I saw Devon ace hole 8 at Dovillio about a month ago, during a mini.

I don't think so Donkey but if it did, could it have something to do with you causing confusion by writing some of the players on multiple cards? ;)

No more vodka shots for you while you're volunteering from now on. :D

But believe it or not Evan thats not the most we have had. We hit close to 100 at Riverside when the ace pot climbed past $500. :o

With Chandler and Dovillio, just this last week made up for almost 120 players. Now you see why you should take $1 of entry and put it towards your club.

We have been putting $1 towards our club since we started mini's, I just wish we could attract more than 6 to 15 people, even with handicapping and random dubs we don't seem to be able to get the rec golfers on the courses, they always act like they aren't good enough and then proceed to throw a 350 foot drive

I guess it comes with time..........

twoputtok
Aug 08 2008, 01:38 PM
Try a different angle, maybe offer them all free entry into a mini, with payout to the Ams only. Invite all you can. Get the club and some of your regulars to donate the plastic payout. It doesn't have to be much or even give them a free disc. Then let them experience the fun and competition of a mini. They may feel less intimidated afterwards and it didn't cost them a dime.

Spend a little to make a lot.

once a player is hooked he keeps coming back. :D
you did. :D

Also!!!!.....Since Joyle doesn't get on here......

Saturday!!!...Saturday!!!...Saturday!!!....

It's a 2Fur with Joyle Deering at McClure.

Tee times are 10am & 2pm so all you little ace pot weasels that showed up at Chandler last night, hit up Joyle Deering and McClure on Saturday and give him some TD hell because I believe he told me the other day that his ace pot is between $200 & $300.....I would say 80 players or so should be enough to make his day. :)

Also, on the subject of 51, according to Duff, if your drive skips and hits the bottom side of the basket it does count for $1. Do you agree?

Furdog you hit under the basket....51 is basket or above, plus I didn't want to give you a dollar. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif It was a nice shot though, how about a pat on the back. :D

sschumacher
Aug 08 2008, 03:33 PM
That right, I hit the bottom of the basket. Had it stuck in the basket it would have been considered an ace.

That's ok buddy, I got a dollar from you later anyway. Unfortunately it ended up going home with one of the Bartlesville guys. :D

Well such is life. You think you know somebody and then you come home to find your world broken into pieces. :(

Yes friends, LilMoose has dumped me.

I first noticed her acting strange on Sunday. She was distant and didnt seem to want to talk. There was a private conversation on the internet that she hid from me.

And then yesterday when I came home from work I caught her red-handed in the living room with a Wii.

Thats right.

One day, you think life is going fine and the next day youre a dog out in the cold replaced by a Wii.

She says Its not me, its her.. I wish I could believe that when shes pushing me out the door and telling me she'll be busy for the next two months.

All through the years was she content to play my Sega, Nintindo 64, PS2, or my newest play toy PS3 with GTA4? No, she never took interest to partake in my reindeer games.

But now she's with Wii its like,..

Honey, do you want to come out and help me with the mini? No, Wii and I are going bowling. "

Honey, do you want to go hang out with friends?. No, Wii and I are going to go play tennis .

Honey, whats for dinner? Fix it yourself because Wii and I are going to a baseball game together .

Honey, how about some hoochy-coochy?.. Sorry, Im too tired from hanging out with Wii all day .

How can the average dog compete with that? Heres a woman that says she doesnt have the arm strength for DG, but turns around and punches out her TV screen in Wii boxing not to mention the Xmas tree, and few stuffed moose, and a great left hook to the side of my head. She said it was an accident but what do you think? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

In law enforcement I believe they call that Da-moostic Abuse. Ive suggested that we go to counseling but she was not warm to that idea. Sooner or later an intervention may be in order because before long she is going to develop Game Thumb and theres no turning back once that happens.

Somebody get me a keg of beer to cry in because I dont think I have the heart to continue to be involved in DG without the support of LilMoose. :(

Who will be my role model now that my role model has ducked back down the alley with some rolley-polley little game platform?

I hate to say it but tonights mini and Chandlerstock 25 may not happen my friends because I am devastated by this. :(

If anyone knows anyone that can help please let me know.

I wouldn't know but you should have been there to hear it when she hit it. All three women started on hole # 1 so it was a quiet night up until then.

All the sudden, BAM!!!!. You would have thought that Elvis just showed up......Big hooping, hollering, yells, and screams from the women's card and a painfull groan from 48 men. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Ok now that I've managed to run off a couple of the "highly self-rated" & "high strung" pros from Owasso I think it's safe to advertise tonights mini.....

TONIGHT!!!....TONIGHT!!!...TONIGHT!!!

6PM at Chandler park!!!!

Theme for tonight is "Apocalypse Now!!!!!"

"This is the end......the end my friends!!!"

Watch out for helicopters playing classical music thru loud speakers as they fly over into battle!!!! :)

This will be the last mini of the summer at Chandler as the only dates I have for September will be Sunday the 14th and Saturday September 27 for the " Mystic Moose All CTP Shootout!!!". :)

With all the big ace winners in the last two weeks the ace pot has been reduced and is starting at a measly $42 tonight.

I may add some some "TD Love" cash or do a separate one night only side ace pot but it depends on how many people show up and whether or not I'm in a good mood. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Tonight is THE LAST NIGHT FOR $5 ENTRIES FOR THE PRO DIVISIONS so all you true Ams and Novices come out, step up and take a shot at Coda before the prices to do so go up. I will try and handicapp him by placing Dough "The Cooler" Duff on his card. ;)

Thanks to Mr Forest I will have the latest and greatest schedule for the month of September so come on out and get one.

Come see Wayne "The Real Deal" Forest play!!!!

Don't wait to play tomorrow at Zook's deal because it's going to rain like cats and dogs and you'll be lucky if the guy even shows up.

No rain expected for tonight which means "No Flooding" and no need for high waters at my course. :)

Cheap entry.....Mullies......and doing it in the dark is what it is all about.

Sign ups start at 7:20 so come on out and let's party with "The Wayne-ster".:)

Alright gang...

If you are planning on being at the Chandler mini, be sure to be careful because live TNT will be on site!

No the park is not doing away with the climbing walls, Furdog is unable to make the 1 o'clock mini, so dad and I will be covering this one for old Furdoogo.

He is a little under the weather so let's all wish him well. I know he loves going out there and mingling with the people.

So...come play Chandler...!

It will be my first appearance so why not make it yours! :p

What hurts my heart sometimes is where my friends choose to lay their commitment of responsibility. :(

To suck.or not to suck.

That is what I askedbut to no avail for which none were willing to purge these stones from my body through oral means of "Suck-duck-tivity".

IMO I think what DG really needs is not TV promotion but its own movie. Here are some possible plots.

1. Discshack : A comedy about an amateur misfit (Played by Furdog) and a washed up pro (Played by Twoputt) team up for an ultimate DG playoff with a doubles team of snobby pros. Sub plot: A lazy park employee (Played by Zooc) becomes obsessed with ridding his park of one devious gopher that is destroying his disc golf course.

2. Disc-liverance : A true story based on actual events about four DGers that play a round of DG in the woods in Arkansas and are attacked by gun toting hillbillies. (Starring Two Finger Slinger & Pitch).

3. Blair Disc Project : A horror film about four DGers playing a round of DG that get lost in the woods only to be hunted by an evil legendary witch (played by Q).

4. Discman : A sci-fi flick about an alien who crash lands on earth and kidnaps a girl and forces her to drive him across county so he can meet up with his mother ship while maxing out her credit cards along the way. (Starring Coda Hatfield and Shanna Swanson)

5. Death of a Plasticman : The true life story of a man (played by Hutch) who shows up in parking lots everywhere to sell discs to homeless DGers.

6. Hyzer House : A comedy about a college frat house of DGers that create disharmony and mayhem at the Worlds. (Starring Richard Mitchell as John Bluto Blutarsky)

7. Rest Your Eyes in Shades of Green : A documentary about the life and times of the true world champion, Robert Doc Morton. (Narrated by Olivia Newton John)

8. But Wait, Theres More!!!: An in depth look at the legendary Ring of Fire for those that made the putt. (Narrated by Wayne Forest)

9. Nightmare on Sharpie Street : A middle aged DGer shows up at a camping event only to wake up in the morning and find he has become a human note pad. (Starring Cupcakes).

10. Repo Discers : A gang of DGers do nothing but play DG all day and wonder why their belongings are getting repossessed. (Starring the Coberly Gang)

11. Enter the Box : A young Asian-American DGer thinks hes the long lost son of Bruce Lee. (Starring Thong)

12. Opie Doesnt Live Here Anymore : A father agonizes on whether to tell his son that he was adopted. (Starring Mike and Andrew Treat)

13. Twisted : A twister converges on a DG event in Oklahoma and drops saucy players packs from the sky. (Starring Joe Rotan)

14. Dollar : A middle aged man blows a DG charity event after someone says Dollar. (Starring Dave Wise)

15. Poles of Our Fathers : A DGer travels the world in search of pole. (Starring Dough Duff)

The Official 2009 Chanderstock25 Special Edition bagtags are in and they look SuperSweet like you've never seen!!!! It was all I could do to keep the people out of them at the Admin meeting last night. There will only be 100 available and I'm selling them for $10.

All proceeds benifit CS25 and the new 18 hole course .

The numbered cards are 2.75" x 4" long and feature the official color CS25 tournament stamp on one side and a super cool color special design on the back.

Consider this your back stage pass at CS25 and all mini's I hold at Furdog's mountain as owning one of these babies will entitle you to special drawings, mullies, tee box assignments, and much more.

Numbers 1-10 are special tye dyed design.

Numbers 1 will reside with me until the tournament April 18-19th where I will run a CTP or something amoungst the current tag holders at that time and trade out to the winner. That is unless someone wants to bribe me before then. :)

The rest of the tags will go into a bag and when you purchase one you will draw at random from the bag. If you don't like the number you get then throw it back in the bag and draw again for $1. ;)

For this week only though, if there is a special # 20-100 that you want reserved, post it here and I will reserve it for you until Saturday Feb 21st.

Wise, you might want # 100 little buddy.

Special thanks to Evan McKee of WAFDA for hooking me up with these tags.

I'm not conceiding your victory at bowling yet. I've heard you take your Wii to the office now just so you can practice 24 hours a day so obviously my bowling beat down on you at your house in front of your family & the Moose Lodge were just too much for you to bare.

On top of that, I have to share the Wii with Lil'Moose.

Lil'Drew probably goes to bed crying every night because you're hogging the machine.

I haven't bowled a 300 game yet but since you have I would assume that your rating is higher than mine so now you have to give me some pins just like strokes in DG. :D

You never should have told me, Grace. If you had kept your mouth shut you might have been able to get a larger wager. ;)

As far as tennis goes, I don't know because I don't play that very often but Opie said he has so I might sponsor him to take you out. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think it would be cheaper for you if you would just hire a pro, instead of trying to buy everygame so that you can have an edge.

And this whipping at my house? I Don't seem to remember that. Yes you did win money but it was your money you were winning back, for an 8 strike streak. Which was your best ever. My last 3 games have been 289 300 and 289. :o Can you do math?

That's two misses............count em!...Two misses in 36 throws. Lets see..............I think that is a 94.444% average of hitting a strike every time I throw. :o

Evertime you figure out you can't master a game, or Marie, Julie and I can beat you at it, you just go out and buy a new one. :p

You'll always be an 800 rated Wii player. :D

A little more than a week and 21 tags are gone. Don't wait, don't hesitate. I expect these baby's to sell out and if you don't have one by the event then I don't want to hear any whinning or crying because only 100 have been printed and only tag holders will be privy to certain prize drawings and giveaways.

This also include my minis of which I will have two Thursday night minis going on in March.

I would love to print more than 100 if needed but if I did then Twoputt would gripe because his wasn't the only one that was pimp.

I will be at the city championships this weekend or you can call my cell (636-5704) and reserve one today before I hit Nightrips. For some reason strippers love these. :)

This is the only year I will offer tournament bag tags for CS so once they are gone they're gone for good. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Feb 23 2009, 03:24 PM
George, since it's still available I'll go ahead and pull it for your friend Rob. I'll be out this weekend so please pick it up when you see me.

Otherwise it's the random "Grab" bag like yesterday.

Special thanks to all you greedy low number hunters yesterday that paid an extra $1 or more for a regrab at a chance for lower number. Five of the top 10 are gone thanks to you. ;)

It it my vision to make Chandler park a DG complex with the addition of the second course this year and you all have been great supporters of that so far.

Display them on your bag proudly and tell your friends not to wait until the tournament because these may sell out by then so you snooze you lose. When I start pulling rabbits out of a hat it won't matter what number you have because all will be equal for CTP's or random drawings for specials goodies at CS25.

If you can't make the tournament then no problem because the benifits of displaying one of these on your bag will last a lifetime in Furdog years. :)

Here's the update as of today if you bought one yesterday please post or call me with what you ended up with so I can update the list:

Dog, you are my hero!
hope the second 18 is as player friendly as the first 18.
And,
Then maybe we can think about a grind them into dust and make them all cry 18 for the 20 or so big kids that want the biggest longest tree and rock infested pure nasty disc golf short of the USDGC (more out of bounds than you can shake a quick stick at) course.
Maybe we can rig it up so they have to do repelling, rock climbing and include a full ropes course with a triatholon just so they can say they did it all.
Oh and include an viewing point so I can stand up and watch them curse the difficulty of 666 feet with 3 elevation changes and 50 trees with no shot lines higher than 10 feet tall. or some other ugly turn of disc golf course design.
maybe we can even plant 10 or so acers of poison ivy amid the trees just to complicate things a little more and keep them happy. :D

sschumacher
Feb 23 2009, 04:04 PM
Well Martin it's not going to be a super course complex like Mohawk and because of some land restrictions they putt upon us it will be more of an intermidiate length with lots of trees to wack. Two holes will go through the woods but that's about it. No tee pads will be in by CS25 but we'll use that to tweak out any flow or safety problems. We will have a basket planting party sometime in March. :)

That's a great course Martin. I wish I had that in my back yard and I'll bet 100 to 1 you've got a better chance of getting ESPN coverage on that course than you'll ever get at Mohawk.

One camera should cover it all.

Martin_Norris
Feb 24 2009, 01:50 PM
I watched the DVD "The Clash" that I got this weekend and while that may be the greatest course in disc golf I would have enjoyed it more if the course had natural OBs insted of miles of yellow tape marking artificial out of bounds. the gold course is very much like the local putt putt as far as that goes they just streach out the throwing distance to eliminate large parts of the playing public.
Which is AOK for what it is but in a town like ours it will always be a good thing to have more than one user friendly course for public play.
Remember Tulsa only has ONE Southern Hills and lots of other courses for the rest of the golfing public.
I firmly support the concept of having as many as 3 very hard and very different championship courses in our local area.
I think one should be of super long distances with no holes shorter than 350 feet.
One course of tightly wooded holes of assorted lenghts.
and One course of big elevation changes.
and a Fourth course if a place could be found that would combine all the elements of super long, heavy woods, water and natural OBs, and of course massive elevation changes.
The truth is that if the property that Coperhead canyon sits on was more golfer friendly that might be the ideal spot for such a course.
It has been many years since I rock climbed at Turkey Mountain but that project might be worth a look and I am sure that there must be another property within 25 miles of downtown Tulsa that would fit the bill.
Of course the maintence of such a super course would be time consuming to keep it in championship shape and by it's very nature would not spectator friendly nor would it permit good camera angles but it would give the top 100 pro players in the country a place to frustrate themselves.

Martin. The baskets Marie and I donated are Lightening DB5's. Sorry but we couldn't afford Innova's price. The DB5's are still quality baskets but they come in as portables with a round base. Lightening's recommended in ground installation method is to lock them to a "I" bolt cemmented into the ground.

We are chosing to not use the base and weld a two foot extension so they can be planted like all the others.

Sorry. I dont know what I was thinking. :(

The only thing youve done for me at Chandler is get wood and have us chop up the woods for an Am Worlds course for nothing.

I appreciate your effort there and I understand the limits that I should expect from a disgruntled overpaid conservative city gardener who wants to grow up to be just like Sarah Palin someday and thinks he knows whats good for Tulsa just because he can see it from his backyard in SAPulpa.

I just need to remind myself that when I showed up at Kelly Lane and Mohawk to help install baskets, it was for the TDSA and to promote the sport and not because you asked for help. :p

Lil-Moose and I, with the help of the TDSA, THE COUNTY PARKS DEPARTMENT, and the worlds greatest park maintenance director and staff, are trying to create a DG complex where the average guy can go to and have a choice and have fun and not have to muddle through the mud during the rainy season or get ripped off $2 at the gate for parking. And guess what???....They will even dig holes, move the baskets, mow the grass for us!!!!! :)

It seems like the west side county County Park workers take a little more pride and work harder at what they do to bring more enjoyment to the people that are paying their salaries. Well be sure to name one hole The Butthole in your honor.

Thanks for living up to all my expectations buddy. Well get the wood ourselves this year and as far as the shirt goes, I doubt whether youve ever bought one from us anyway. :p

BTW, I sent you another PM but it is in picture form so you wont have to have your kid interpret this one for you. :o

Dude. Why do I have to come back and italisize your response to separate it from mine?

I'm sorry if you feel like I'm treating you like a dog but from your initial post in response to the PM I sent you, it sounded like you were in "heat". You are obviously not a dog person like Twoputt. He is tail wagging happy to see me anywhere I show up because it usually means dollars in his pockets.

As for the politics, you bring it up and I just love rubbing your nose in it as you do the same to me. I don't know if you have a problem with the black man or not. I'm sure the native American's are wondering when they are going to get their chance.

McCain or Obama, it does matter because we're all doomed ....Obama will fail and the world will end in December 2012 when Sara Palin, after a record four years of successfull Moose cook book tours and speeches, gets elected. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I appreciate your DG resume Dave as I'm sure everyone else who knows your work. But all you needed to say when I asked you for help was yes or no.

The TDSA has taken care of it now.

I will be out at the GCD this weekend so I expect there will be fewer left come next Monday.

Also, I will be at Chandler this Wednesday the 11th helping the park crew punch 18 holes in the ground and cement the collars for the new baskets. The county is helping us with two or three guys but if you aren't working and have some time, grab some lopers and come on out as there are two holes in the woods that need some minor clearing. We could probably use a hand tool or something that will break up rock should the augur run into some before we reach proper depth for the baskets. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What time on Wed?

Mar 10 2009, 10:36 AM
Jim,

I will probably be out there about 8:30 or 9am. Chris Hicks will be out there early to mark the holes that are missing flags. I couldn't find five or six of them last night. ..Looks like someone came and stole most of our flags. :(

Chris has a meeting at 10 but will return around 11am.

Basically the county is doing 90% of the work punching the holes but I'd like to see a few club members out there for support and to help where needed with either throwing the cement and water into the hole or loping some small branches and ground cover on the two holes in the woods. I know one hole needs to be cleared enough to get the tractor and auger in.

It should be easy since it's still winter and none of the green stuff has returned yet. Gloves, lopers, a rake, and maybe a shovel is all that is really needed at this time.

You're welcome to come out at anytime but you might want to wait until the sun gets up a little because I think it's going to be cold in the morning.

The county's day ends at 3:30 but I expect to be done way before then. This project is definitely a "no sweat" operation. If we don't get all collars cemented in it's no big deal as long as we at least have 18 holes. I can always come back and finish on another day. We'll be working basically just west of the maintanace building so park there and come find us.

If I'm not there then I probably ran out to get more Quickcreate. At forty pounds a bag X 30-34 bags I wouldn't mind some help with that though.

Update:

Special thanks to Chris Hicks and Gary Nail for coming out to help dig holes for the new 18 at Chandler yesterday. Everything went great despite losing a couple of cutting blades on the auger after hitting rock on the first hole. Also a super big thanks to Pat Standingbear and the county crew because without their help I dont think it could have been done as quickly as it was. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It's always nice to have dynamite available when dealing with mountain rock. ;)

All that is left now is some minor clearing of two or three holes in the woods and the county moving some dirt to provide us with two special signature holes that from what I understand no other course in Oklahoma will have. :)

We're looking at the first week in April as an opening date for Tulsa's newest DG complex. :)

Also, the CS25 anniversary tournament discs have arrived. Only 100 of these will be available as part of the players pack. All I can say is that they are SUPER colorful like the bag tags so if you have a problem with that then I'm sorry. I can't imagine anyone not wanting one of these collectables but we have assumed control and we will be coloring the skies again CS this year.

I don't see any responses on the CS25 thread on the Ft. Smith site so I can only assume they are pulling out the tar and feathers and getting ready to fly away from another Okie butt wooping at CS25. :o

Do you ever notice how some guys that started on a pitch n' putt and gripe about them are the same guys that show up every year to try and claim a spot at the top?

That's like telling your mother that you have no mother but then years later you're back home asking her for money, to babysit, or to bail you out of jail.

If you can't respect the place you came from then why should the place you came from ever be willing to welcome you back?

And what type of image or role model do you portray to the sport of DG and the general public when you put down the places where it all probably all started for them? Especially when those people, and the businesses they represent, and potential cash sponsors, are the ones you're trying to milk for your big pro payouts?

Well I can't get under your skin anymore with CatBoy, or HairBall or knocking your game or your family, so I go for your baby, your new course. Which obiviously worked quite well. Can you say Dollar?!!!!!!!!!! :o:D

Even, very impressive. ;)

There are now only 44 tags left. With Chandler minis starting this Thursday the 19th and one on Thursday the 26th the number available are sure to start to dwindle. Im beginning to believe that these could sell out before the tournament which is a good thing but a bad thing for those that wait only to find out they get left out of some of the Moosegames we have planned. Twoputt has already threatened to boycott the event should tags numbered above his pimping pinky # 100 suddenly appear from nowhere.

In other news, unfortunately LilMoose has transformed from Frodo ( a young Hobbit bearing the burden of the # 1 tag that will save all mankind), to the lowly Gollum, hiding in a dark place under the house referring to it as her precious. :(

I have begun to fear that an intervention of friends may be required in the future if we are to separate it from her and cast it into the fires of Furdog's mountain. :D

BTW.....Starting Ace Pot for this Thursday's mini is $67.

As a perk of bag tag ownership, any tag holder who hits an ace will receive an added 10%.

You must register your tag # at registration or you can buy one at the mini. There are still some low numbers left in the bag if you feel lucky.

Mini starts at 5:50 since it's still getting dark kind of early so don't be looking for too much time tolerance or I might be gone before you finish. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Sorry I forgot.

BTW everybody, Twoputt has a habit of carrying his tag in a stinky place so if you end up with it, don't forget to wear gloves, call hazmat, and whatever you do don't hold it in your mouth and smile for the camera. :( :p

I have actually yet to see that picture resurface because I believe it burned up with Cupcakes cellphone.

Therefore I challenge Wise to post it here and if he can't......then IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!;)

Ok two hours have passed and STILL no photographic evidence. Even if something does show up after this post then it's been photoshopped which is probably what Wise is out trying to get done as I speak.

The whole incident is a now been declared an official myth and anyone that comes on now and tries to say that it did happen are the same people you see late night on Jerry Springer reruns claiming they have been abducted by aliens. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
