Circles around the reservoir with water in play. Long, beautiful course. Good cafe. Camping right by the course. Drop box next to cafe for the $6/car parking fee.

Hwy 193; 10 miles north of Placerville, right on Rock Creek Rd., 9 miles to a left into Rock Creek Cafe and 1st tee.
This course is breathtaking and will also test your best golf skills. Its pros are that it is very long, technical and has extreme elevation changes. It is one of a few courses in California that has true Par 4s and 5s. The only reason this course is only a 4/5 and not a 5 is because of the few cons it still has. The tee pads need some refinement, the course also needs better signage, and there are also some landscaping issues that need to be addressed to make it a Championship level course. I believe it will be at the level of a 5 rated course in a few more years...
Some courses are long, some courses are technical, this course is definatly long and technical. This course is awesome, especially after playing it a time or two. Once they refine the teepads and add some next hole signs or arrows, this will a be 5/5
