Sounds like you guys are doing a great job. Those that are doing the work will be rewarded with good karma I am sure.

As far as the CCO is concerned maybe some work on the tee boxes can be done, unless you already have. If not no worries I will be bringing tee ropes just in case.

Don't kill yourselves guys, some of you have the CCO and Am Worlds coming up. Enjoy them both and enjoy your hard work.

I hope to come down for a weekend before the CCO to do what I can and to answer any concerns. Any particular weekend before then good or bad?

How many sleeves need to be pulled from Guth for Waldron. I know a couple of baskets were pulled with sleeves and I have pulled three. There was one in the little ditch across from 12 blue but it is no longer there.

Get as many as you can! Ryan has one sleeve on a basket at his house and Trey has one sleeve as well. So, a minimum of 7 need to be pulled from the ground, but if you can get more go ahead and do so 'cause they will get used!

play where you want to play, thats what is great about the sport, you can progess at your own pace. we put a new sleeve in for the alt, but had to pull it to use on a permenant hole cause we thought we had one extra sleeve at the time.... There might be 1of the old sleeves there, but its probly full of dirt or tab broken... The erosion is in the middle of the fairway by the tree in the creek, there is a orange construction fence all around it. The fence might actually save some disc that would have gone in before.... Give it some time, im sure the city will fill it in like they have some of the other erosion holes....

we always talk about doing texas teams, at Circle R in Wimberley, but never put a team together. Its the weekend before Thanksgiving, nine member teams, $45 per person, pretty much bragging rights only. I think everyone gets a sweatshirt and a disc. 2 pros, 2 adv, 2 int, 1 pro master, 1 adv woman and 1 swing player(grandmaster, pro woman or adv master). Camp on site, real fun, read the tx teams thread under tournaments to learn more.

Well, we finalized some basket and tee placements and we are ready to knock most everything out next Saturday, 2/3, that is as long as we have at least 6 or 7 people show up.... We need weedeaters, tree loppers, etc. 10 til 3 or so.... keep seeing the same three or four guys as usual at the workdays, some of you need to step it up and come out with your gloves on.....
We are renting a two man auger and we are planting all the sleeves, so a lot of the manual labor is gone.....

Erron- yes u r correct. The holes are the same, we just finalized exact placement of holes and tees. Walking the course with Tye it was like okay a basket over there somewhere..... It would be nice to save money and not get the auger, but our issue is people showing up to help. It was once again just Tye and I at the workday, Cris C. showed up a little later and we played the course, I had brought portable baskets out.
I just want to get the course done..... Tye had not mentioned we didnt need the auger!!! It is sand, but we still need people with shovels to come dig, DIG!!!

rocknhardstx
Jan 30 2007, 10:11 AM
No more meetings, no one shows up!!! We just need people to show up saturday morning and be ready to put in four or five hours of work....
Travis refuses to help, he says we shouldnt be putting any 9 hole courses in the ground but adding all our baskets to Guth and Ingleside and until we realize that he isnt helping, sounds like a bad excuse to me.....
All I know is we will have the concrete and the auger there saturday. Even if it is just Tye and I, it will get done!!! So come on out if you like, but you dont have to, it will still get done

How many workdays has it been just you and Tye anyways? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I just logged on to edit my previous post cause Erron S. is usually at the workdays, I can remember it just being him and I for a couple.
Well, this was the third work day overall and the first time it was him and I only. After walking and casually playing the course to be, we discussed long tees and regular tees on most holes, but we quickly realized the possiblilities of losing your discs, so we need to do brush clearing on some holes...
There was a couple of changes from previous, but small changes.

As far as the disc goes, it could be Billy's, but there is no sharpie on it at all. As far as Waldron, I'll be there this Sat. (on time this time) and I don't mind it if it's only a few guys. It might take longer but at least those few will have the pride of knowing they were involved in the creation. I also realize that people have work, kids, and any other reason why they might not make it, and that's cool too.

Erroneous
Jan 30 2007, 09:17 PM
ask billy where he lost his, it might be the same one, might not.

It's definitely worth the work and you will feel the pride, just don't believe in karma or will be let down, hahaaha. After finishing Guth I thought "cool now one of us few that worked on it would have good karma and hit an ace pot", BS, Travis has hit 2 since then :D

Jan 30 2007, 09:27 PM
I am not going to change the title again guys. Is it a wokday or workday? I'll spread the word but the guys I play with are either out of town or working Saturday. Need to get the communication director a more effective means of communicating as Erron pointed out only a handful of us read this board. Maybe we could set up a phone tree of some sort. I know the Monday crew isn't going to help nor are the painters and I doubt the Ingleside folks are going to have much interest in Waldron. 'Cept Geoff cause he plays all over.

Oh and Chris, the disc is yours, no sharpie, you gave it a good try congrats, to the victor go the spoils.

Erron thanks for the map of West Guth. Waldron looks cool from above. Geoff we should have at least one round together at Vic. The next round listen closely cause I won't yell fore. You will hear a whisper through the trees and then DOINK right in the ear.

Thanks to everyone who made it out last Saturday, I think we had eleven or twelve show up throughout the day. We were able to get five sleeves in the ground, clear the fairways in the woods and around the pond and we trimmed a lot of trees and vines.
We are getting the last four sleeves on Thursday along with concrete and landscape timbers(for tee posts). We need to have a final big work day this saturday 2/10 to finish all the work. We will be there 10 til about 2 or so....

Ok so I don't have a place to stay while in Victoria like i originally thought, so does anyone want to share a room? I don't want to have to pay for one all by myself.
