I've seen people playing Haikey a lot lately. They have opened up holes 5-11. The rest are still guarded by orange temporary fencing.

Ok, 11 courses X 18 = 198 holes x (avg.) 3 shots per hole = 594 give or take. Maybe they should call it the Indy 600. ;)

So, did you wake up on the way back to find Wayne asleep at the wheel? I heard that van has auto-pilot. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You know what sucks about cell phones...???

Once the battery dies, you're lost, ..and if you have no other way of communication. :(

Your mother will never hear you.

Your father will always assume you're OK.

And when you've finally found out that there is no longer a life line at your present location, ....you will walk or drive until somebody can find you. ....Help....

Hey Dumbarse, once the phone dies, plug it in the charger. :o Quit buying a new phone every time the battery goes dead. :D

Oh and after 7:00pm on any weeknight, LOSE my number.

TreeShark and I will be coming to T-town Saturday morning around 7:00 for a hardcore day of golfing. we are going to try and hit 4 or 5 more of the courses that he has never played. We have already done all Mohawk courses, McClure and Hunter. We are looking for 4 or 5 more to hit while in town. As of now we are thinking Dovilio, Chandler, Kelly Lane, and Riverside. Does anyone feel like a 102 degree long day of golfing? It would be nice for us to have a local to show use the best driving routes ON the courses and TO the courses, so we can get in as much golf as possible. I would even pay for a REASONABLE amount of drinks and lunch if someone was up to driving us around town. (My wife OK'd that so she could have the car all day to shop in!! ;) )

PM me, post here or call at 479-420-6469, if you want to hook up with us.

I'm not sure you fit the description of a local....... but if you know the way around to all the courses......
And reasonable to me is enough fluids to keep you hydrated so you don't die, or need hospital time, and mess up our day :)
And lunch will be something quick at some place that doesn't mind my sweat soaked body being in it, b/c I will be a mess by lunch time!! Probably not a steak or seafood joint. ;)

Dovillio - good condition

Riverside - pulled until the end of the year

Chandler - hole 14 and 15 have been pulled for park construction

Kelly Lane - good condition

Haikey Creek - still partially closed

Hunter park - good condition

You guys should really try the course in Muskogee, its a great course.

If you want a real challenge, then play McClure from the gold tees, its not the McCLure you know, any of you would be lucky to break par.

You may have trouble finding any of the hard core locals, as most are traveling to OKC this weekend for the 10K hole in one and the SUnday Roc vs Buzz Challenge.

Good luck. ;)

Thanks for the info TwoPutt! I can't wait to shoot my par on McClure Gold and see how those words taste for you!!! ;)
Is the gold layout easily marked to play? We want to keep the day going fast so we don't want to have to wander around looking for holes.

Also, is the Riverside park not just moved to the other side of the river now, or was that just temporary?

JimmyG we should be at Dovilio by 7:00am, leaving Alma at 5:00. I'll keep your number and call if we are going to be later. We'd be glad to play a round with you if you want to come out.

Looks like we will play Dovillio, McClure gold (if easy holes to find), Chandler (except the missing two holes), Kelly Lane, and Muskogee on the way home.

Should be a brutal day! I can't wait!!!

The Golds should be fairly easy to find if you've played McClure before.....

Golden Tee Rules
All re-tees incur a one stroke penalty.
If your disc hits on the fairway and bounces or rolls out of bounds you must re-tee. You must continue to re-tee until you land in the fairway.
If the disc is surrounded by water, parking lot, or sidewalk you are ruled OB and must incur a one stroke penalty.

1. Alt tee pad. You must land between the sidewalk and the creek. Sidewalk and creek are OB. If you do not land in the fairway you must re-tee. When you re-tee you have the option to throw from the original tee-pad which in this case is the designated drop zone.
2. Alt tee pad. You must land between the creek and all sidewalks, otherwise re-tee.
3. New tee behind original tee pad. You must cross the sidewalk otherwise re-tee.
4. Alt tee pad. You must cross the creek and be left of the sidewalk, otherwise you must re-tee.
5. Alt tee pad. You must land between the baseball field and to the right of the sidewalk, otherwise you must re-tee. When you re-tee you have the option to throw from the original tee-pad which in this case is the designated drop zone.
6. Alt pad. You must land inside the sidewalk, otherwise re-tee. When you re-tee you have the option to throw from the original pad which in this case will be a designated drop zone. .
7. Original tee pad. You must land across the sidewalk and right of the street, otherwise re-tee.
8. Original tee pad. You must land across the creek. The sidewalk and over the fence are OB. When you re-tee you have the option to throw from the Alt tee pad which in this case will be a designated drop zone.
9. Original tee pad. Over the fence and across the side walk are OB.
10. Original tee pad. You must land inside of all sidewalks.
11. You must land between the creek and the sidewalk, otherwise re-tee.
12. Alt tee pad. Over the fence is OB.
13. New tee pad located behind the original tee pad.. You must land inside of all of the sidewalks, otherwise re-tee.
14. Alt tee pad. You must cross the sidewalk near the basket and to the left of the road, otherwise re-tee. When you re-tee you have the option to throw from the Alt tee pad which in this case will be a designated drop zone. The painted line is the OB line on this hole only.
15. Alt tee pad. You pass through the Clowns Mouth and cross the creek landing on the fairway, otherwise re-tee.
16. Original tee pad. You must cross the road and land inside all of the streets, otherwise re-tee.
17. Alt tee pad. All streets are OB.
18. Original tee pad. You must cross the road, otherwise re-tee. All streets and to the right of the sidewalk is OB.

All of the "alternate pads are marked with yellow painted "A"'s. They are all on sidewalks.

If you haven't played the alternated before...let someone on here know, and we'll get you fixed up.

The golds are a blast...my best is 56

Who do you think you are????....Superman???.

Dovillio - Fine
McClure Gold - Read the rules.
Chandler - Ok, except for two holes gone.
Kelly Lane - Bring a bathing suit and your floaters. Watch out for "Zook the Homeless Troll" living under the bridge.
Mus-ka-gee - Don't know anything about that one.

You're going to do all these courses in 100+ degree weather?

I've seen you man and you're no spring chicken even if you do live in Arkansas. ;)

twoputtok
Aug 01 2008, 05:00 PM
Riverside was a temp, no course there right now.
I hear haikey is open for holes 1-14

You may need a local to show you all of the gold tees. Some are just small yellow spray paint spots on the side walks. Most of the holes on the fron 1-6 are from the alternate tee pads and 7-11 are regular. Hole 12-15 are alternate, hole 16 regular, hole 17 alternate and hole 18 regular and all of thesee with severe OB.

Hole 1 - tee area left of original on side walk towards 18 basket. must be across the sidewalk and between the creek. Must land safe in that area or re-tee from original, with stroke penalty.
Hole 2- same thing as 1, except OB re-tees from the alt pad
Hole 3- tee pad on sidewalk about 80ft behind the original.
Hole 4- teepad about 80 ft behind original on sidewalk. must be across creek.
Hole 5 - tee area about 100ft left from original tee pad on side walk. Ball field OB and must be left of sidewalk by hole 6 or re-tee from original with penalty.
Hole 6 - about 70ft back from original on side walk. Must be safe in island area or re-tee from original. Even on your re-tee disc must be safe or keep trying, with penalties.
Hole 7- must be across sidewalk
Hole 8 - must be across creek or re-tee from side walk leading from bridge, you'll see the marks.
Hole 9 - same as always
hole 10 - across sidewalk OB, re-tee
Hole 11 - disc must be safe between creek and sidewalk or re-tee with penalty
Hole 12 - no OB, except over fence
Hole 13 - tee area on hill by the wall about 80 back of original. disc must be safe between asphalt side walks or re-tee from original, with penalty
Hole 14 - tee on asphalt path behind and left of orginal. disc must be safe between road and the asphalt path or re-tee from original with penalty
Hole 15 - tee area on asphalt path right of orginal and down the hill a little. Triple mando between trees and under limb. disc must be across creek or re-tee and of course with penalty
Hole 16 - disc must be across first road and in the park
Hole 17 - tee area left of 16 basket by road, its an old tee pad. only OB is in or across outter roads
Hole 18 - must be across first road and inside of sidewalks. there is one side walk near the basket, you must be left of that and the gravel down by the tennis courts are OB.

Have fun and I'll bet you $50 you don't break par. :o:D

I am 30 and having a mid-life crisis. I have to show this brother-in-law of mine I can still play hard and beat him, even if he is 17 and can throw 100ft farther than me!!
We are doing 5 so we will have a better chance at having an overall champ!! Best 3 out of 5!!!
We will try McClure Gold, if anyone wants in on it we should be at it right after Dovillio, figuring around 9:30 or so, depending on play time of Dovillio.
Would be nice to have the tees shown. I'm taking the descriptions from here though. Thanks!!
Maybe I'll see someone there!

Great early am round at Dovillio yesterday Willie. Too bad that we both had mediocre rounds, but I was happy to witness Sam Nielsen making 11 birds and scoring 9 down out there. That was the best round that I've personally witnessed out there.

I hope that you and John survived the rest of the day.

Fiirst of all I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU, from myself and John for all you Tulsa guys who showed us around the first two courses. :cool:Jim and Sam at Dovillio, thank you, it was nice to see how Dovillio should be thrown!! :oAnd Dave, Ben and Cory (no E, I remembered) for showing us the Gold tees at McClure, we would have never figured some of those out!!! :)

We did survive yesterday JimmyG but I wondered If I was going to get up this morning! I am SORE!!!!!!!!!
Calling my round at Dovillio mediocre was very nice of you!! Judging by my play, I do much better when I am REALLY warmed up, as you can see by my scores. My only excuse for Dovillio is that I have been throwing forehands only for about 3 weeks, when for 3 years I have been a backhand driver!! But I still thought I would do better.
Anyway, here's the day's scores.
Dovillio 7:30am John - 63 Willie - 71 J1 - W0
McClure Gold 9:30am John - 63 Willie - 75 J2 - W0
Chandler 1:30pm John - 57 Willie - 46 J2 - W1
Reed Park 3:00pm John - 28 Willie - 28 J2 - W1 1Tie
Muskogee 5:00pm John - 65 Willie - 60 J2 - W2 1Tie

So, due to the tie, we had to go to an overall score total which came out to John - 276, Willie - 280 - So the young buck's first two courses pulled him out in the end!! But I think he would agree that even he was wore out by the end of Muskogee's 7,000+ feet, in the 105 degree afternoon!

It was a brutal day, where I drank over 200 ounces of water, and it all left me as sweat, if you know what I mean!! :o But we can say we had a real day of disc golf!!!! Thank you Tulsa!

Just did some quick figuring and this is what I found
Dovillio - 6,830ft
McClure - 6040ft (listed as Alt, not sure if that is Gold?)
Chandler - 4000ft
Reed - 2500ft (just a guess of 250avg*8 and 350*1)
Muskogee - 7304ft

For a total of 26,710ft or 5.06 MILES of Disc Golf!!!!
Figure in another 50ft avg walking between holes, 81 holes that is, and you get an addition 4,050ft, for a total of 30,760 feet walked on the courses (5.83 miles)!!

What a DAY!

What do you think? Fact or Fiction???

According to Lil-Moose, after they took out my kidney boulder the doctor came into recovery and told her that I was not to engage in sexual activity for six weeks. :(....She said I heard him say it but I don't remember hearing that. She said it could have been the affect of the drugs that caused me not to remember.

Then I asked her if he said "sexual activity" included self-abuse and she said he said it did.

On top of that, according to her, the doctor said that I am not supposed to watch football for fear that cheerleaders flashed across the screen might cause me not to survive six weeks.

Now I've noticed that she is no longer wearing garlic around her neck when she sleeps.

Do you think she's telling the truth on what the doctor said or could there be a Moose conspiracy going on? :(

Hey buddy. You want to go design something?

Take some flags and go out to Chandler. Start on the east side of the mound and mark 18 pads and holes CCW and end with # 18 on the west side of he mound.

Once you get to the maintanence building, cut around the south side through the woods for a couple of holes and come out on the east side and start working your way back.

Just watch out for picnic tables and remember they will not let us throw from the top level to the lower level.

Show us your vision and make it snappy!!!
