So we ended up playing # 1 twice which really gave a golden opportunity ace runs.
I'm going out this Saturday or Sunday with some paint to mark new hole locations and Standingbear said they would try and dig the holes and replant the baskets next week. Don't look for any tee signs for a while as we'll probably experiment with different locations for a month or so.

Ok now I've discovered a descrepancy.
Devon Owens does not show to be current with the TDSA on the website.
When I asked him last night he said he didn't know but said that he recently got an ace, (I don't if it was Hunter or Dovillio), and that he should be. I didn't deduct the renewal.
Jerry or Andrew, did Devon get an ace at your mini's recently and was his renewal deducted and you guys just forgot to notify Steve Ward to update his status to current?
Also, on the subject of 51, according to Duff, if your drive skips and hits the bottom side of the basket it does count for $1. Do you agree?
