Doubles mini on Saturday at Live Oak, probably playing in the back to get away form the other park users but I am not sure. Sunday minin singles at Universal City, I think Josh will be there but also not sure. Live Oak is big enough that the Easter people shuldnt be a problem. Come and get it!!!

We had a good turnout for our Tuesday night doubles. I think the new format for picking teams went fairly well, although any feedback is appreciated.

I think splitting in to two groups went well. But I think we should use the tags in the future to split. That would have moved me up and Smokey down (that would be the price I pay for whipping him earlier in the week) but I think over all it would be the most fair. Then you only have to deal with a couple of people who may not be tag holders but will most likely be rec or int anyway.

And please try to recruit new players as we have had several players move away in the last nine months, but only a few people have replaced them. Someone said Billy may start running a Wednesday night mini and we should inform them of that and Sunday Drivers as well.

It looks like some trimming needs to be done at Guth. I'm willing to carry pruning shears around with me if someone (Local TD where are you?) gives me some guidelines. The rec players are starting to do thier own course management ie ripping down vegetation. Someone took out a pretty big branch on three's basket. Let me know and I'll get it done.

It's the Albert Valverde you are thinking of Efrain. He is getting disc golf real well. Throws a putter and a buzz on alot of holes at Guth. Reaching the longest red holes already as well with driver. His grip has to be a bit different though.

yeah i just got bak from Lamer playing a round w the ole spider and putter. Fabian showed up, i let him throw my pro line spider for a round and he almost hits #1 basket. Then the fauker ace's number 2 w/ my spider!!!! I gave him $5, but i warned him on #1 that im not giving him my disc if he aces.

We tied at -5 played off a ctp hole and we were both 8ft out so we spit 1st & 2nd. Travis Took 3rd wit -4. Great day of golf on 4/20, starting out with the Mexican sweat tee off on #1.

We were in the ditch for just a few minutes Charlie picked us up in his van. No we didn't get beat down by the hail we made it out in time. Didn't even get rained on.

thats nuts we got to mckenzie and the sky fell!! as soon as we made it under the under pass there was quarter size hail , it hailed for at least 5 min. then we headed towards leopard and boom more hail!! we were parked under a banks drive thru for at least 10 more min hailing solid the whole time!!

Third Coast has a meeting with Parks and Recreation next Wednesday maybe we can come up with a solution.

Due to the recent theft and vandalism of 5 baskets at Lamar Park the remaining baskets have been pulled by Third Coast Disc Golf Club. The plan is to obtain new baskets through the basket sponsorship program that has been set up with the Friends of the Park non-profit organization. The baskets that were pulled will be repaired and updated (new poles, chains, welding and paint). The club is working hard to spread the word about the basket sponsorship program, this program has to be successful in order to get the course reinstalled in a timely manner.
A new bulletin board has been installed at Lamar Park, it will have flyers and information regarding the basket sponsorship program.If everyone can make an effort to get some donations and/or pledges for the basket program the course will be reinstalled and playable much sooner.
So, get off your "arses" and find some donation $$$$ to get Lamar Park disc golf course playable again!!!!

It is a crying shame we had to pull that park. I had a few rec golfer call me Saturday and Sunday wondering what happened. Hopefully we can put it back in soon. It is very beginner friendly and easy to measure progress on.

Well West Guth mini's aren't doing to well. Real low turn outs. Some young Rockportians were in attendence but didn't make a good impression. Pulling discs out of the water and not wanting to return them. We managed to ransom five discs from them. They called me later as they had one of my discs. Said they would maybe return it in the future. Anyway here is a brief description three 17ish white males driving a red four wheel drive pickup with a silver tool box. Nice truck too. My disc is an orange 173 wildcat with my usual markings. They claim to have returned stuff to Toby in the past. Hope some one can get through to them.

That sounds more like a personality problem to me. No offense meant. But you and Bart walking off with out so much as a 'see you later' was pretty classless and I understand you quit on the round at Ingleside Saturday as well. The brothers that were on our card I thought were pretty nice to ya'll until Bart basically accused them of pocketing personal property.

We split the cards up in a way that Travis could play with Nick as they are buddies. You and Bart got to stick together with the brothers staying together.

The Sunday Driver crew can be pretty rough but you have to have thicker skin.

West guth isn't forgiving if you make mistakes. Losing discs in the creek and pond are part of the local tradition. :)

Some of my discs are still in the water. All my pro plastic is somewhere in the water. Pro Firebird, then my Pro Orc, and this past thursday I lost my Pro Starfire. If you see and smell the water, not many people are in a hurry to jump in. Nasty stuff.

Actually no holding a disc isn't enough. Considering I saw three teenagers holding discs that didn't belong to them. I didn't call matchu a bit<d/>ch but I guess under the circumstances I could have. There are disc golfers then there are disc golfers. I don't have to like you Brandon because you are a disc golfer. I don't even know you. I like people that play disc golf because I like the person.

This is stupid!! Everyone was cool and there was no conflicts. We helped matchu search for all the discs that he threw in the shule in ingleside without receiving or expecting a thank you. Lance got one out of the water and would give it back without expecting anything in return.

Third Coast, great meeting tonight. I don't know how much I'll be around the next week or so parental duties call. Might not be able to do the whole West Guth Tuesday mini volunteers would be great. But I'll try to do it.

Great Job Mikey Thanks for going in .Third Coast Disc Golf Is going to host a 24 Hour Marathon In Beeville on July 16.Victoria s Riverside DGC will be in attendance in full force .We will do a round of singles in the morning and then matching up Best and worst scores,We will have a round of Doubles .We will have Marathon Packages available there or you can purchace From Billy Or Ryan .The Packages will go for $25 wich Includs your entry to the event This is not a big payday on the course by any means But a way for us all to get together and help a good cause .Ley me know If you are Interested in Playing or if you want a Package. :cool:

I and my family will be in your neck of the woods this coming week. We are planning on playing while we are down in Corpus, but can someone tell me if there is a map on the course and what are some of the hazards. I don't know what specific day or days we will play,but we will be in Corpus from Monday-Thursday. Any mini's during that time?

We had something Unfortunate and very serious keep us from putting the sleeves in .We will put them in Sat am and then drop the baskets in on Sun.

Just a note to the ace pot rules. If non members can't get the ace pot if they hit it, then don't charge non members the ace pot fee.

I'm not a member, but I've but my share into several ace pots.

If you are a non member you get what was put in that day ,plus money from guys on your card .we gave away $400 to a non member who didnt even join the club for $20 .00 .O yeah we never charge anybody for the ace pot it is always optional .

I can understand Mikes problem with the ace pot. We have said in the past you will pay for a membership out of the pot if you hit it. Mike had been saying since he started playing he'd join Third Coast if he ever hit an ace pot. We shouldn't have taken that $400 pot to Ingleside though. It is just that we seem to flip flop alot. I have alot of money tied up in a couple of ace pots and hate that I'm probably not even going to see it when someone hits. But maybe this should really be discussed in the club (which I am aware I have quit once and Mike isn't a member) rather than on this board.

I remember a different conversation. But the point is, that very ace pot your taking to ingleside has some of my contributions in it as well as members. The statement reads to me that even though you contributed to the ace pot and the club, only members can hit it.

If you word it as $200 dollars for members, $150 for non members or similar. You will still draw people in. I understand the point of taking the ace pot to the mini, but it's a mini, I want to play in the mini but want the same chance for the ace pot I've put into over the past months.

I'm all for promoting DG, you will draw more new players and potential members if you offer the chance to hit the ace pot with automatic membership and any other fees the club may charge. It still encourages joining third coast just with a little more incentive. The chance to hit the ace pot won't deter new memberships. :)

Ingleside has there own Ace pot these days. Id like to keep the West Guth Ace Pot at west Guth. We took it to Beeville and offered it to club members to entice people to go, and keep victorians from taking it. I've always told everyone that if a non member hits the ace that person pays $20 for a membership and keeps the rest, since so many non-members have paid into it.
We have had tourny's out of town the past two weekends, but the sunday mini is still gonna be happening at West Guth every sunday except the first.
How about for the 2 rounds in Ingleside we pay a $5 ace pot goin to ctp if no one hits an ace.

That sounds cool ,But I still think with a back up ace pot of $200 why cant we take it to club events .As long as we are calling the two round mini a club event .I have not played a thurs mini in Ingelside and have no money in it .I am all for anybody hitting the ace and joining the club .I think thats fair all the way around .we are going to have a club meeting next week we can vote on it then .

We should start a seperate Ace Pot for The Monthly mini in Ingleside. $4 or $5 a head will be cool since its two rounds. If we get 20 people to show thats 100$ added at every mini. If we carry it over it could get huge.
